Another great book in this series. Sheriff Bree takes down a dad guy and his family threatens revenge.
Her and her family are now receiving all sorts of threats and her ex partner Dana is targeted when her new boyfriend is killed and Dana attacked.
Lots of entwining twists and I didn’t guess the important part till it was just about revealed. Love that in a book.
Definitely highly recommended.

I read Catch Her Death by Melinda Leigh in one day. I cannot get enough of Bree Taggert and the wonderful characters in this series. As soon as I see a new book by Melinda Leigh, I grab it without even reading the premise because I know the book will be a fantastic read.

Catch Her Death could be read as a standalone book, but since the stories are so good and the characters are unique, I would suggest starting with book 1.

I liked the focus on Dana and getting to know her better. I also loved Collins and Greta (the K-9 doggo). Create characters. A fun fact from the story is that a dog can pull with three times their body weight.

The story is action-packed, with a good plot, and the characters are all so different and have their own storylines to enjoy.

Catch Her Death is a heartwarming yet suspenseful book with a hint of romance. There were moments I had tears in my eyes. I loved the animals in the story. Melinda Leigh writes such rich characters.

The books in this series are addictive, and I love the author's writing style from page one to the end, the book is engaging, and I love how she unfolds the plot.

I would highly recommend this book, this series, and this author. Five out of 5 stars!

I can’t believe this is book 7 in the Bree Taggert series. It certainly doesn’t feel like it. In ‘Catch Her Death’ Sheriff Taggert is targeted with hate mail and death threats following the arrest of a family member of a well known crime family. Threats are nothing new to Bree, but threatening members of her family? That’s a step too far. And to make matters worse, Dana Romano, Bree’s best friend and housekeeper/nanny/all ‘round wonder women is facing her own troubles. Dana walks into the middle of a violent home invasion at her boyfriends place. She tangles with the intruder as he attempts to escape, injuring herself in the process. As the crime occurs in another jurisdiction, Bree and Matt Flynn are officially not on the case. But when Dana becomes a prime suspect, Bree and Matt Flynn start an unofficial investigation of their own. There is no way Dana hurt anybody and Bree and Matt begin to wonder if there is any connection between the home invasion and the threats Bree has been getting. And when a second dead body is discovered with links to Dana’s case and Bree’s threats, it will take everyone to figure out who is behind these shocking crimes before it’s too late.
These Bree Taggert books are nice and easy stories to read, when I’m in a reading slump there’s nothing like a Melinda Leigh story to get me out if it. She always provides a good light romantic suspense/mystery, read. And this time was no different. A great read. 4 stars from me.

4.5 Stars: I was so excited when I saw that the ARC version of this book was available! I had been flying through the Bree Taggert series when I realized that the next book had not been published yet. Alas, I did not have to wait;)

This book continues the saga of the Taggert family, and, as always, it was fantastic! I love how the author strikes a perfect balance between advancing the plot, building the mystery, and developing her characters. With each book, I find that I become more invested in and more attached to the Taggerts and company. There are always new twists and turns. I can’t wait to see what the next installment brings!

Thank you to NetGalley, Montlake Publishing, and Melinda Leigh for this free ARC digital copy.

Ever since reading CROSS HER HEART, the first book in the Bree Taggert series, I've been hooked. I've read books in many of Melinda Leigh's series and would be ahrd pressed to pick a favorite, but Bree would be close to the top. CATCH HER DEATH is book #7. It could be read as a stand alone, but the story will be much richer for having read the first six and they are ALL excellent books.
CATCH HER DEATH brings back the family, whether Taggert, Flynn, Romano and the law enforcement family from the previous books and adds a few new members with Collins and her K9 Greta. This team pulls together to protect their own from a criminal family determined to stand above the law. When a criminal from the past inserts himself into their lives, you can be sure he will pay. The scenes with K9 officer Greta bring a little extra to the already great stories in this series. If you start now, you'll finish current titles before #8 is due out next year.

