What a terrific prologue!

It grabbed my attention and set the tone for a fast-paced adrenalin rush as I enjoyed this adventure with Trevor and Carrie. One clue led to the other which led to various mysteries to solve.

The plot confused me at a specific time, feeling like I don’t know where it is going, but all made sense at the end.

The author did a great job with describing the scenes and making the Alaskan scenery feel visible while reading.

I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

This story took and handful of twist turns and at one point I thought one person was involved only to find out they were not. I really liked Carrie she was a fighter and would not stop at anything but to help those in need. Trevor was someone who loved deeply and literally sought out to find out where his sister was, he was going to stop at nothing till he found her or what happened. I like him for that he was this down to earth guy who just knew what he wanted and how to get it without being pushy or demanding. I will say there is two people in this story that the author kind of leaves you wondering what the heck happened to them, so I guess use your imagination unless they plan on being in future books, I guess we will never know. Overall this was on the edge of your seat book wanting to see what happens next. The author did keep this a clean read and it was worth the read for sure.

Packed with danger from start to finish, the plot of Shadows at Dusk makes more twists and turns than an Alaskan bush plane! The descriptions of the Alaskan wilderness were wonderful, adding depth and realism to the story. The romance between Trevor and Carries was a slow burn, and the ending seemed a bit too neat. But a great read if you’re looking for action and death-defying suspense.

Shadows at Dusk is book 2 in the Missing in Alaska series. I love Alaska so I adored the setting of this book and it was a great mystery with lots of twists and turns. There is a low-key romance between Carrie and Trevor, two characters who were determined to find what they were looking for. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series which features Nolan Long who was a supporting character in this story.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

Action and suspense galore in this one! Carrie James has certainly been through at lot. The man she loved deeply threw her out of an airplane when she discovered his terrible secret. Somehow, she survived! She now lives in Alaska where she thought she'd surely be safe. Issac, who found her and saved her life is acting 'off.' She trusts Issac more than anyone else. Why won't he tell her what is bothering him?
Trevor comes to Alaska to search for his sister who has been missing for a year. He convinces Carrie to help him.
Then, Carrie discovers Issac's dead body. It appears to be an accident, but Carries knows it isn't. Issac was very careful in his work, so Carrie feels sure there was foul-play. What is going on here? Is her situation and Trevor's somehow connected?
Lots of twists, turns, and romance in this story!
I was given an advanced ecopy by the publisher, Revell through Netgalley. I was under no obligation to leave a positive review.

Shadows at Dusk. Oh my. A bush pilot with a heartbreaking agenda and a detective on a desperate search. Come on.

I binged this book in two days. Because snap. With two big tugs at my heart, I couldn’t leave the book unfinished. First we have a bush pilot who survived a horrific accident and then settled into relative obscurity to start over. But when one of Carrie’s dearest friends is brutally murdered, everything changes.

Detective Trevor West is desperately hunting for his missing sister and discovers a set of photos she’d left behind. Carrie is the one person who could help him figure out where the pictures were taken, but she’ll only help if he assists in finding the killer.

And we’re off. I liked the way the author made me feel like I was standing in an Alaskan town, flying over the remote places and immersed in their culture. And I enjoyed the way the relationship grew slowly, with a lot of mistrust on both sides to begin. The action and tension ramped up as the plot tightened to a very satisfying conclusion. Highly recommended.

I received a copy of Shadows at Dusk from the publisher via NetGalley. The enjoyment is all my own.

Shadows at Dusk, by Elizabeth Goddard, is another tale full of action and suspense that will keep your attention to the very last page!

Detective Trevor West travels to Alaska to look into a case he has been trying to solve for over a year. He is trying to tack down his sister Jennifer’s whereabouts. After pilot Carrie James is recommended to him, he hopes she can help him track down locations in photos his sister had left behind. After Trevor meets Carrie, he is drawn to her for some reason; however, he has to remember finding his sister is the reason he is in Alaska!

From Carrie being held with a knife to her throat to their hotel being set on fire, Carrie and Trevor know these people after them have evil intentions!

Before you know it, they are standing outside a mining location. They have no idea the trouble they are about to walk into. This is the spot Trevor’s sister had been investigating. Trevor and Carrie soon get a glimpse at what caught Jennifer’s attention. When a man from Carrie’s past suddenly walks back into her current world, she cannot believe it. For the past ten years, Carrie had thought this man was dead. Will Trevor be able to protect her from this threat? With all the bullets flying around, you wonder if Trevor and Carrie will still be standing by the final page!

