Beautiful collection of poems and short prose on how to cope with loss and grief. Some subjects are related to life experiences and it's heartwarming to know that we're not all alone facing life's hardships. Recommended for light poetry reading.

The main themes that this book deals with are sadness, heartbreak and healing from that. The adorable cover art is what made me want to read this poetry collection (and there is a few more equally cute illustrations in the book), but sadly I wasn't really able to connect with any of the poems since the style in which they are written isn't my cup of tea, even though some of the themes resonated with me.
What bothered me was that the writing style felt quite dry and fairly direct. I found many phrases or ways how to say something too overused, and they felt like some sort of quotable positivity sayings. I'd classify this as more of a self-help poetry, which I don't particularly enjoy, and I wasn't expecting the book to be written in this way based on the description.
Overall this collection could be comforting if you are or ever did struggle with such things and don't mind this kind of writing style.

First of all, I have to say that I absolutely love the cover of this book. It's so pretty! And the illustrations within are of the exact same quality. Overall I thought this was a really good poetry book that takes on the topic of reflection, change and rebirth of the self over time. It's about healing and strength and holding on to life even when it's really difficult. It's a heavy topic, but the book is a quick read and is filled with an overarching sense of support and positivity, which is a win in my book.

This is yet another masterpiece by Courtney Peppernell, a beautiful collection of introspective poems!

Those reported in this fabulous little book are very profound poems that completely change the way you see yourself.
Poems that capture your heart immediately, that help you discover your inner self, evolve yourself and improve the way that you look at life.

Traditionally, poetry is not my usual "go-to" genre, but I thoroughly enjoyed this and what Courtney Peppernell brought to the table.
I always love her books and how connected I feel with what she writes!

“You are still beautiful, even if you wear one hundred scars. You are still beautiful, even if you are still on your way. You are still beautiful, in every moment of every day.”
🤍
“When hope finds you broken on the floor, it will wrap its arms around you and tell you to let go——for the grief can root us in place, but starting again is trusting the wings of hope to fly once more.”

This book is all about healing, coming to terms with oneself, and becoming one's best version. I especially loved the drawings throughout the chapters.
I liked the beginning and the end best, while I found the middle to have repeating themes and drag on a bit.
Peppernell's poetry feels relatable and makes you hopefull for your own future.

Courtney Peppernell writes beautiful works and I am a forever fan. This collection felt a little different to me, like it didn't quite connect like her previous works. Thats not to say there were many moving moments through out this book. I very much enjoyed the variation in the the structure of the poems. The essay like pages give me hope that she will someday write a short story.

It was nothing crazy, it felt like forced poetry honestly. I loved her other books a lot! This one wasn't as touching as the others.

5/5 stars, this was so beautiful I needed to hear some of the themes

Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing for the arc through netgalley in exchange for an honest review!

I own a few other of Courtney Peppernell's books and they're so lovely, my first experience with her was in Pillow Thoughts Vol 1 and I'm honestly trying to read the rest of her books as well. So when I saw this on NetGalley I wanted to see if I could get this to read and I'm so happy I did. This poetry style is definitely for people who enjoy the structure of classic poetry but the possible connection to the present of "Instagram caption poetry" (which I really like). There are also some paragraphs and pages that are just composed of prose but help paint the background story of the collection and I thought it was very nice.

It's always tricky to remember that change is a part of life and that it's not always a bad thing. I have problems with assuming change has a negative connotation because it scares me. But growth means the same thing and it has such a positive connotation that it truly might not be as bad as anxiety makes it seem. This message came through loud and clear from this collection and I really needed to hear it at the time, I know that life is difficult but it was comforting to hear someone talk about change and eventually get to 'regrowth' instead of just not be able to find happiness anymore.

The cover is beautiful, and what pulled me in to wanting to read this collection of poetry. I'm still fairy new to reading poetry and still finding out what I like. Unfortunately, I didn't really get on with this collection. The main theme of the poems are grief and loss which, to me, ended up feeling pretty repetitive after a while.