This is a five-star read that you would want to catch hold of and keep tight. This is number seven in the Bree Taggert series, and I have read them all and loved each one, as its built and built a deeper story. Bree really does just keep growing and growing, she is stronger with every page. Watching her struggle and wonder if her job is worth the risks to her family, is difficult, you can feel her anguish like its your own. When you see Dana having her upset will just break you, watching her be accused is so difficult as during the series we have grown to know and love Dana like a sister. This series has gone from strength to strength and will surprise you, I know I for one can’t wait to get my teeth stuck in like Great to the next story.

I’ll never not read a Melinda Leigh book. Not sure who I love more—Bree or Greta. Love that we got to know Al the characters (side ones included) throughout this book. Already want the next one!

I so love this series! Thanks to Net Galley for the advanced copy. This book was really good. I liked the partnership of Collins and Greta. Liked getting to know a bit more about Dana. This started with Dana's date being shot in his home and Dana being attacked. Then we have the arrest of the drug dealers and hate mail to Bree. So much going on and it kept me very interested. Liked seeing more of Matt's family as well. Looking forward to the next book!

One can't turn the pages fast enough in this great plot, things are happening one after another. Who is this person who knows so much of the people that he is targeting.. Another winner that readers will love.
Given ARC for my voluntary review for Net Galley and Montlake.

I continue to love the Bree Taggart series. I really enjoyed the mystery in this one, and I loved seeing more of the background for some characters, especially Dana.

I have loved Melinda Leigh’s books since book one, and they just get better and better. In the latest Bree Taggert book, she has a mystery to solve that is threatening her family. Meanwhile her ex partner/best friend/nanny, Dana, is attacked when going to her date’s house. What makes it worse, the police think Dana killed her date.

All the character are engaging and draw you in so you don’t want to stop reading. While this can be read as a stand-alone, it has something special for those who have read the series.

I love how Melinda Leigh brings back other characters so you can see how they are doing as well.

All together, this is a nonstop ride of mystery and heart that will be sure to entertain!

Catch Her Death – Melinda Leigh

Sherriff Bree Taggert and her K-9 officer, with her dog Greta, are attempting to serve an arrest warrant on one of the local bad boys, Travis Ekin. Upon serving the warrant on the family home, Mrs.Ekin denies his presence. But, despite his best efforts to hide, K9 Deputy Greta gets her man. As they walk him out to the waiting patrol car, Travis’ mother whispers an ominous comment meant for Bree to hear.

Meanwhile, Bree’s best friend and roommate, Dana Romano, is gearing up for a date with Dr. Kent McFadden in a neighboring town. When she arrives at his home, she finds the front door ajar, and surprises an intruder, who knocks her down the stairs in Kent’s home, before he tries to strangle her. But Dana is no stranger to physical combat and frees herself, the intruder fleeing. She finds Kent with a gunshot wound to the chest and attempts to render aid, while she awaits the police. But who would want to kill Kent, a plastic surgeon – and why?

After Dana is examined in the ED, and admitted with a concussion, Bree’s nephew calls to tell her there’s an intruder on the property. Bree and Matt, her investigator and significant other race to the house to ensure the safety of the kids, Dana & Kent’s assailant remains at large. With no trace of the shooter, and no other leads, suspicion turns to Dana.

With the Ekin family vowing revenge, and intruders on Bree’s property, it soon becomes apparent that no one is safe. But who is the intruder, and why is he writing messages about dirty cops on Bree’s barn. It is the Ekin family? Or someone else altogether? And is it Bree they’re after…or is it Dana?

This is another great police procedural series with a great cast of characters, and a strong female protagonist. Maybe it’s due to growing up with Nancy Drew, The Dana Girls & Trixie Belden, but I just love these series and will be waiting anxiously for the next release! If you are a fan of Lisa Regan, Rita Herron or Kendra Elliott, you’ll love this series too!

