Tobias and Hildy were a GOATed Regency couple in my opinion! I loved them and they had amazing chemistry. I prefer my heroes to have a tough backstory instead of a cushy lifestyle, so I appreciated Tobias's need to hustle for everything he had. I loved Hildy's spirit and how she falls for Tobias, but he falls harder. Can't wait to read more of the series.

The Brazen Bluestocking

The impoverished LadyHildie Templeton aka The Mad Matchmaker and Mr Tobias Streeter aka The Rogue King of the East End. A blue blood from the wrong side of the blanket but exceedingly rich . She is trying to make him presentable to marry the daughter of an Earl as a marriage of convenience, for them both, but fate has other plans .

Follow the dramas trials humour and fantastic characters written by this superb author.
Fantastically well written book. Not to be missed .

I enjoyed this historical romance with all of the characters. The two main characters were Lady Hildegard Templeton and Tobias Streeter.

Lady Hildegard Templeton is a daughter of an Earl. She is quite different than what society expect from a woman of her station. She has created an organization for women or men that want to marry well into society. She talks to their future husband or wife's and has them changing things about their way. But when she meets her next client she not sure if she can do this because the man is quite handsome.

Tobias Streeter has spent a lifetime building up an empire in the sordid streets of London. He is also known as the king of London. He has finally decided to take a wife but not anyone will do. He needs a suitable wife to ensure a place in society. So he decides to ask the Duchess society to help him.

This was a fun story to read. It had action and adventure throughout it that keep my attention. It also had a few laughs along the way.

I received a complimentary copy via Netgalley and BookSiren. This is my honest unbiased opinions.

This book had potential. When we met Tobias Streeter, a handsome rogue and clever man, I was very happy because this book started out well. Hildy is a clever girl who met a brilliant man, both have a good reason for needing this arrangement to succeed. The success of the deal was beneficial for the both of them so you’d think they would immediately team up but instead they put their guards up and treated every encounter as a challenge and a game that needed to be won. But okay, this could be fun, two smart people who have something to lose. Unfortunately they both showed their hands, so to speak, and the story quickly turned into a story of two people lusting after each other and they cannot live without each other because of that. I was a bit disappointed by that because all that build up tension was gone and replaced by them making out. I found it quite unbelievable that Hildy went to see a man who was betrothed to her client and ask him to kiss her, just like that. I felt the story revolves around the physical part and I missed the deeper emotional connection, the meeting of the minds. That goes on for quite a bit and then something happens which is totally irrelevant, it adds nothing to the story so I have no idea why it was in the book.
And sometimes the wording wasn’t smooth sailing, for example:
He couldn’t get a single thought out of his mind—a spot of trouble should he be unable to erase it.
On a positive note: Xander Macauley seems a very interesting character and I’m looking forward to the next book! I hope it has more depth. The duke of Markham and the duke of Leighton are interesting, too, so I will look them up in the other books in this series.
The best scene was Tobias sending Hildy flowers after he send his betrothed tulips, which were very incredibly expensive and hard to come by, and Hildy kind if shrugged and said it was ‘a good start’:
And then, there were the flowers. Covering every surface of her father’s study until it looked like a nursery. The only note included, asking which assortment was suitable to send to his intended since tulips had been frowned upon by the Duchess Society. The blasted nerve of the man.
Overall a nice book, but I like to be swept off my feet by a story and this didn’t quite do that for me personally. But I have no doubt that many people will like and enjoy this book. .
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book and I am grateful for the opportunity. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Brazen Bluestocking was definitely a different historical romance that I’ve read in a while. The main couple had so much tension and chemistry! I loved all the angst and mischief the friends get up to!

Also, I don’t want to give it away, but their relationship in one part of the book becomes something that’s very modern and I was pleasantly surprised that they’d both agreed to the arrangement.

I loved this book so much and I can’t wait to read the next book!!

I'm really enjoying this series. I started with book 3 so I'm trying to catch up on the series. I've got 2 more to go.

