Book 22 of Tempe and they never seem to get old. I am always hooked with crime solving from the angle of a forensic anthropologist. What the bones can tell you about the person and how they died. Such a fascinating concept for my non-science oriented brain.

This one is set in the tropical paradise of Turks and Caicos. Tempe is lured down by one case and then pulled into a few more. All the new characters in this one still have the quirkiness of the author’s previous books.

There are some old familiarities in this one above Ryan and Tempe. The foreshadowing of what is coming with the use of a quick sentence at the end of the chapter. Sometimes this foreshadowing is quite shocking. Tempe’s cat and any other animals always have a big personality that play a little part in the current story. That we get to see Tempe’s random thoughts as she works through the case. It lets me feel like I know her. And I always love to see where Tempe and Ryan’s relationship is in the book. While only a small part, I love that Tempe’s personal life play into her case solving abilities.

I really enjoyed this latest edition to the series. There is an unexpected death and a few harrowing moments late in the book. I can’t wait for the next installment and more forensic anthropology.

Linda Emond is back as the narrator. To me she is the voice of Tempe. It is an old familiar and she does such a fantastic job bringing her to life.

There's a reason this series has been topping the chart for decades - the fantastic plotting, the relatable characters, and the wonderful writing. Great job, yet again. I will keep on reading anything by Kathy Reichs.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

The Bone Hacker is the twenty-second book in the Temperance Brennan series. In this book, Temperance works in Turks and Caicos on an investigation of missing male tourists.

This is a series that I’ve read for many years, and this latest book doesn’t disappoint. The mysteries continue to be intriguing. Temperance is a strong protagonist with her intelligence, wit, and drive.

The Bone Hacker is an enjoyable addition to the series. Recommended to readers who enjoy crime fiction and medical thrillers.

I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

It's always good news when Kathy Reichs gifts us with a new Temperance Brennan book. Tempe is called to the islands of Turks and Caicos to look into the murders of men who've disappeared on the islands. On the islands, Tempe meets members of law enforcement from various agencies, one of whom winds up dead. Tempe is far from her Montreal home, but her skills are eventually appreciated As usual, there is so much more to the story. We have a detective with a bionic hand, a kosher butcher, an FBI agent MIA, someone who breaks into Tempe's rental condo at night and much more. It's a lot, but I love it when she brainstorms with the big guy. I enjoy reading Kathy Reichs' words and I hate getting to the end of her books. She's one of my favorites and this one reminds me of why. My thanks to the publisher and author for the ARC I received in exchange for my review. If you are of fan of Kathy Reichs (and even if you aren't) you will love it!

As of reading Bone Hacker, I have read the entireity of the Temperance Brennan series. I wish I had a glowing review to leave for this one, but it fell very flat for me. The spark that drove the earlier novels, and dimension to Tempe, seems to have dimmed and fallen away. The case was confusing, despite its exotic location, and had so many pieces to it that I had a hard time keeping up with what evidence went with which case. The pacing was also wildly all over the place. I felt that some things were glossed over, while others (particularly the repetitive explanation of a shochet and the deep dive into Judaic texts) were, while interesting-ish, extremely drawn out. The ending felt incredibly rushed as well. I always look forward to the next installment of the Tempe series, but I fear it may be almost time for her to hang up her lab coat and retire.

The Bone Hacker by Kathy Reichs is a well written mystery. Ms Reichs brings her great knowledge when writing mysteries in this amazing series. I’ve long been a fan of the television series based on her books and I’ve enjoyed a few of the books in this series as well. The descriptions of body parts and crime scenes might be a little too graphic for some. The plot is well worth reading on its own. This mystery is multilayered and complicated. I especially enjoyed the book’s setting in Turks and Caicos. I think the author did a wonderful job bringing this vibrant island community to life. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

This may be one of those series that has just gone on a bit too long. It is a perfectly adequate book but feels the same as most in this series. I also am starting to get a bit impatient with Tempe’s impetuous and honestly sometimes dumb decisions and diaglogue. For a character as educated as her it doesn't ring true that she would be so careless.

