Thank you to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the free copy of this book.
I've tried Nora Roberts books in the past and didn't really get into them so was hesitant on reading this one but I am glad I did! The characters were pretty enjoyable and well rounded, the pacing was decent and I enjoyed the paranormal aspect. I would continue to read this series!
I loved this book!! It was fabulous and well done. The characters were on point and I thought the plot was well developed. I would recommend this book to others.
Thank you for allowing me to read this book as an ARC.
Nora Roberts does not disappoint with this book yet again. It was beautifully written, hard to put down, and I fell in love with all the characters in the story. Every single one of them is likeable. It's one of those feel good stories that puts you in another place and time and makes you feel like you are there living the story alongside all the characters. The ending was also great even though now I cannot wait for the sequel to publish!
Nora Roberts is one of these authors that will make you enjoy every single book she wrote. This one being very different with the paranormal but still a great story line. Well done! 5 🌟 from me.
I listened to the audiobook version of this story and I have to say, it’s a beautiful story. I didn’t want the book to end and I’m now so excited for Book 2. Nora has always been one of my favorite authors, but she really hit the nail on the mark with this one.
First I should say that readers should go into starting this novel with the understanding it is the first book in a new trilogy. Nora Roberts is no stranger to 3 or 4 book series, but one should know that Inheritance ends on a bit of a cliff hanger.
Inheritance is part romance, but mostly fantasy/sci-fi. Sonya MacTavish suddenly finds herself as the sole owner of a gothic, mysterious manor in upstate Maine. Recently finding out that her father had an unknown twin brother, she decides to take a leap of faith and move into the mansion, even if it is just temporary. After falling in love with the space and many of the townspeople, she discovers the manor is haunted and one of the spirits is determined to spook her out of the home.
Filled with a slow burning romance and a little bit of humor, Nora Roberts has another winning story on the market. I honestly thought I wouldn't enjoy this novel, but I was proven wrong and can not wait until the second installment is published in 2024.
Oh this book...I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to read Inheritance and I wasn't sure what drew me to this book so I head in not knowing what I had gotten myself into. However, it only took a few pages and I couldn't put it down and when I had to I couldn't wait until I could read more!
If you love Nora Roberts you won't want to miss her latest Trilogy - this is absolutely magical and you won't be able to put it down. A little bit of spice, a fantastic story, and characters that leave you wanting to grab a drink and have a chat! Be warned, the ending is a cliff-hanger and it's going to leave you gasping and begging for the next book.
There is sooo much packed into this adventure - a tale of haunting, a family layered with secrets, a possibility of love in the most unexpected place and a few secondary characters that are just as spectacular as the FMC and MMC. It's time to unravel decade old secrets.
When Sonya MacTavish has just kicked her fiance to the curb after finding him with her cousin. Thankful she uncovered his secret she must now navigate her job as they worked together. Will his cheating ways ruin her life in more ways than one? A strong woman with determination and conviction, not willing to give up. Yes please!
Sometimes life throws a curveball and for Sonya she will soon discover that she's inherited a house but it isn't what you think. A family she never knew has found her and now Sonya will be left to solve a mystery surrounding the family manor. Are the rumors true? Is it haunted? What really happened? If she agrees to accept the terms, the house is hers.
When her lawyer, hunky Trey is there to help they will begin a friendship that might be the one thing that saves her than either imagined. .
It's time to head to Maine, are you ready to chase a few ghosts?
A centuries-old curse, a promise made in the past, and a secret only she can undercover. Inheritance is a deliciously haunting, mysterious, and passion-filled adventure. Sonya unexpectedly finds out her dad had a twin brother who died and leaves her a haunted mansion that has a curse of brides dying in it. Beautiful ghosts are in this haunted mansion, and one is determined to drive Sonya out. I was on the edge of my seat as we learned who the various ghosts were. Nora can weave a fantastic story that lends itself to many genres. I did not read a Nora Roberts book that can be put firmly in one category; I always find little bits of different ones. I am intrigued to see how our cast of characters will eliminate our terrifying ghost and hopefully lay the rest to a more peaceful afterlife.
What I love more than anything about Nora Roberts writing is her characters and Inheritance is no exception. This is an interesting series starter ghost story that I am very interested in seeing through. That said what a painful place to stop the story! Can’t wait to keep reading though!
