This book was not for me. I was unable to even finish the whole book. This was very disappointing given that I really liked the author's previous poetry collections.
this is another amazing collection of poetry from one of my favorite poets, Courtney peppernell. so beautiful and raw.
I am obsessed with these works of Courtney Peppernell. I love how she sneaks in this cute little creature into the book to help with the purpose. This one resonated with my feelings once again.
This collection was another great read! I borrowed this from the library and definitely plan on buying a copy for my shelves. This heartfelt collection essentially explores the human experience, from living in the moment and the passage of time to embracing change and transformation, and so much more! This book will take you on a journey of self-discovery and introspection.
With any poetry book, I resonated with some more than others, but there were so many great poems in this collection. She captures the theme and nature of time and the impact it has on your life. This was such a great reminder of how important it is to cherish the present moment and embrace the uncertainty of the future. You have to break out of your cocoon in order to fly.
While exploring themes of longing, heartache, and resilience, it lets you navigate your own experiences and reflect. It does an excellent job at capturing human emotion and being so relatable regardless of your life's experiences.
It is definitely a thought-provoking collection that reminds us of the timeless power of love and the ever-present passage of time. It made me think of slowing down, living in the moment, making memories that will last forever, and enjoying every second of life. With life's ups and downs, it can be difficult to see the silver lining all of the time, but I want to constantly look for it..it's all about perspective and this poetry collection really exemplified that for me.
Courtney Peppernell is my favorite modern poet that I have had the pleasure of reading. Her poetry lingers in my mind long after I close any of her books and always makes me have a renewed appreciation for the beauty of life's most precious moments.
Loved this book of poetry. So many of them I really resonated with. It's hard for me to write alrwviews about poetry because it's so subjective. But I loved this collection
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me free access to the advanced digital copy of this book.
Courtney Peppernell can’t help but capture my heart as well as the heart of her other readers with her poetry.
The way she writes is relatable and beautiful and I am enthralled every time. She has quickly become one of my favorite poets! Absolutely marvelous!
just your average poetry collection from the author of Pillow Thoughts. I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as I did Pillow thoughts. wasn't really interested in some of the topics covered. Thanks again, for the reader arc.
Courtney Peppernell is an auto-buy for me! Can't get enough of the connection I feel to her words. This one did not disappoint. I look forward to any future work!
I've been reading Courtney Peppernell for years and I just think it's been amazing and wonderful seeing her grow in/with each book. While her earlier works largely focused on romantic love (and lots of heartbreak), her more recent collections like this one are centered on self-love, growth and healing, which I find so beautiful.
Time Will Tell isn't my favourite collection as it has way too many anecdotes for my liking, most of which I find overly cheesy. However, there are a few poems I love and deeply resonate with. While this was an okay read overall, I really like the overlying themes of rest, reflect, reset and rebirth.
I adored this so much! One of my favorite poets! Such thought and details of beautiful words! I can’t wait to read more amazing work from Courtney!
I think I’ve read most, if not all, of Courtney Peppernell’s poetry books so of course I had to check out her new release. But I have to say I was left feeling a bit disappointed with this one. The themes were great as always, grief and sadness and recovery and hope, but a lot of this collection felt too repetitive. And so for the most part it didn’t resonate with me much. The cover and illustrations were very pretty though. Pillow thoughts vol.1 still remains one of my favourites not only from her but in general.
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
While I enjoy poetry and stories, I found this book to have poems that went on too long and in stories that I had difficulty keeping up with. I think I just prefer my poems simple but deep, easy to understand but hard to think about.
Book Review
Time Will Tell by Courtney Peppernell
This book in 3 words: Deep. Tantalizing. Significant.
I have enjoyed all of Courtney's previous collections and Time Will Tell is no different. The way she puts her hooks into the reader, and pulls them through the collection, word by word, line by line, page by page is such an enjoyable experience.
There were many pieces of prose where I was having vivid recollections of things that have happened to me and how I got through it or how it changed me. There were lots of moments where I needed to close the book and thing, which I love.
This collection can be a bit heavy at times but I adored it.
5 STARS.
I never know exactly how to review poetry, because for me the enjoyment comes from the way poetry makes me feel. This book make me feel good, sad, and made me think a lot about my life. Overall I would recommend it and say I enjoyed it a lot.
Firstly, I'd like to thank Andrews McMeel Publishing and Netgalley for an honest review.
This was my 7th read by Courtney Peppernell, and she never fails to inspire me. This is a collection of introspective poetry that is honest and moving with strength and resilience being at the forefront. The two characters we follow (illustrated in the cover) tell the story of emerging from darkness into our greatest selves - bolder and brighter than before.
There are six chapters that take us through the many stages of becoming renewed. I loved each piece of art that started each chapter. A visual image to aid what topic we were about to read. I really love Peppernell's writing style and look forward to reading more from this author. I feel so much when reading her pieces. They resonate with me so deeply, and its so great to be seen and not feel alone.
I've read many poets works but Peppernell has a special tone of voice that calms and soothes and heals. I always feel centred when I've finished another of her collections.
Each poem was a story, I liked the ones about love and the loss of that love. Was going through a tough time with a relationship and it made me feel like someone else could relate to my grief in a very specific way. Showed me that other people can be grateful for the experiences of the people that are or have passed through their life.
This was perfection!
I loved every second!
A deep dive into what loss and grief feel like without being moral about it.
This was amazing.
Time Will Tell by Courtney Peppernell is a poetry collection following various themes. There are poems about change and growth, healing, and so much more. I found myself truly touched by various poems. The art inside is gorgeous.
My favorite entry was Ode to the Butterfly. I'd heard of the concept of that entry and I loved how Courtney Peppernell handled it and showed its message.
The poems in this collection are nothing short of exquisite. Each word, each line, is carefully chosen to convey the raw and unfiltered emotions that course through the veins of the human experience. The poet's ability to capture the essence of love, loss, longing, and resilience is nothing short of remarkable. Whether you are an avid poetry reader or a newcomer to the genre, "Time Will Tell" will leave an indelible mark on your soul.