Elizabeth Goddard always provides readers with fast-paced, high-action, romantic suspense, heavy on the suspense. It is what make me always keep an eye out for her next book. I am especially enjoying her Missing in Alaska series of which Shadows at Dusk is the second installment. In this story Detective Trevor West is searching for his missing sister, a geologist who went missing while on leave from her job at EchoGlobal. He hires bush pilot Carrie James to assist with his search, and almost immediately gets sucked into the danger that is following her, possibly from her distant past. Alaska is a beautiful backdrop to this intense tale, and the lead characters have multiple opportunities to fly over and hike through its beautiful and perilous terrain.

Fans of Robin Patchen, Irene Hannon, and Lynette Eason are likely to be or to become fans of Eizabeth Goddard as well. Shadows at Dusk works very well as a stand-alone read. If you do happen to read it first, I've no doubt you will find yourself going back to the first book in the series which is equally as entertaining.

I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of Shadows at Dusk from Revell via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

Shadows at Dusk follows Detective Trevor West and bush pilot Carrie James on an Alaskan adventure. In search Trevor's missing sister, the pair find themselves in danger--and not certain which one of the pair is the target. Goddard weaves an interesting plot with intrigue, suspense, death, and surprises.

Powerful from the beginning of the story. This one is a "hold your breath, check your pulse, clench your jaw, heart racing, filled with action and suspense" story that kept me turning the pages and cheering for the main characters. Excellent read. I received a complimentary copy of the book. No review was required.

Alaska

This book, a work of Christian romantic suspense, catches you from the beginning and doesn't let go. Carrie, the female lead, has been through a lot. Her parents died early, then she was betrayed by someone she loved. Now she is a pilot in the Alaskan back country, partnered with her best friend Isaac.

Trevor a detective from Montana who travels to Alaska to find his sister. She's been missing for a long while now, and while his head tells him she is dead, his heart and his faith tell him to not give up. A random recommendation from a local police officer brings Carrie and Trevor together to solve his sister's mystery as well as one of Carrie's.

I enjoyed the descriptions of Alaska, especially the sunrise, sounds beautiful. Carrie and Trevor built a respect for each other long before anything else, so they have a good basis for a relationship. I can't say much more about the two storylines without divulging spoilers, and I don't do that.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Shadows at Dusk is outstanding Christian romantic suspense! The first scene starts with Carrie discovering that the man she loves is a thief. (Don't worry the thief is not the hero in this story.) The mystery and suspense start there and kept me on the edge of my seat until I reached the conclusion. Detective Trevor West and float plane pilot Carrie James are complex characters that I came to admire. I appreciated how faith was blended into the story.
The plot had twists and turns, and just when I thought I had it figured out, there were more twists to the plot. Author Elizabeth Goddard brought two seemingly unrelated cases together. I also enjoyed the uniquely Alaska scenery and way of life portrayed in the book.
I would definitely read more from this author and recommend this book to readers of clean romance and of Christian romance, to romantic suspense readers, and to those interested in Alaska.
I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and the publishers and am sharing my opinion of this very well-written book.

Fast paced with twists that keep readers on the edge of their seats, this book will stay with you long after the last page is read. I loved how Carrie has survived betrayal from a man she thought she would spend the rest of her life with. I can’t imagine being thrown out of a plane by the man you loved. What is really a miracle is that Carrie survived. She thinks the past is behind her and she has found a place to hide out. Her dear friend Isaac has been like a father to her and rescued her from what could have been her death. When she discovers him dead, her world is shattered. What did he need to talk to her about as she was leaving that day? Was he trying to warn her of something?

Trevor has come to Alaska to find out what happened to his sister who has been missing for a year. All he has to go on is something she kept for him in a safety deposit box. He gets Carrie to fly him over the area where the clues that were left for him might give him some answers. A strange accident finds the pilot that Trevor hired after Carrie couldn’t help anymore dead and with him was the only lead he had to find his sister. Was the pilot a victim of pilot error or something more sinister?

With danger surrounding our two main characters the author delivers a powerful story. Carrie and Trevor start to see that there may be a connection between what they are investigating. Carrie is fierce and has no problem taking care of herself. I loved her strong character and appreciated how she was a bit skeptical of trusting Trevor. Now Trevor with his good looks and sharp mind was a little hard to like at times. He shares just enough with Carrie but still holds back a little. Will these two find a way to trust each other?

It will come at a high price as Trevor and Carrie dig deeper into his sister’s disappearance and Carrie’s friends death. I loved being in Alaska and following them on their journey. It is a breathtaking place but it can be dangerous if you are not prepared for the terrain. There are little communities that are tight lipped about anything going on in their town. As Trevor and Carrie get closer to the truth, threats start surrounding them. Don’t overlook the people who do help our two main characters. I loved how these people were willing to risk their lives and stand with Trevor and Carrie.

