This is a very sweet story about an orphan Clayton becoming an apprentice to a very gruff blacksmith and artist Levi. Clayton sees the kindness in Levi's daughter Heart and falls immediately in love with her. Heart is very tenderhearted and finally finds a man who appreciates her for who she is. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. For me, this is more of a YA and was a little too sweet. I also thought this was a marginally Amish story. This is a story that will give you a lift when you need one since it is such a sweet story with a guaranteed HEA.

This has been such a joy to read and I loved every moment spent with these characters. Heart is such a giving person and it is easy to see how much she loves God. She has many responsibilities and doesn’t see the need to worry about marrying anytime soon. Heart adores taking care of her father even though he may seem a bit gruff at times. I loved when she brought home a special pet who I don’t think I would be thrilled to have. Within days the animal is a fixture in the home and brings even Levi joy. Who knew that this little pet would bring others together.

Levi is a hard working man who is very gifted in his trade, I think he works long hours because he misses his wife dearly. She has been gone for four years but he still thinks of her everyday. His relationship with his daughter is sweet and I liked how he watched out for her. He may not always acknowledge all the things his daughter does for him, but he is very thankful for her.

Clayton has had a hard life growing up in a children’s home. There was not much love in his life so being welcomed not only to be an apprentice for Levi, but living in their home is a blessing to him. He has never experienced sitting at a table to eat as a family. That moment in the story where he feels like he is wanted brought a smile to me. He is very careful not to overstep for fear that Levi may ask him to leave.

Mary is a widow who has given her time to others who are in need and also taken in animals that need a home. Her son has moved away which I was sad about. She misses him and wants to have a better relationship with him. Her hopes are lifted as her son is planning to come see her during the Christmas holidays. There is a hint in the story that she may have feelings for someone but she is not sure if she is ready to open her heart again.

We have met the main characters and here is where I want to stop and reflect on the story. It is a journey through grief as each one deals in different ways, yet they all yearn for more. Is it time that they start to open their heart for a new relationship? Oh I couldn’t wait to see how the author would develop how our main characters find happiness.

The story has emotional moments that show how important it is to be kind to each other, help each other out and always remember that love is there when you are ready. I adored the father -daughter relationship and how it emphasizes the importance of reminding family how much they are loved and appreciated. The ending is so good and I am glad that I was able to be part of watching Cinderella blossom.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and author. The review is my own opinion.

An Amish Cinderella by Shelley Shepard Gray
Book 3 - The Amish of Apple Creek
New York Times bestselling author Shelley Shepard Gray—one of the most beloved voices in inspirational romance—welcomes readers back to Apple Creek, Ohio, a bright and bustling Amish community where a woman with her hands full keeping home for her widowed father and his new blacksmith apprentice forge an unexpected path to love.
Perfect for fans of Beverly Lewis, Suzanne Woods Fisher, and Charlotte Hubbard, this third installment in The Amish of Apple Creek is sure to enchant readers looking for a sweet twist on the classic Cinderella story!
Set in the close-knit Amish community of Apple Creek, Ohio, this sweet Cinderella-inspired novel from the New York Times and USA Today bestselling and award-winning author is complete with a matchmaking pet rat, and will delight fans of heartwarming, wholesome fiction and readers of Charlotte Hubbard, Beverly Lewis, and Beth Wiseman.
Now that her friends are all marrying or moving away, Heart Beachy has started feeling lonely. Worse, everyone keeps asking when she’s going to find a man of her own. Don’t they realize Heart has her hands full at home with her widowed dad, too many chores, and a menagerie of needy, small animals? Besides, she doesn’t understand the fuss about marriage. It’s enough to make her consider finally becoming a
pet-sitter, or moving to an English community, where she won’t be an oddity . . .
Newcomer Clayton Glick is utterly charmed by Heart—and completely confounded. He can’t figure out why this beautiful woman is as awkward as a teenager whenever he’s around, which is often now that he’s an apprentice to her blacksmith father. So Clayton starts assisting with Heart’s never-ending tasks, even helping her corral her unruly pets. How else can he court an adorably flustered woman who doesn’t know the first thing about courtship? Because courting is exactly what he intends . . .
Heart doesn’t know why her pulse hammers every time she sees Clayton. She only knows yielding to such emotions will mean trouble. . . . But maybe with a little faith—and the trying on of a shoe—Clayton can convince her to join him on the road to happily ever after.
This is Heart Beachy and Clayton Glick's story.
At last, it was December. Though Heart Beachy loved Christmas and all the festivities and traditions surrounding the birth of Jesus, she didn’t care for the month all that much. As far as she was concerned, December was usually too busy, too filled with overblown expectations for the big day, and too cold.
Gazing at the clouds outside the kitchen window, at the way the gray skies seemed to cast a dull pall over the dormant plants and shrubs in the nearby flower beds, she almost . . . almost wished it was January.
At least in January the ground was usually covered in a thick blanket of snow. The fluffy white powder looked clean and bright. Plus, the frigid January temperatures encouraged folks to stay inside and relax. She would dearly love a day or two to relax.
Unfortunately, since it was forty-three degrees and there wasn’t a patch of snow in sight, today would be a different story.
She turned away from the dreary landscape. Grabbing a dishcloth, she began wiping down the counters and tried to think of brighter things. Soon everyone in Apple Creek would be looking forward to building snowmen, gathering for Advent, and displaying Christmas cards. Neighbors would be wrapping presents and baking cookies.
“I can make time to help Mary. Danke for the idea, Daed.”
“It was nothing. Just be home by three o’clock.”
“Why?”
“Someone’s coming over who I want you to meet.”
I recommend this book.
An Amish Cinderella by Shelley Shepard Gray is a wonderful well written 5 star book.
I am looking forward to reading more books by Shelley Shepard Gray.

