Well-drawn characters and superb writing. A master class in crime noir, as good as anything by Raymond Chandler, but with a modern sensibility.
I AM SO EMBARRASSED ... JUST NOW FINDING THIS ONE ON MY KINDLE/AMAZON. WAS NEVER READ SO NO REVIEW COMING AT THIS LATE DATE. MY SINCERE APOLOGIES.
First, make sure you have read first in series, THE LAST KIND WORDS (Terrier Rand book #1)Then sit down and enjoy this book.(Terrier Rand book2) It matters.
Terrier Rand is having a problem. It isn't cancer or something medical. It isn't legal, no cops on his tail. It's his conscience. As a reader, I didn't think anyone in his family could have one! Coming home means something different when you are a Rand. It's a family of rather offbeat criminals who drag him into things, too. Not a dull moment in sight! And if you like heavy drama and one bad guy or situation after another testing our "hero," oh you will love this.
