This was a lovely story about Sadie, who dreams of taking over her family’s horticulture business when her father retires. Her true love was horticulture, and Sam (a less than wealthy horticulturist himself)…which did not made her father happy. Will Sadie get to be with the love of her life, or will she marry Henry to save the nursery? You will have to listen or read to find out :)

I LOVE historical fiction, and I also really enjoy when an author bases a story on real life. This one is about Joy Callaway’s ancestors. The fact that this is all as close to truth as possible makes it even more beautiful! This story was so good, the detail and plot development was fantastic - I definitely recommend!

I totally enjoyed All the Pretty Places! It was like sitting or strolling through a Beautiful garden & listening to a love story. You could almost smell & touch the beauty of the garden. I love how she shared her family history with us about the book. It made it even more special. My first time with this Author. I'm excited for more of her books.

While I typically do not read love stories, I was fascinated with the historical premise of this book. @joywcal knocked it out of the park with this historical fiction novel. This book is a love letter to flowers, gardens, and parks. It also has a strong message about creating community and transcending the socioeconomic standing that you are born into. My flower loving heart could not love this story more, so of course I’ve already pre-ordered this book and recommend either the book or audiobook!

Thank you @harpermusebooks and @netgalley for allowing me to listen to this audiobook ahead of publication in exchange for my honest review.

Callaway evidently based this Gilded Age novel on her own ancestors; the story centers around Sadie Fremd, a young woman from”new money”. After her parents immigrated to the United States they began a successful landscaping and gardening business and Sadie, who loves the natural world is keen to follow in their footsteps, even as her brothers strike out on their own endeavors. Unfortunately, the stock market crash of 1890 hit her little town hard and the resulting fallout causes Sadie to look at the world and her social standing through different eyes. Using her love of nature, she works to find a way to bring the healing power of plants and the natural world to all the citizens of her small town. Lush and entertaining

I am not usually a romance person so I was sitting there the entire time I was listening going "just marry the richest jerk! Just do it! Get that money" but our girl is not a gold digger and she refuses to do it.
It was so good though. I am a museum and library person and the only parks I think about are cemeteries. After reading this I want to go to city commission meetings and demand new parks. Stop building more apartments and give us some parks!
The narrator was perfect and I absolutely loved this story. It is based on genealogical information and I can tell the author put a lot of work into this. I would recommend this to anyone.