In this book, Hildegard Templeton, one of the founders of the Duchess Society, is working to make Tobias Streeter an appropriate match for his fiancee, a lesbian who wants to be a doctor. Their match should improve the lot of both. But when Hildy meets Tobias they basically instantly fall in love.

I enjoyed the characters and what they went through to be together ultimately. However I did feel like the book had some instances that were thrown together, like the predicament that Hildy gets into near the end, which is semi-dramatic but gets resolved way too quickly for it to be worth having been added.

While this story had some good points, it wasn't my favorite in the series. However I enjoy the strong women in this series and what they are doing to help out other women in their potential marriages, so I will keep following the books.

An emotional rollercoaster.

Tracy Sumner knows how to tell a story. Even better, she knows how to make you fall in love with your hated trope! Insta attraction made slow burn - brilliant! I still have butterflies in my belly just thinking about the romance. I absolutely love it. Don’t waist your time and go read this series! It is sooooo worth it!!! I promise!

Tracy Sumner is reliable when it comes to regency romance novels and the brazen bluestocking is no exception, I thoroughly recommend the whole series.

I loved the book. It's always so good to read a beautiful regency drama.

The author nailed the theme beautifully and I loved the chemistry between Tobias and Hildy.

Although the first few chapters were a little too slow for me but the book picks up good.

The premise of this book was so promising, however, I wish I could take a red pen and cross out many of the similes and metaphors. They’re over done and take away from the story line. The plot jumped a lot, why not go into depth with those plot twists? How is the reader supposed to assume what happened with Basildon when Tobias talks about it later on? I’m confused and still don’t know why he kidnapped Hildy. What was the point of including this into the plot if you’re not expanding on it? Also, what, how did he get this place in Derbyshire, or rather are we going to add more detail on why the viscount is all of a sudden wanting to claim Tobias as his child? The one liner wasn’t enough for me. Where is the detail when we really need it? The only time the reader gets descriptors are of how stubborn and independent the characters are — we get it already.

A Marvelous and Enticing Read!

This is a historic romance about a sassy and strong willed heroine, and a protective, charming and cunning hero.

The story follows a heroine character who lives her life on her own terms regardless of society's expectations and a hero who presents not only a challenge, but turns out to be as endearing as he is brutish.

As the story unfolds and more is revealed about the characters, their strength and growth shine through the pages. Their tragic and honest back stories make them more relatable and easy to love!

This story is well-written and wonderfully told! It grips the reader and when hit the end you just want more!

This exciting tale features wonderful world and character building, witty banter, a range of characters that you'll love, undeniable romance and chemistry, smoldering spice (which is even more fun to read in the old English), adversity overcome and an ending that leaves you satisfied!

3.75 stars.

This book was such a fun read.

A matchmaker that falls in love with the man her client is meant to marry? Now, that’s something you know I’ll enjoy. And I did.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well written this book was, considering I’ve never heard about this author before.

The author did an amazing job at capturing the chemistry between the characters. You could really tell that Hildy and Toby were meant for one another. The tension, incredible. The slow-burn, Immaculate.

I feel in love with Hildy. I loved how headstrong was. What can I say? I have a soft spot for a heroine that knows what she wants and is willing to take it, society be damned.

My only problem was with the second half of the book. While the storyline started up great, the last few chapters were disappointing, not because they were bad but because they felt forced. Reading those last chapters felt like reading drama, for the sake of drama. Things were happening left and right, and don’t get me started on the miscommunication. It was just not as enjoyable as the first half of the book was.

I cannot wait to read more from this author, and more of this series. I am hooked!

Thank you Netgalley and Wolf publishing for this ARC, and for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

I enjoy an occasional Regency romance, and it was my first time reading this author. Unfortunately, this was too dry for me.

Friends to Lovers, Star-crossed Lovers, Forbidden Love, Opposites Attract

Setting: London, 1822
Rogue King, Tobias Streeter
Mad Matchmaker, Hildy Templeton

Changing his destiny and perhaps hers, Tobias decided to rescue his mad matchmaker from her fright.

