A gripping thriller with relatable, likeable characters, “Catch Her Death”, by Melinda Leigh (Montlake), is another story featuring sheriff Bree Taggert with with Leigh’s usual talent.
I enjoyed the suspense story and how it developed, with some surprises and a bunch of “brutal and vicious criminals”, some innocent victims and other interesting side characters.
As usual I loved the tight relations between biological and non biological family members. Bree and Matt make an interesting romantic couple as well as working partners.
I just adored Nolan’s and Dana emerging romance and the way the author explored this storyline was my favorite part of the book.
Nolan’s size and brute appearance makes such a wonderful contrast with his marshmallow personality, his kindness and the way he cares for Dana.
The nonchalant way he admits being attracted to Dana, the persistence, thoughtfulness and care, are so seductive.
The dogs add a special touch of vitality and interest to the story.
It's a very enjoyable read with engaging characters.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Bree drives to meet her friend Dana who was injured when an individual broke into an acquaintances home. When another individual was found murdered, Bree thinks they may be connected. I enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the next book on Sheriff Bree.

Melinda Leigh is one of my top all time favourite authors. I know I'm always guaranteed a gut gripping read. Catch Her Death is certainly in that category. As always I was gripped from the first page and read it in one sitting. Bring on the next one. Soon please.

No one threatens the children. Sheriff Bree Taggert has just received another threat against her but she can handle that. Since taking over as Sheriff she has received many threats some not so nice. She just brushes it off. Dana is looking forward to her date as she likes Kent but it doesn’t go as planned. Someone attacks her and she find Kent shot and things take a turn for the worse when she finds herself being a suspect. She knows that someone killed Kent but there is nothing she can do expect let the truth come out.
Bree isn’t happy the way that things have been investigated but it isn’t her case and her & Matt have figured out that the stalker isn’t after her but Dana.
Will they be able to find the killer before they get to Dana?
Another great read in the series. Full of twists & turns.
Bree is a no nonsense type of woman she has grown the last year and I am glad to see her relationship with Matt getting more serious. Dana has settled down and found her place in the family but this tragedy has unsettled her. Let’s see what happens with her & Nolan.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC copy. This is my voluntary review.

I am here for every single book that Melinda Leigh writes about Sheriff Bree Taggert. Catch Her Death is the latest installment in the series and this one focuses pretty heavily on Dana, Bree's bestie, mentor, and former partner in Philly. Dana has been present throughout the series, but seeing her take front and center was a nice shift.

When Dana's date with the man she's been recently seeing goes sideways and involves calling for an ambulance, Dana somehow because a prime suspect. Meanwhile, Bree has her hands full with the takedown of Travin Elkin, whose family swears vengeance

Bree and Matt are still going strong and the kids are still thriving. This book allowed a lot of opportunities to check-in on Bree's family. I sometimes feel things move awkwardly between Matt and Bree, but I can't help but still feel warm and fuzzy.

I continue to love the way the Sheriff's department is developing including the addition of Collins and her K-9, Greta. I learn new things about animals through Leigh's book each and every time.

I know Melinda Leigh's books aren't considered cozy mysteries, but they do end up always making me feel cozy and warm inside. As always, I'm eager for the next!

What can I say that I haven't said already about this series?! It's one of my favorites and it continues to get better. I love Bree, Matt and the their whole little family. Melinda Leigh always gives us just enough suspense to keep us invested throughout the book and I love that I never have the twists figured out. Getting more of Dana in this book was a really big plus for me. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book!

Melinda Leigh writes excellent police procedural stories, with twists you don’t see coming. This latest instalment of the Sheriff Bree Taggert doesn’t disappoint. The central character is relatable and realistic, and the action pulsates from the first page and doesn’t let up. What I really love about this series is the manner in which dark subject matter, murder, violence and loss is balanced by strong friendships, loving family relationships and emotionally satisfying romance. Highly recommended.

I love the Bree Taggert series! This one is non stop from page 1. Bree and Matt are racing against time to solve a case with more twists than a back country road that hits a little close to home. Don't miss this!

Melinda Leigh writes such intelligent thrillers. I always fly through them because I can’t wait to see how everything being woven throughout the story ties together in the end. This latest entry into Bree Taggert’s world is no different. As always, it kept me guessing and turning the pages to find out what was going to happen. Aside from the mystery and action, I love seeing Bree and Matt settle deeper into their relationship with each other and with with the kids. I root for happiness for their little family so hard. There was maybe one part of this book that I could’ve done without because the interpersonal relationships are getting a little convenient and neat, but it’s really so minor of an issue for me that I don’t even want to call it a complaint, and as it develops if will probably grow on me. I will read anything Melinda Leigh writes, and I’m so glad I got to drop in on Bree again a few months early.