A solid okay

For an honest review, I received an ARC.

As a longtime fan of Temperance Brennan, I quickly read this installation. Temperance continues to work to solve the problems of the dead. Heading to Turks and Caicos to help with the investigation of some bodies washed ashore in a boat. Tempe does her thing with the body, the local detective drives her crazy but does he thing. Together the clue lead to the solution. However, I did find it is a little less engaging that some previous books.

I will always read a new release from Reichs.

I loved how this was set in Turks & Caicos. Having visited this place, I loved reading about all the spots I knew. Very interesting plot line.

I am a huge Kathy Reichs fan and love her Temperance Brennan series. The latest book, The Bone Hacker, finds Temperance called in to examine what is left of a person who has been struck by lightning, But she finds an unusual tattoo that sends her to the island of Turks and Caicos. Young men have been disappearing for over seven years. The victims seem to have nothing in common— none seem to have been involved in criminal activity. Tempe finds herself involved in a dangerous web. I loved the story, the characters and cannot wait until the next Tempe book.

The Bone Hacker is book #22 in the Temperance Brennan series. If you haven't read the series I suggest you do, its great! To me this book could have been a stand alone, I think because there were so many new characters. I was good and enjoyable.

I have read all of the books in the Temperance Brennan series and have loved them all! And while you could read this as a standalone, I strongly encourage you to go back to the beginning and read from the first book if this is a new series to you. You will get to know Tempe and the people in her family and life. As always, Kathy Reichs has you sucked into the story from the first page. She will grab hold of you and has you invested in the characters and the story until the very end. There are twists and turns, clues, misguided thoughts, interesting characters. You will be in for a roller coaster ride of emotions and danger as you travel with Tempe to islands of Turks and Caicos. And while you think she is there to assist with one series of murders, Tempe gets drawn into an adventure that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. Grab hold and be ready for a wonderful ride!

Thank you to NetGalley and Scribner for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

The Bone Hacker by Kathy Reichs is another addition to the temperance Brennan series. Although I enjoyed the book for the most part, I was extremely disappointed to see that she included harming an animal. That was a huge deterrence for me. The mystery and investigation were interesting.

Book #22 in this long running fan favorite Temperance Brennan series finds our Forensic Anthropologist working on some very unusual.....unusual for everyone except Tempe.....murder clues that will leave her as a target for a serial killer, again. After 21 books, Kathy Reichs still manages to set Tempe into crime scenes that defy explanation by anyone but her. The stories are well plotted, Tempe is an excellent character who will not be under estimated by anyone more than once, and the reveals are always a surprise that will leave you turning back pages to see where you missed the clues. If you've not read any of this series, you can start with this one. Just plan a serious binge weekend or two to catch up with the others.

Tempe solves a few murders in this story set in Turks/Caicos. The medical jargon wasn’t as prevalent in this story of which I was grateful. Once again another great one from Reichs!

Thank you Netgalley for the advance reader copy of The Bone Hacker by Kathy Reichs in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book in her Temperance Brennan series. I've seen the show Bones, but have to admit this is my first book by Kathy Reichs. I absolutely adore the show itself, and found Temperance's character to be mostly like what I expected. There were some surprises for me though. Temperance goes to the Turks and Caicos to investigate one set of remains, only to find herself helping Detective Musgrove in her own investigation, and what unfolds is a story that is so surreal and simply a stunner that keeps you guessing to the very end. Loved it, and will now have to go back and read the other books in the series.

The Bone Hacker is the 22nd book in the Temperance Brennan series by former forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs. She certainly uses her medical training to write about what she knows. Brennan is a no nonsense kind of woman who is smart and always getting into predicaments. This one is different because it is set in Turks and Caicos which made it a great beach read. This book series has been one of my all time favorites and this one didn't disappoint. There were a couple of different mysteries that Brennan must solve and she does so with some help from new friends. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a good mystery with interesting details about forensic anthropology.
