I absolutely enjoyed this book! It was so Christmassy cozy, a wintery feeler the scenery of the book. Likeable characters. Five stars!
I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. I was able to find the audio version through my local library.
This was a cute fun read. I will say that the cover is a bit deceptive, due to Christmas happens and passes at the very beginning on the novel. So I thought I was reading a Christmas novel but no... It mostly just takes place during winter time not Christmas. So that was a let down. I saved it because I saw the cover and wanted to read a Christmas novel. Anyways besides that the story itself is very cute and I liked it a lot due to it wasn't over the top complicated and predictable like a Hallmark type movie etc. Highly recommend and I would. Read from this author again.
29-year-old Lexi inherits three fishermen's cottages after her mother's death, her only source of income. However, she's stunned when Scottish businessman, Oliver Whimsy, claims he bought them from Lexi's father. Suspicious of her father's new girlfriend's role in the sale, Lexi is left jobless and homeless. Oliver, showing a softer side, offers Lexi a typing job and lets her stay in a cottage. Despite the island community's initial reservations about Oliver, Lexi discovers his true, kind-hearted nature and learns why he was so drawn to the cottages.
This is brilliantly penned by Georgina. She captivates you right from the beginning with her inviting and heartwarming narrative. While reading, it felt less like going through a book and more like a conversation with a dear friend. Georgina's vivid descriptions made "The Broadwalk By The Sea" come to life, tempting me to vacation there instantly. I felt immersed in the story, a testament to her genuine storytelling. This book was a pure joy to read, and by the end, I felt comforted, akin to sipping a warm beverage.
A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.
This book was renamed and resubmitted to netgalley by the publisher. It is now Snow Angels on the Boardwalk

Zip up your puffer coat, winter has arrived!
When Lexi Davies discovers that her father has sold the fishermen’s cottages she runs as holiday lets and where she also lives, she is heartbroken. Then Oliver Whimsy arrives at the boardwalk and announces that he is the new owner and Lexi realises that the future she was looking forward to enjoying at her cottages is over. Oliver might be handsome, wealthy and very sexy, but he’s new to the island and has already made a terrible impression on the locals. When the Scottish entrepreneur offers Lexi a job, she’s unsure whether she should accept. Unfortunately, she has little alternative if she wants to keep a roof over her head for the winter.
As Lexi gets to know him better, she discovers there’s far more to Oliver Whimsy than she or anyone else had imagined. Just what is the heartache Oliver’s trying so desperately to hide? And why was he so determined to buy the cottages? Lexi wants to find out, but in order to do so she’s going to have to spend rather a lot of time with him…
My Opinion
It was nice to visit The Boardwalk By The Sea again, whilst this is the third book in the series it could easily be read as a standalone - although for the best experience it would be better to read them in order.
This was a quick and easy read. With the cold weather described in this book I would recommend having a blanket on hand. So far, I have enjoyed reading this series and I am looking forward to seeing what comes in the next book.
Rating 4/5
Even though I hadn’t read the others in this series it didn’t make any difference as I picked up the characters really easily. The story was sweet and gentle and flowed along like a gentle stream. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
Back on the boardwalk with book 3
This time we focus on Lexi who inherited the 3 cottages which she rents out from her mum until her dad sells them behind her back to Oliver who we very briefly met in book 2.
Lexi is understandably furious and upset as she is going to be homeless and jobless and is wondering what she is going to do next
Oliver can’t believe she didn’t know what was going on so tries to help
I think the book can be read as a stand alone but as some of the characters appear in previous books it might make some parts clearer
This is the third entry in The Boardwalk by the Sea series and you may find it helpful to read the first two books, as many of the same characters make an appearance here. This is a gentle and sweet romance that begins when Lexi discovers that her father has sold the three cottages she manages as holiday rentals to Oliver who did not make a great impression when they met a few months earlier. Faced with an uncertain future, Lexi tries to make the best of the situation.
I would just like to say a very big thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for forwarding me a copy of this book for my Kindle in return for an honest review.
Even though this book is part of a four book series, I did read it without reading the others and was still able to follow what was happening.
Lexi and her friends were wonderful characters and I loved how everything was beautifully described and made it all very heart warming.
This was a wonderful Winter story - with a tiny hint of whimsy!!!
An enjoyable holiday read, especially for anyone off to Jersey! This is part of a series and the reader may benefit from reading the books in order. Lovely descriptions of the coastal setting.
Well I must say this one came to me a the perfect time as I was on holiday, the weather wasn't always the best (cold and rainy) and what better way to spend some indoor time than to read a good 'Winter' book.
The title got me right from the start (love it!) and the story itself is such an easy and fun story with a bit of romance, a bit of family drama and heartache and friendship. It is a book that has a bit of everything. I loved that it wasn't too long but still long enough to have substance.
The setting takes you to to a place you may have never been, the characters are people who may already be a part of your life and it had all the charm and cosiness to keep me happy.
An easy to read, fun, feel good book that I really enjoyed on a cold and rainy day.
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
A gorgeous book for the Christmas season, full of whim, mystery, and drama, as well as romance and a engaging storyline filled with great characters.
Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
I’ve loved reading the previous books in the series. This was a lovely, cozy mystery, Christmas season read.
Lexi’s Mom recently passed away. Lexi carries on with the hiring of the three seasonal cottages, which were left to her by her mother. The money she gets from that is the only income she has coming in.
Then Oliver turns up at her cottage and she finds out that her father has sold the three cottages to him, without informing her first.
Olivier gives Lexi a job, as a typist and lets her stay in a cottage.
I recommend this book.
G|ood story with a winter setting but it doesn't have to just be read during the colder months. Romance a little slow but apart form that a good read. 4 stars
Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this arc
A comfortable, predictable read but too much detail on the little things, not my thing unfortunately but others will possibly enjoy it
This was so good, just what I needed. This was like a warm winter hug for my heart. I loved this so much!

I read this ARC for honest feedback.
I enjoyed the overall story of Oliver and Lexi. However, I also felt that the story veered away from crucial plot points sometimes. The situation with Lexi's father and girlfriend is one of those points, as is the plot with her friend, Jack. It feels like those two points were thrown in without much else, leaving you wondering what was going on. I also felt like some of the dialogue between characters felt awkward and forced at times.
Another fairy cute story with the Jersey boardwalk setting. More new characters introduced and some dubious characters as well. The romance wasn’t very romantic, not much happening there. But a nice quirky village to read about.
BLURB: When Lexi Davies discovers that her father has sold the fishermen’s cottages that she lives in and runs as holiday lets, she is furious and heartbroken. Lexi realises that her whole future at her beloved cottages is now over.
New owner, handsome, Scottish entrepreneur Oliver Whimsy arrives on the island in a blaze of glory and immediately upsets the locals.
When he offers Lexi her old job, she’s unsure whether to accept but needing a roof over her head for the winter, she finds herself stuck between a rock and a hard place. Pride does not pay the bills.
As they get to know one another, there’s far more to Oliver Whimsy than she or anyone else had imagined.
What heartache is Oliver trying so desperately to hide from?
And why was he so determined to buy the cottages?
Lexi is on a mission to find out…
REVIEW: This was a cute read. Set on a small island, the book follows Lexi and Oliver, and a supporting cast of likeable characters.
Finding out her father had sold her livelihood to Oliver was a shock for Lexi, but is Oliver really as bad as everyone seems to think? It was nice getting to know both Lexi and Oliver better and I enjoyed the way their romance blossomed.
I’ve never heard of this author, but this is book three in a series, and can obviously be read as a stand-alone. A sweet, easy, fuss-free read, easily finished in an hour.
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this in return for my honest review.