A really immersive mystery thriller with an amazing strong female lead. I read this as a stand-alone but I loved the character of Bree immediately and found it really interesting to see how she would handle her own problems (being threatened) whilst also solving a murder. This was greatly written, especially with seeing the different perspectives. A great read overall.

Thank you Net Galley for providing me the opportunity to review this ARC.
A gripping start and I quickly developed a familiarity and bond with the characters. Melinda is one of my favorite authors and I love her writing style. " Complexion pale as the dirty snow around the hospital parking lot." Can't beat that! Great visual writing.
Sheriff Bree Taggert becomes a target of a murderer's family . And her former partner, Dana, has been accused by a local police chief, of the murder of a local physician. .While Bree and her investigator Matt work the cases, his family steps in to help. In the middle of this fast paced thriller there is a heart warming family story. .The family interactions reminded me that in all the mayhem, there is still a refreshing balance of the good in people.
That all you need to do is react to a need.
After Dana being unjustly accused of murder the plot races on.. The plot made me angry and frustrated at times, which is great to have the writing illicit emotional responses of that degree. I made many guesses but did not guess the end.
Very fast paced . Great writing style . Unforgettable characters..

I can certainly hope this becomes a tv series or movie.. I can't wait for the next Bree Taggert book.

Catch Her Death" by Melinda Leigh is a masterful and fast paced police thriller with a well-developed plot, engaging characters, and plenty of twists and turns. It is so well written that I felt like I was watching a movie while reading the book.

The story takes place in winter and follows Sheriff Bree Taggert as she investigates strange happenings around her farm as well as a brutal home invasion of her best friend’s boyfriend. This book also does a nice job of including other duties that come to her department such as looking for a missing elderly man.

There are other interesting characters like Beast the horse with feet the size of dinner pates and Greta a K-9 dog getting in on the action.

I enjoyed the smart strong women characters from Bree herself, to her ex0partner Dana Romano to Greta’s handler Laurie Collins

The are well thought out and smart. The dialog is engaging. The plot keeps you guessing until the very end, and the ending is satisfying. Overall, I highly recommend "The Silent Witness" to anyone who enjoys police thrillers.

The star of this book truly was Greta! Another solid book in the Bee Taggart series that showed us the more vulnerable side of Dana. And as an animal lover, I really love the inclusion of the K-9s and rescue dogs/horses! Solid pace and plot that kept me wanting to read.

Full of chills and goosebumps and characters I’ve come to love. This is a must read. This series is one of my favourites and this book was a phenomenal addition. Pick up this rollercoaster of a read. You will be happy you did!

I have not read all of the previous books in this series but I will now. This was a great read. The storyline was great and the characters were relatable. I read this one so fast because I just had to know how it ended! Great suspense. Highly recommend

I absolutely love this series… It has been wonderful to watch Bree and Matt’s professional, and personal relationship grow with each other, and with her niece and nephew.
When Brees former partner and caregiver, who is a retired police officer, Dana is at the center of a murder investigation… Bree, Matt, and even Matt’s brother Nolan gets involve.
There is more to this than a Dr., being murdered, there is a family of drug dealers, an old man with dementia, and a frozen body in a trunk, and a stalker! Somehow this is all connected, and it’s up to Bree to find out who.
This series keeps getting better and better!!! I can’t wait for what’s next in their lives!!

Another great Bree Taggert book from Melinda Leigh. This book concentrates more on Dana Romano. The mystery had lots of twists and turns that kept me guessing. And it’s always great to catch up on the family and even Morgan Dane and her family. It could be read as a standalone but you should definitely read the whole series to know all the characters. I loved this book and highly recommend it to readers of romantic suspense.

Catch Her Death by M- Leigh, published by Montlake is Bree Taggert book 7. The book is a stand-alone in a series of interconnected stand-lones. And yes, there are cross-overs. Anyway, for best reading experience I recommend to read the books in order. I just did a re-read of book 6 Lie to Her and this next one picks up where the previous story was left off.
Sheriff Bree Taggert's family is growing. Her boyfriend Matt the criminal investigator brings his siblings and parents into the mix, just like her ex-partner and now live-in nanny Dana. And Dana is the character who's the iggest focus on. A race against time leads Bree and her comrades in a fast paced, action packed, suspenseful story. A story full of unexpected twists and turns that had me guessing til the last page. A literally unputdownable book that gives all the feels, had me on the edge of my seat.