Sheriff Bree Taggert seems to be an unstoppable force. When she sets her sights on a murderer, Travis Ekin, nothing will get in her way until he's in custody. With that success comes risks to herself and her loved ones, as the Ekin family swears revenge. Meanwhile, Bree's friend and retired cop, Dana, dips her toe in the dating pool only to have the guy she's seeing murdered with signs pointing to her as the perp. As danger builds for all of Bree's loved ones, she and Matt work diligently to keep them safe and to get to the bottom of these threats. It's an exciting read that includes developing family relationships between Matt's parents and Bree's niece and nephew, as well as a possible relationship between Dana and Matt's brother. I can't wait to see what the next book brings for Bree's never-dull life.

I love this series by Melinda Leigh and this newest book is one of the best I've read of Bree Taggert's stories! I really enjoyed the mystery and the characters. It has been really enjoyable to see the way that Leigh has developed these characters so fully over the course of the series. Bree continues to fight the good fight , Matt is still moving forward from the trauma of his past and the kids are growing and recovering as well. I love that Dana finally got a strong storyline in this book. I will continue to pick these stories up and read them as long as Melinda Leigh writes them! Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

Melinda Leigh is a brilliant writer and teller of twisty stories and this book is no exception. Absolutely stunning and I could not put it down. Expect terrifying scenes and lots of twists and turns and don’t read it with the light off!

The cases are getting closer to home! I loved that this book involved Dana a lot more because I feel like as a reader, we finally got to know a little more about her and what she’s got going on. This book focuses on the case of Dana walking into her date’s home and finding him attacked, and even fighting off the attacker herself! While it’s not in Bree’s jurisdiction, she firmly lets them know she will be involved and work together to find the person responsible, but the others think that Dana is the actual attacker. During all of this, Bree is also getting threats and hate mail at her home, in addition to vandalism, and between Bree, Dana, and Matt, they work together to clear Dana’s name while also keeping the entire family safe. This book was a wild ride, especially with Dana potentially going down for the attack, and it had me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book. Can’t wait for the next book!

Upon her arrival she finds herself fighting for her life with a mask man after her escapes she finds Kent with a fatal gun shot wound . Dana soon finds herself a suspect . Soon there's threatening graffiti on the barn and trespassers Bree isn't sure if they're against her or Dana . With the help Matt Flynn and his brother Nolan they will do whatever it takes to keep Bree's family safe . They soon find both cases are tied together and danger is coming for Dana . This story is spectacular . Its action packed , intriguing and definitely Suspenseful . Full of twists and turns . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

I received this book from Netgalley.

This book sounded really good and I was excited to get started. It's definitely a kind of book I would be interested in.

I struggled to fully get into this book. I felt like it was a long story and that overall, not a lot happened. There were a lot of characters to keep track of and I feel like we didn't get to know all of them properly - not well enough to decide how we felt about them.

While I think that the idea of the story was good, I wish that there had been a little bit more excitement. There really weren't as many twists and turns as I would ordinarily hope for in a book like this.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and offer my opinion on this upcoming release.

If you follow any of my posts (Goodreads, Amazon, Facebook) you will note that I am a fan of Melinda Leigh’s. I love her characters - Morgan Dane and Bree Taggert. I also enjoy the supporting cast in each of these series, to include Bree’s ex-partner, Dana Romano, who happens to be a major player in Catch Her Death.

Once retired, Dana comes to live with Bree to help care for her niece and nephew, left motherless by Bree’s sister’s murder (earlier book). This story kicks off when Dana walks in on the murder of her date and is nearly killed herself. Pair that action with Bree’s day’s work when she takes down a murderer and his family vows revenge. Throw in a little stalking and vandalism and we have the stuff of which Melinda Leigh’s books are made.

I do enjoy the crime-solving work done by Bree, Matt and her team at the sheriff’s office, but what I most enjoy are the capable female characters that Melinda has created. Neither Bree, nor Dana rely on men to handle their problems. Simply put, they partner with them to solve crime, keep their families safe and present a strong face to tough times.