I think if you are more well read in the poetry genre, you could really like this. I do plan to revisit the collection at a later date once I've read more poetry, and am looking forward to reading other poetry collections from this author.

Time Will Tell is a collection of poems that reflect on how hard, yet beautiful healing and change can be.

As my first Courtney Pepperell collection of poems, I found myself falling in love with the beautiful way that she could evoke emotion. I found myself struggling to turn the page sometimes as I had to reread the poem just to sit in the emotions that she managed to stir inside me.

I really enjoyed the way she played around with style and structure. It helped stop it from feeling entirely too repetitive. Yet, sometimes I do struggled to figure out exactly why some poems were in the section they were in.

This point could be because of where I am in life and how I related to more sections than others, but I did feel like some were stronger than others. For me, this did cause some lulls in my reading, but I was so captivated by what she was saying I still wanted to continued.

I enjoyed this collection. It wasn't an all time favorite, but definitely an enjoyable one. The writing was very easy to read and understand, I don't really like when poetry comes off pretentious which is why I tend to prefer more modern poetry collections. I liked the addition of allegories in the poems as well. Overall, a nice, quick read for any fans of poetry.

I absolutely love Courtney Peppernell's work! While I love her writing style, Time Will Tell feels harder to read than her other poetry collections for me. I was not able to get through the first section, let alone the rest of the collection at this time due to the deeply emotional nature not aligning up well with my current emotions. I will certainly be returning to this poetry collection at another time because.I can't *not* read one of Peppernell's works.

Thank you so much Netgalley for the E-arc of this book.

|| It has taken me almost my whole life to be at peace with
my solitude. To spend time with myself, to get to know
me—and who I want to be as a friend, a partner, a person,
a soul of the universe. And when I sat with myself and all
the things I felt and all the ways I wanted to move through
the world, I learned what I would and would not stand for.
It can be challenging to set boundaries with people. To tell
them, “The way you treat me is not the way I deserve to be
treated.” But it is necessary to draw these lines. ||

Well, unfortunately I did not enjoy this poetry collection, and I'm really sorry because Courtney Peppernell is my new favourite poetry author, but this book was just not it.

In this collection we get a lot of poems about grieving and the feeling of loss. Now, if you're interested in those particular topics I think that this poetry book is for you, BUT if you're like me and you're not really interested in these themes, then maybe try something different.

The only reason I'm giving this book a 2⭐ rating is because of Peppernell's beautiful writing.

Thank you NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for letting me read this book in exchange for a review.

This is a beautiful collection of poetry which I really enjoyed! It’s split into sections by themes, and some of the poems are structured like traditional poems, whilst others consist of a paragraph of text.

I found a lot of the poems to be relatable and inspirational and I enjoyed this collection a lot!

"Healing is much like a pile of leaves. The pile does not appear in an instant. It takes many falling leaves, slowly, one by one, adding to the pile."

Honestly, I don't know how to write my feelings or review for this book. I did round up my rating to a low 4 stars. I think if I wasn't on a healing journey right now (at the time of reading this arc) and I wouldn't have dealt with a lot of loss and grief in the beginning of the year, this book wouldn't have hit the way it did. There were a lot of passages that hit really close to home and some hard pills to swallow. I also enjoyed the story of The Old Man and the Butterfly story at the end of this book. There was also a passage where the author referred to themselves as a colosseum and taking care of people beyond their limit, and that hit really close to home. My Aunties often refer to me as being a lighthouse for people and that passage just made me really soft and squishy. However, there were a lot of passages that felt repetitive, longer than they should have been, and even near the end, it felt like we kept circling back to things that were already addressed at the beginning of the book. As an overall, I rounded up my rating for this book because the parts that really hit close to home and made me emotional really made the book for me. I think this book can potentially be hit or miss for readers especially if you're someone who doesn't vibe with repetitiveness. I still encouraging poetry lovers to give this a chance especially if you're healing from a l0ss or you're embarking on a healing journey.