Wow, that's all I've got to say, WOW. I have never read Noras Roberts and this book sucked me right in. It is the first in a series. I'll tell you now it is a cliff hanger. I have to read the next book.
Sophie inherits a mansion from an unknown Uncle. Her father was adopted and never knew his biological family. Sophie moves to Maine to the Lost Brides mansion, as the locals call it. Every generation a bride dies just after her wedding or within the year. Sophie must figure out the mystery and break the curse. Her boyfriend Trey, her cousin Owen and her best friend Cleo are right beside her.
This book is awesome. I couldn't put it down. I love the writing style and the story sucked me in and captivated me. I love the characters and the history.
This is a wonderful beginning to a series about a haunted/cursed mansion and the woman that inherits it. The vast history of the "cursed brides" is enthralling and absorbing. The characters are complex and interesting and the book ends on a cliffhanger that makes me want to get a hold of the next book immediately.
Inheritance, the first book of The Lost Bride trilogy starts in 1806 at Astrid Poole's wedding day. Immediately after the wedding, still in her bridal gown, she is murdered, and her wedding ring is torn from her finger. This is just the beginning of what is to come as Roberts expertly blends a centuries-old ghost story with contemporary romance that will keep you turning the pages.
Inheritance will appeal to those who enjoy reading dual timelines with haunted houses, family curses and secrets, mystery, and romance. Do expect a massive cliffhanger ending that will make you wish that you need not have to wait another year for the next book in this trilogy.
Overall I really enjoyed all of the characters, even the villain. Roberts did a fantastic job of breathing life into them and the writing flowed so effortlessly. Between her character and plot development Roberts is truly a captivating story teller.
I received a complimentary copy courtesy of St. Martin's Press through NetGalley. I was not obligated to write a positive review, and all opinions expressed are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advanced audio copy and ebook copy.
Sonya MacTavish has discovered that her late father had a twin brother whom he never knew about. Her uncle Collin, who recently passed away, left her almost everything he owned, including a manor on the coast of Maine. But there's a condition: she must live in the manor for at least three years. With her engagement called off and her job redundant, Sonya, a graphic designer who can work from anywhere, decides to move to the coast.
When Sonya arrives at the clifftop manor, she meets Trey Doyle, a young lawyer. Trey tells her that the place is haunted, which makes her uncomfortable. Trey's father and Collin were best friends, so Trey spent a lot of time in the house while growing up.
Strange things happen in the manor—objects move, music plays, fires roar in the hearths—all without Sonya doing anything. Can she break the curse and bring peace to the lost brides?
I really enjoyed this book and will definitely recommend it to others. As a long-time reader of Nora Roberts, I have read many of her trilogies and can't wait for the next part of this one.
I am new to the Nora Roberts fandom. I am a bit embarrassed because every single novel Ive read I have loved. I read her last trilogy and immediately knew I needed more. Inheritance was not the exception! I loved it, it is a ghost story, but it is also a mystery with fun and romantic elements. I have to admit this: I gasped so loud at the end!!!! Theres have to be a second book!!
I really like Nora Robert’s so this was another one of my favorites! I thought it was incredible and something I would recommend!
Inheritance by Nora Roberts is book 1 in the Lost Bride series. I’ve read and enjoyed many Nora Roberts books in the past, but it’s been years since I read one. This book is spellbinding. It is masterfully written. It will quickly capture your attention and not let go. I could not stop reading it. I don’t typically read books with ghosts because I don’t usually like them. This book had me caring about the wellbeing of the ghosts— a huge difference! Readers of many genres should enjoy this novel. When does book 2 come out?!? I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.
No one spins a story like Nora and this one checked all the boxes for me. Haunted house, a legacy of cursed brides, paranormal romance with a witchy best friend…this story had me from the first pages and I read it straight through. I can’t wait for the next installment!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Just the cover alone of this book has me attracted to it. I listened to the audio version as well.
I absolutely loved this book.
Beautifully written. Nora Robert’s rarely disappoints.
I love the new series from Nora Roberts. She has been trying different things than her normal formula and I am loving it. I can not wait for the next book in this series.
Absolutely loved this book, in true Nora Roberts fashion … it had me from the first chapter. I hate to wait for the 2nd one. I loved the magic / mystery plot !! It definitely takes you to another universe!!