Or maybe he was waiting to see what she’d do. A gauntlet thrown, a woman challenged. Merely another day in the life of the Rogue King.

For the first time, a kiss made Tobias lose control. Focus. Purpose. Struck him as hard as a blow to the face, so he couldn’t think, only want.

The Mad Matchmaker had been shown a glorious world she’d thought was only written about in books. Or in the stars.

The Brazen Bluestocking has me curious to read other books written by Tracy Sumner, especially the others that are in this series!

Lady Hildegard Templeton wants to teach men how to be the best for their ladies and live out what is necessary in the "ton." Clear that she will only marry for true love, she has stuck to her mindset for a long time. That is, until she meets the next man she needs to teach, Tobias Streeter.

Tobias is an architect that wants to design buildings for the rest of his life. He needs a good wife to allow society to accept him and all his dreams to come true. Yet all his beliefs are about to topple down when he catches the eye of Lady Hildy.

I was intrigued throughout reading The Brazen Bluestocking and was curious as to how Tracy Sumner would wrap everything together. While I felt that the steamy scenes placed throughout were spicy, I did not think they fit in with the rest of the narrative. I wanted to hear more about Mattie and HIldy's efforts with her society. Overall, this is a solid historical romance.

A regency romance based on a matchmaker falling in love with someone meant for her client? Rock on. The characters in this book were simply amazing. The nods of going against societal standards offered a fun riff off of the normal Duke courts a lady storyline.

The writing is enchanting and beautiful and while I did find it a tad slow starting out, the tension and love won me over fairly quickly. Hildy is strong-willed and sassy, Tobias is protective and charming. With backgrounds that add to their depth, they’re too leading characters that fit perfectly together.

So I am not usually a huge regency romance person so initially getting into this book took me a minute. It is a little slow at first but once the plot starts picking up you get drawn in by the tension between the characters. Hildy known as the “mad matchmaker” has her work cut out for her when she is hired to facilitate the match of Earl of Hastings daughter Mattie to the Viscounts rogue son Toby. It is essential for her to succeed in this because the Earl has committed to hire her for his other daughters. This would answer so many of her financial problems. But Mattie the Earls daughter is intent on becoming a doctor (which is not acceptable of a lady in this time) and it seems like the connection between Hildy and Toby maybe more than she ever expected. If you enjoy strong FMCs, steamy romance, regency romance, and marriage of convenience you will love this book!!

Loved reading the entertaining and engaging romance story. When Lady Hildegard Templeton, a matchmaker, meets Tobias Streeter, Rogue King of Limehouse Basin, the attraction between the two of them ignites, but Tobias is engaged. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a riveting must read love story.

Hildy is an unconventional woman. She has a job which is very frowned upon in the Ton. But she's cut from strong stock and powers through all their ridiculous judgements. As the Mad Matchmaker she meets Tobias, the Rogue King and sparks fly. But he's to be engaged to her client! Can she resist the spectacle wearing, boy rescuing, cat loving man? No. Of course not! These two fall hard but I love they'd chemistry. It's genuine and never feels rushed.
Tracy does a fantastic job drawing you in and making you fall in love with the characters and their world. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.

The Brazen Bluestocking, by Tracy Sumner. I give credit to the author for coming up with a plot that would reach her specific readers. The main characters Hildy and Tobias I liked very much. Tobias’s is my favorite. His dry humor and ability to make people shake in their shoes I found very entertaining.
Hildy’s character was put off by Tobias at all. If anything, I think he was more scared of her. The story reads at a fast pace, which the authors will love as a page turner. The romance is sweet and very encouraging for Tobias and Hildy. The story is definitely a happily ever after story.

I really enjoyed this book! It’s a swoon-worthy romance that made feel all the feels. It was a joy to read this ARC and I can’t wait for the next book in the Duchess Society series.

The Brazen Bluestocking had interesting storylines and any fan of sexy historical romance books would find it hard to put down!

Thank you NetGalley and Tracy Sumner for letting me enjoy this advanced copy.