An Amish Cinderella is the third book in The Amish of Apple Creek series. I really loved this cinderella story. This is Heart and Clayton’s story. Heart lives with her father, Levi, who is a Blacksmith and produces beautiful art that everyone loves. Clayton is a man looking for work and Levi needs an apprentice. Sparks fly right away between them. There is a fancy rat and some puppies that set this story off. Oh ,and there might be a two for one romance in this
story. This is a wonderful story that will have you reading through the night. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Heart lives with her widowed dad. She is content to live her life cooking and cleaning. She doesn't have much of a social life, but has her spunky little rat to keep her company. Her dad hires an apprentice and a wonderful friendship takes place. Neither Heart or Clayton are looking for love, but are not opposed to the idea. This is a very heartwarming book that will make you smile.

I really enjoyed this book. The story and the back story of the main characters were told very well. Each character grew in their own way and the respect for those changes from the other characters was very good. A great read! Shelley Shepard Gray is an auto read for me and this book is an example of why. A great story teller.

Readers who enjoy Amish fiction will enjoy this latest book in the Amish of Apple Creek series. Heart is a sweet Amish maiden who does a wonderful job taking care of her gruff father, Levi. Clayton, Levi's apprentice will soon find that Levi is more gruff than bite. The story is predictable but sweet and funny at times with the fancy rat and adorable puppies and their antics.

Heart is struggling with voicing her thoughts to her strong willed father. Is she being willful or just holding her own and standing up for herself. Levi is oblivious to some of Heart's needs. He still mourns the loss of his wife and is a taskmaster with his only daughter. Although, the reader learns that Teddy Bear would be a more appropriate.

The title is a bit misleading as there not an evil stepmother. There are varied animals and a wayward boot.

All it's a great story of overcoming grief, finding love, learning to stand up for yourself and have confidence in your abilities.

An Amish Cinderella is the third book in the Amish of Apple Creek series by Shelley Shepard Gray. Heart keeps busy with housekeeping and making delicious meals for her widowed, blacksmith father, Levi, right on time. When he hires an apprentice, Clayton, things start to change for Heart--in a good way. Clayton is always careful to remove his boots before coming into the house and is willing to assist her with her chores, even going so far as looking for one of the errant puppies. Why does Heart's heart flutter every time she's near Clayton? And what's going on with her father and Mary?

This was an enjoyable and charming read for me. If you're an Amish romance fan, you won't want to miss this one!

Thank you Kensington Books, for allowing me to read Anish Cinderella by Shelly Shepherd Gray, that is to be published September 26.

A delightful love story of Heart Beachy and her dad’s apprentice, Clayton Glick. This is truly a sweet storyline.

The story itself is wonderfully written and every detail it told in a delightful way. It moves so smoothly that it is really a delightful page turner. Every character is perfectly developed and described. Each one adds their own special element to the story. Even the animals add and unforgettable element to the story.

This return to Apple Creek is well worth reading. As usual, Shelly Shepherd Gray does and excellent job.

I was given and ARC by the publisher, but all opinions are my own, and I was not required to give a positive review.

"It was better to accept hard things than to pretend they were different."

Heart (Hazel) Beachy is a hardworking young woman who takes care of her widowed father's home, cooks the meals and carries on each day with multiple chores. She even takes care of a pet rat and her neighbor Mary's dog and her pups. Mary is a caregiver for people who are injured, ill or nearly ready to leave this world which she did for Heart's mother. Levi Beachy is a mountain of a man who is a tough blacksmith. He can be an intimidating person who finds it a little hard to communicate.
Clayton Glick is intent on learning a trade and is pleased that Levi has agreed to take him on as an apprentice. He certainly had no idea that he would meet the man's beautiful daughter and be immediately attracted to her. When Heart speaks up to her father and offers Clayton room and board while he trains with her father, he worries that the man will change his mind and send him away.
I enjoyed this story so much. Underneath it all this is a story that deals with mourning and moving forward. It is touching and I love the cord of humor that winds through the book. It is delightful. The relationship between Heart and her big ol' bear of a father, Levy, is endearing. His character is wonderful.
I received the advanced reader's copy of the book from the author, publisher and NetGalley. This is my unsolicited opinion. Any reader who loves Charlotte Hubbard, Jennifer Beckstrand and Beverly Lewis should appreciate this sweet romance.

This is another good book in "The Amish of Apple Creek" series by Shelley Shepard Gray. In this book Heart Beachy is feeling overwhelmed with all of her responsibilities. She lives with her widowed dad, takes care of the house and other chores and also pet sits. Courting is the last thing on her mind until she meets Clayton Glick. Clayton takes a job as an apprentice to Heart's dad who is a blacksmith. He is drawn to Heart and her quirky ways. Will he be able to win her over? You won't want to miss this book and series! I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.

I loved this gentle sweet Amish Romance by Shelley Shepard Gray. Not only is it an Amish Romance but also the story includes the Christmas season. This book lifted me up away from my daily challenges for a while. The Author has blended different emotions and came up with a wonderful tale about an Amish Widower and his daughter and a young Amish man who grew up an orphan in a Foster care facility. A widow neighbor who is a caregiver among the Amish people is also a main character and plays an important part in this book. It all fits together in this uplifting, witty and unpredictable novel that kept me turning pages and enjoying every moment I spent reading this book. I found it to be a five star read!

I recommend this book to readers of Amish Romance Fiction, women’s fiction and Christian Fiction. It’s book three of The Amish of Apple Creek series by Shelley Shepard Gray. It can be read as a standalone. This book is scheduled to be released on 9/26/23.

I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions shared here in this review are my own.