The ending is thrilling, dangerous and filled with deceit, revenge and trust. I loved how the author brought Trevor and Carrie together in an adventure where puzzle pieces started to fit. The relationship between the two is slow to develop and I’m glad that the focus of the story was more on the illegal activities they were investigating. What a roller coaster ride this has been. The author includes faith elements in the story and how the main characters learned to rely on God to see them through danger.

I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. The review is my own opinion.

Shadows at Dusk is the second book in the Missing in Alaska series. While I recommend reading the first book (because it was a great read!), I do believe this one could be read just fine as a standalone.

There is just something about suspense stories set in Alaska, isn't there? The setting with it's more difficult travel (and sometimes spotty communication) adds that extra element of danger that makes the story all that much more compelling. As such, I find I always find this type of story entertaining. This one was no different. Right from the start of the story, I was absolutely drawn in. That didn't let up at all throughout the story and I found myself at the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. There was a lot going on in this story and I really enjoyed how the author drew it all together. There was definitely some romance to the story, which I really enjoyed, but it definitely took a backseat to the action so even those who aren't huge romance fans could probably enjoy this one too!

If you enjoy Christian suspense, this is definitely one to check out.

**I received a complimentary copy for consideration. All opinions are my own.

Wowsers! Goddard promised to take readers on a wild and crazy ride...and she certainly didn't disappoint. This book was a rollercoaster thrill-ride from the very first page until the last. There was always something going on: danger, suspense, angst, crashing, rescuing, lots of bad guys causing chaos, many prayers said, and crises of the heart. My head was spinning from everything. And I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
I loved getting to know Carrie and Trevor, and visiting Autumn, Greer, and Nolan (from Cold Light of Day - read it if you haven't).
This is Christian Romantic Suspense at its finest!
Highly recommend.

Many thanks to Revell and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor or expectation. I received both an eARC and a paperback.

Whoa! This is definitely a wild ride, from start to finish. What a story. Detective Trevor West has traveled from Montana to investigate his sister's disappearance in the wilds of Alaska. Police Chief Autumn Long recommends that he contact bush pilot Carrie James and ask for her help to find areas in photographs his sister had left for him.
Carrie James just want to finish her last delivery before heading to Texas to meet up with a dear friend from Africa. Everything in her life is upended when she finds the body of her mentor and father figure, Isaac, in the hangar of their business.
I received a copy of Elizabeth Goddard's book from Revell via NetGalley. This is my own personal opinion about it. This Missing in Alaska #2 is complete action, suspense and thriller. What a plot. I could barely put it down because I had to see what would happen next. There are solid characters here from good to evil and always questions of who can be trusted.
This book works as a read alone, but I recommend the first book in the series too. I can't wait for the next book. I recommend this for anyone who enjoys a twist and turn plot with strong characters, a dangerous mystery and a hint at romance. This is a clean read, depicting people of faith without being preachy. The descriptive writing can pull at the senses.

This book was action and intrigue from the very beginning! I enjoyed every minute of this read and could not put it down. I definitely recommend you give this one a read.

Carrie James is a bush pilot who moved to the tiny town of Shadow Gap, Alaska to hide from her past. Detective Trevor West comes to Shadow Gap to follow a lead on his sister's disappearance. Trevor convinces Carrie to help in his search. As they try to solve the mystery of his sister's disappearance, will they be able to trust each other to get through the dangers ahead? Give this book a read. You won't regret it!

This is the second book in this Christian suspense series but can be read as a stand alone.

His sister, Jennifer, is missing after taking a leave from work and travelling to Alaska over a year ago. Detective Trevor West, a former US Marshal who excelled in tracking criminals, is now a detective in Montana. He is determined to find her or what happened to her. Meeting Carrie James, an experienced bush pilot, is his one chance to search the areas illustrated in the photographs that his sister left for him. Carrie is still troubled by the limp from her near-death experience in Africa. She trusted the wrong man and nearly died. Can she trust Trevor or will she once again be at risk? When she is threatened and her friend and business partner murdered, it seems Trevor may be the only one that she can trust. She agrees to help him find his sister if he agrees to help her find the person who killed her partner. What had Jennifer discovered in Alaska that put her in danger and may have ended her life? An exciting and page-turning mystery! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

Montana Detective Trevor West finally has another clue to find his missing sister. Alaskan bush pilot Carrie James agrees to fly Trevor to track the clue if he will help her find the person who killed her friend. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. The story opens ten years in the past in a harrowing scene in Africa and then quickly picks up in Alaska. The suspense doesn't let up with an attempted kidnapping, sabotage, smuggling, and people tracking them. Trevor and Carrie will have to work together to survive, but Carrie is slow to trust. Their adventure will pull them together. This is a riveting book.
