Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advance copy of The Bedroom Window by K.L. Slater in exchange for my honest review and opinion. I love anything written by K.L. Slater so I couldn't wait to begin this! It was so good that I couldn't put it down. As typical, lots of twists and turns that will leave you wondering what is going to happen next. Prepare yourself for the crazy ending! So good!
I enjoyed this book, I was kept engaged and curious to find out exactly what was going on in the house.
Loved the characters and storyline. K.L Slater never disappoints, one of my favourite authors. Can't wait for the next one.
I can always rely on K.L. Slater for a twisty page-turning thriller. And this one was no exception. I read it in two sittings and loved every moment. Perfect escapism.
KL Slater is one of my favourite authors! This book was great I couldn't put it down & read it in a day!!!
K L Slater is one of my favourite authors, so I just knew I was going to enjoy this one too. I couldnt put it down. The characters were so unlikeable and of course it was unpredictable.
Gripping, shocking and hard to put down! The Bedroom Window is a suspenseful and captivating psychological thriller about a family who relocates for a job only to find that their new beginning may not be all that they hoped for.
A bit of a slow burn to begin with but once it picked up it was a great read. Packed full of suspense and twists it was difficult to predict where the story was going and I was kept on the edge of my seat right through to the surprising end.
If you're a fan of psychological thrillers this is a must read.
#TheBedroomWindow #NetGalley This was the first book that I have read by this author. It was a bit of a slow burner at first but when it picked up the pace it was full of twists and turns and an ending I didn't see coming. A good read and I shall look for more books from this author in the future.
This was the slowest thriller I've read in a long time. I've enjoyed other books from this author but this one just didn't cut it for me. It took me a long time to get interested in the book. It only picked up a tiny bit at the end but not enough for me to recommend this book. Thank you to the author, publisher and netgalley for a free copy. I'm leaving my honest review voluntarily.
This is one of the best books from KL Slater. I didn’t like some of her previous books, but this one was a real page turner making me want to find out what was going to happen next. The beginning was a little slow, but the ending was really exciting. I would definitely recommend this book.

This was the first novel I read by K.L. Slater, and I am looking forward to more now! It was a slow burn, but also quite twisty as the plot picked up pace. A fun, quick read!
Neil has a new job as Estate Manager/Head Gardener at Seaspray House. A year ago he had an horrific accident that left him paralysed. His wife Lottie became his carer as it was thought that he would never walk again. But he has now made a full recovery and landed this new job. Lottie is pleased to be moving as their son Albie has been bullied at his school and believes that this will be a fresh start for them all. They are living in a small cottage next to Seaspray House which is also owned by Neil’s new employers Ted and Neeta. They seem too good to be true as they readily offer to help mind Albie as they were unable to have children. Neil is very grateful for all their help but Lottie is very suspicious about them. But when she witnesses some suspicious activity from her bedroom window and sees someone in their house when it is empty she becomes obsessed they they are hiding something and are not who they seem to be. Why did the last tenants of the cottage suddenly leave under a cloud? As the story unfolds Lottie is drawn into a game of deception and betrayal and worries for the safety of her family. This is another gripping read from K L Slater and a highly recommended read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Another great book by Slater. Great thriller that was well written and kept me guessing. Always love Slater’s books.
Gosh I love a good KL Slater book, devoured this in a day and can’t wait for the next one, as always smashed it out the hall park, brilliant a must read!!!
Wow, this book was surprisingly twisted! I read it so quickly because I had to know what was going on. Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC!
K L Slater's book takes me out of my reading slump. The Story of The Bedroom Window takes place in a small town near York. Lottie and her family moved to Nottingham and are grateful for the opportunity they got from their employers. Neil and Lottie's move helps them settle unresolved issues amongst them. Neil is employed as a landscape artist for the Seaspray Mansion.
Seaspray Mansion is a beautiful house with an intimidating presence and a mysterious persona. With subtle changes that are happening around her, she feels frustrated, especially since Neil doesn't notice and tell her she is being paranoid. Along with Lottie, the readers also embark on a journey to find out the truth about the mansion and its owner.
The book deals with a lot of sensitive topics including, mental health, addiction, and how social standards cloud our judgment. Given the story is set in a small village, it has a small pool of characters. Neil and Lottie narrate the story. And there is another timeline from 25 years ago. The book picks up the pace gradually.
The ending, however, is a complete surprise and will blow the reader's mind.
Overall, it is a 4 star read.
Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher for the copy of the book.
This was such a clever book, and I enjoyed all the twists and turns throughout the story. The antagonists were truly awful (that’s a good thing) - it made the book hard to put down because I needed to see what would happen! Definitely recommend this one.
This is yet another brilliant book from K. L. Slater. This book was suspenseful, well paced, and compelling, and kept me up well past my bedtime. There were twists aplenty and an underlying sense of unease whenever the neighbours appeared. Of course every time I put my amateur detective skills to use, the author threw the plot in another direction proving I’m less Consulting Detective Sherlock Holmes and more Lieutenant Frank Drebin of Naked Gun fame.
Lottie and Neil were likeable, while Neeta and Ted, both nice enough, kept bringing up the hairs on the back of my neck. All the characters felt credible, and Neil’s wanting to have a fresh start after such awful work related injuries felt relatable.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I think it’s my favourite from this author to date. I can’t write a review like this without obviously recommending the book to any readers of suspenseful, psychological thrillers. I gave The Bedroom Window, by K. L. Slater, five stars, and can’t wait to see what she writes next.
