K l slater never disappoints. The cover draws you in .A family have relocated after a hard few years working on the state of the big house. Their new employers seems perfect until little things start adding up. Their reluctance to let anyone into their big house. Then the view from the bedroom window .
A gripping thriller but a slow burner. I particularly enjoyed the emphasis on relationships told from different characters point on view.. It hooked me in more as I could see the story from their point of view and feel their emotions.I was given just enough info about some characters to keep invested in them and it was skillfully dripped in tge right places.
As always the end came too quickly . Can't wait for the next one.
A solid 5 star. Highly recommended. Thank you net gallery.and bookculture for my arc
After a tough couple of years, Neil receives an amazing offer as a grounds keeper. After moving into the provided cottage, which has a view into the boss’ house from their upstairs window, Neil’s wife Lotti starts to see things that make her question everything about this new arrangement.
This is a story full of betrayal, childhood trauma and a twisted ending. The character were flawed and not very likable, but the story itself was interesting,

Lottie and Neil are beginning a new life about two years after Neil suffered a debilitating accident. Now back to almost full health, Neil gets a job as a head caretaker for a wealthy couple named Ted and Neeta. This means that the couple and their small son Albie have moved inter a cottage on the property where Neil will be working. Things seem bleak at the start, but there is promise, even if the couple who own the property seem to be hiding secrets.
One particular window in their cottage affords Lottie the opportunity to see into her neighbor’ home. In fact, she can’t stop observing. The couple that her husband is working for are said to be childless, but Lottie feels differently. She believes there’s a child in the home, and she cannot understand why they’ve never seen the child under any circumstances.
During the course of time, Neeta becomes the child minder for Albie, but Lottie does not really trust the situation. In fact, she does not trust Neeta at all and is determined to discover their secrets and why they are hiding them. Factor in deception and some flashbacks to a couple of decades ago, and things slowly come together. Some shocking twists are revealed, leading to a thrilling conclusion.
Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest
The Bedroom Window is full of secrets, suspense, I couldn't out my kindle down, another great book I recommend by K. L Slater.
I loved this book and could not put it down! The plot sounded intriguing but I was convinced it was going to boring and drag but I am happy to say I was completely wrong. This was a quick read with twists and turns with most I did not see coming. I definitely recommend this one for fans of thrillers and will be reading more of Slater's books.
K L Slater is one of my go to authors, she knows how to write a good family drama! I liked the dual timeline in this although I realised right away who the characters from the past were, not sure if it was supposed to be a surprise.
Plenty of red herrings here and it was a genuine surprise to me what the couple were hiding. Quite a sad story ultimately.
Lottie, Neil & their son Albie have had a rough time. Neil has come back from a serious accident that led to doubt he would walk again never mind do the landscape work he loves. Albie has been bullied & become withdrawn & Lotte has struggled to keep the family going. When Neil gets a job as head gardener in a big house on the coast with a cosy cottage included the family jump at the chance of a new beginning.
As Albie goes to school & Neil starts work Lottie is left with time on her hands. As she unpacks she sees the beautiful modern house on the cliff. Seaspray doesn't seem to fit in but she is dying to see inside. Neil's new bosses Ted & Neeta are very welcoming. Albie is really taken with them- especially when Ted offers to help him renovate a tree house on the estate. But they never get invited inside Seaspray. This piques Lottie's curiosity, especially when she finds a half written letter from the person who used to live in their cottage- why did they leave so suddenly? Soon she becomes convinced there is someone else living there & spying on Seaspray becomes an obsession. The narrative switches to another Point of view & time. This time the view of Charlie a long while ago.
As always the story draws you in. I must admit I really didn't take to Lottie & felt sorry for Neil & Albie. I was totally hooked as I have been with all of K. L. Slater's books Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.
I am a huge K.L. Slater fan! I love this author so much. Once again, the author wrote an amazing book that I couldn’t put down. The characters were interesting, unreliable, and well developed. The premise and plot were also well developed. I couldn’t put this book down!
Intriguing, thrilling, and unputdownable. Those are the words that aptly describe the first part of the book. I couldn't wait to find out what secrets Lottie's and Neil's employers were hiding. Why would they not let anyone in their sprawling glass mansion? However, the second part of this book was a little too hard to believe. Yes, I know you should suspend disbelief when watching a movie or reading a book, but this one was too far out. Hence, the 2-star rating.

