Heart pounding thriller that left me on the edge of my seat. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. Definitely one of the best books this year.
The Bedroom Window by K.L Slater
A great idea for a book , new neighbours move in and befriend the family with a little bit called Albie but it's not long before his mum begins to feel creeper out by the new neighbours.
A good plot , if sometimes a little hard to follow ,a few twists to keep the reader interested and invested but if I'm being honest , not their best book.
Having said that I would read further titles as the author certainly knows how to write a good psychological thriller.
The Bedroom Window by K.L. Slater, published by Bookouture, is a full-length, stand-alone read. A thriller of its finest tells the story of Lotti, Neil, Albie and other relatives.
A story that gave me goosebumps reading it, suspemseful had me guessing til the last page, raw, gritty, literally unputdownable through all the twists and turns the author lead the reader. A fatnastic book, 5 stars.
I did enjoy this book, but there were certain plot holes, which somewhat spoiled the ending for me. I also thought there was a lot of repetition in Lottie’s thoughts and I feel that a more brutal editing would have tightened up the narrative. I always look forward to reading books by this author, but, although good, it wasn’t her best.
This is another fabulous page turner by K.L Slater. I was enthralled from page 1. There were so many twists throughout this book, and the writing is easy and absorbing.
This is a must read for anyone who likes this author or genre.
The Bedroom Window
They say they have no children. So who did I see at the window?
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to preview this book!
I gave this book 3 stars. I really liked this book’s description. Even though this is the first book I have read by this author, I heard positive things and I was eager to read this book!
Unfortunately , I was disappointed that it took more than half the book before anything really happened. The first half of the book was full of unnecessary details where instead it could have filled in plot holes. I did like the story when it picked up but as I said it was a long start and a lot of details were missing. I felt that the main twist was a bit predictable but the ending I didn’t see coming.
Overall, the story by itself was interesting but I feel it could go further.
Holy mother. I was completely lost, so many things going on at once but by the end, everything came together and made sense. I absolutely loved this book and was wishing for more. I’ve never read anything like this. The secrets every character had, shocked me so much. Pick it up and read it. You won’t regret it.
I really liked this book. Lots twists, but the ending could have been so much better!! I was hoping they actually had the kid or some other kid captive. The fact that it was the mom was just weird and random.
creepy story i just loved the book and i couldnt stop reading it it had a lot of chapters but it was so good thank you!
I am with out a doubt a KL Slater fan since discovering her books last summer through netgalley. I found this book unique and intriguing and read it very quickly. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters and would definitely recommend this book. Thanks to netgalley and bookouture for sending me a copy of this arc in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you so much to Bookouture and Netgalley for a chance to read this book before it’s due out May 19!
This is a 3.5 star book in my opinion. I was extremely excited to read this book due to loving other books by this author.
This book was an intriguing and unique ride! I found the story of this book to be unique however I think the execution could have been better. It went back and forth between past and present for some of the characters and with that there were a lot of plot holes. I found myself realizing there were many storylines left unanswered.
This book is definitely worth the read as it did have a lot of good twists and turns that kept me reading!
After a miraculous recovery from an accident at work that left him maybe not able to walk again Neil gets a job as a head Landscape gardener at Seaspray house. With his wife Lottie and son Albie it will be a fresh start for them both. Not only after what he has been through. But, for son Albie that has been bullied at school.
When they arrive, they see Seaspray house as a very modern building not really blending into the surround areas but has fantastic views over the sea. Their living quarters is a small cottage nearby and fom one of the upstairs rooms has the views of Seaspray House.
When Neil goes to work Lottie is left to unpack. Lottle is left alone to spend her day. She get nosey when she strange things going on at Sea spray house with the help of her binoculars. When she finds an haf written letter in one of the drawers she senses something isn’t right. And what happened to the previous occupants of the cottage. After speaking to the locals. That previous occupants did a moon night flit, never to be seen again. As she delves further, things about her own past come to light.
Thank you Bookoutre for a copy of the bedroom window. I have read all the author’s books and I am always intrigued to see what next; she has in store for us. This story is quite slowly paced but full of tension and intrigue and mystery about it and the couple at Seaspray House had a ‘Stepford wife’ vibe about them. I couldn’t really say that any of the characters were lovable as they were really as bad as each other. 4 stars from me.
Well another excellent read by this great author, great story great charecters, dragged me in at the beginning and spat me out spent at the end, loved it
Lottie, Neill and their son Albie are excited to move house for Neill's new job and at first his employers seem to be great neighbours to them. Then Lottie begins to notice strange things, like how they are never invited inside the house, and the toys that are around even though they say they have no children... Then Lottie looks out the window and sees a shadowy figure in their bedroom... who are they hiding in their home?
A thrilling, tense and creepy story that keeps you turning the pages until the shocking ending. Lots of twists and turns and shocks. Brilliant!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.
With multiple bestsellers to her name, Kim Slater knows how to craft a fascinating and compelling story! The Bedroom Window is no exception as you are led to believe one thing only to have the plot turn on its head and reveal the truth. Another Wow! read for me!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC!
K.L. Slater’s The Bedroom Window is jaw-dropping from the very first chapter! This is my 16th book by this author, and I always look forward to the next one. Lottie and Neil move with their young son Albie to the caretaker’s cottage on an expansive English property, Seaspray House, owned by Ted and Neeta. Lottie took care of her husband after he suffered a shattering injury, however he has improved enough to take this job as head landscaper. It is clear early on that Neil and Lottie are both keeping secrets from each other as well as from the reader! Ted and Neeta, the homeowners, appear extremely welcoming. They particularly enjoy taking Albie under their wing and constantly babysit and give him gifts. This gives Lottie time to work outside the home. Lottie is very “nosy;” she spies on Ted and Neeta at the big house from her upstairs window. Lottie comes from a troubled background. It is soon clear to Lottie that something sinister is going on, and she believes someone else is also in Seaspray House despite all insistences to the contrary. There is a parallel storyline from the past, and K.L. Slater is masterful at slowly moving the reader along in this tense, claustrophobic atmosphere until she brings on the shocking conclusion! Keep on writing please!
With thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC. My opinions are my own.
I love all of K.L. Slater's books and this one didn't disappoint! The storyline drew me in and had some twists I didn't see coming!
Overall another great book from the author!
Thank you Net Galley for allowing me to read and review this book!
This book was very good as I had a sneaky feeling that I would
It was about a boy called Alfie and I thought Shadowy figure in the window
What has happened
I had an ARC
I was gripped by The Bedroom Window from the start. The tag line is ‘They say they have no children. So who did I see last night?’ The novel tells the tale of Lottie, Neil and their nine year old son Albie. Seeking a new start, they move to a cottage in the grounds of Seaspray Estate where Neil is due to begin work. The estate owners and Neil’s employers seem too good to be true, offering them a cottage on the grounds for peppercorn rent, providing free childcare for Albie but to Lottie there’s something strange about them but Neil can’t understand her concerns. One night Lottie sees a shadowy figure at a bedroom window. A room that shouldn’t be occupied and she begins to wonder what else the couple could be hiding. A gripping thriller that will keep you enthralled to the end. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the chance review.
Another great book from KL Slater, they just keep getting better and better, continues on writing books which are great