“Someone has been watching me.”
Lottie is relieved when her husband, Neil, recovers from his accident. Even more so when he is offered a great job with a nice salary and a cottage for them; it’s the fresh start they all need. Until Lottie realizes she can see into Neeta and Ted’s house from the bedroom. Now she is waiting to see what secrets are revealed.
This was quite the ride. The twists, turns, and secrets were well executed and kept the plot moving.
The characters were all well-developed. Lottie was a bit of a nosy neighbor, but she felt justified. Neil just wanted to get back to some semblance of normal. Neeta and Ted want to appear like a golden couple. Everyone has secrets.
The way this story was told was interesting. I enjoyed the alternating timelines and the development of the plot. The storyline was unique, and the twist was well done. I did not see it coming.
This started as a slower burn but quickly picked up to the point the book became difficult to put down.
The Bedroom Window was a fascinating read. It was extremely gripping as the plot thickened and more things came uncovered.
Lottie moves to a cottage far from home with her husband and son. They arrive there with hopes of starting a new life for themselves. They also come holding a golden ticket: Employment at the Williamses house grounds and a cottage to stay in right beside it as well as an amazing view to look at whenever they want. But Lottie notices that some things are amiss. Neeta and Ted don't seem like the perfect couple everyone thinks they are and whose shadow did Lottie see in their house when they say no one else lives there with them?
I enjoyed reading The Bedroom Window. Lottie is definitely an intriguing and fast-thinking protagonist when it comes to psychological thrillers. In my opinion, her point of view was written very well and I think that everything was in place as she ventured deeper into her new life beside the Williamses.
I felt that the ending was a bit rushed. There really could have been a bit more build up between the last chapter and the epilogue. I think that, the suspense could've been stretched out longer. I also felt disappointed at the plot holes that came around towards the end. It was as if something big was being built up from the beginning of the book only to find out that it's a lose thread with no destination. On the other hand, some of the twists in here were very astonishing and surprising. Some were expected and predictable but it was still very interesting to see how each one was carried out and dealt with.
The relationships depicted in this book were all very real and raw. The heaviness in Lottie and Neil's relationship and how it progressed because of the influence of their neighbours felt like a flash of reality. It made me appreciate the depth the author put into these relations and their chemistries and how Lottie navigated through them with this new change in their lives.
I thank NetGalley and the author for this copy in exchange for my honest review.
The Bedroom Window is a slow-burnt psychological thriller and it catches up the pace in the middle of the story plot. Lottie and her husband Neil were moving from Nottingham to a new area in order to start a new page of life, since their son Albie was bullied at school. The new house, school and job worked out really ideal, however, one day Lottie saw a shadowy figure in their bedroom window.
The Williamses - Ted and Neeta - were the landlord of the cottage and Ted was also Neil's new boss. One day when Lottie was trying to ask about the previous tenant, she felt the landlord was avoiding to the question. Also, her husband Neil and son Albie were getting closer to the Williamses made Lottie felt left out.
The story included secrets, trust, childhood trauma, revenge and friendship. It was a well-balanced story with a twisty ending, but I expected more from the "bedroom window" (more like spying on the neighbour).
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in return for an honest review.
There’s not a K.L. Slater that I haven’t enjoyed reading, now including this one. Gripping from the very first page to the last, so immersed in the drama, that when I got to the end I had forgotten it had started at this moment.
Lottie and her husband and son Albie have just moved into a new town and house that goes with her husbands new job, but from the off there is something not quite right with their new neighbours, who happen to be employing her husband to tend the grounds round their magnificent home. Behind closed doors they lead a different life, there seems to be someone else inside and Lottie is never allowed in. What are they hiding?
The story also goes back twenty years to when Lottie was thirteen and friends with Claire and to her mother who was a drunk who never cared for her daughter or at least not as much as Claire, who she was getting paid to look after. But something massive happened back then, something to make Lotties mum disappear one day and never to return.
I was a little disappointed with the revelation when it came, it missed that big impact effect. I had guessed at some of it already, the reason why was a bit out there, though the ending was good and gruesome in equal measures. Gruesomely good.
I really did not enjoy this one. I found all the characters to be so unlikeable, and none of them to be fleshed out enough. All of the twists were very predictable and left me feeling underwhelmed. The book dragged, and the pacing was all over the place. Definitely not for me
K.L. Slater's writing never disappoints. This was a gripping story from the very beginning with lots of twists that I wasn't expecting . This is a book I highly recommend.
Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this brilliant ARC
I really did want to enjoy this read, but it just did not hit the mark for me. Don’t get me wrong, there was a wide range of characters that did have interesting back stories, and were initially quite intriguing. That being said, I wish that there was more information about some of their back stories at the start of the book. For example, Lottie and Neil’s relationship turmoil just felt like it was randomly thrown in there, and just felt like a random filler to hit the word count. It would have worked a lot better, having had some more information at the start, to build up to it.
It didn’t quite get my attention as much as I had initially thought it would. The premise was very interesting, and in hindsight it was executed well. The last 30% of the book did get quite dark, and it was fast paced. I wish the rest of the book felt like it.
This story was off to a running start. It has a diabolical plot and some really unlikeable characters. The story is well written by a gifted author. It totally captivates you and you are consumed by this mesmerizing tale until the bitter end.
Enjoyed this book but did guess the ending so this detracted slightly from my enjoyment.
Lottie, her husband Neil and son Allie get a fresh start at the seaside. Neil is the new estates manager for Ted and Neeta at their stunning estate. Lottie struggles from day one as something isn’t right on the estate and why is Neeta so interested in their son.
I liked the twists and turns as Lottie tries to decide what is going on. Neil has secrets and thinks she is being paranoid.

K.L. Slater writes amazing psychological thrillers and The Bedroom Window is one of her best. The Bedroom Window is about a family that has been through a lot the past couple of years and decide to move and make a fresh start. Lotte, Neil, and Albie are moving into a seaside cottage on the grounds of the large home Neil will be working for. Neil was injured on the job 2 years ago and it was so serious that doctor's told him he may never walk again. Lotte had to quit her job to take care of him. It took a lot out of her and Neil was very depressed during those dark days. Albie, their son, took it hard and his entire personality changed. He went from an outgoing boy to an introvert and started getting bullied at school. Once Neil started improving with extensive therapy, his outlook improved. After 2 years he was finally on his feet and feeling like he could work again. He put his resume' on various websites and one got back to him with a a job offer.
Ted and Neeta Williams are looking for a groundskeeper/caretaker for their property, Seaspray House, and reach out to Neil. Neil is thrilled with the offer and the location so he and his family move. Lotte is thrilled that Neil is excited again and that Albie will start over at a new school not having to worry about bullies. She is even thinking that maybe in time she will be able to look for a job again. When they arrive at the cottage it's even nicer than they thought but a bit on the small side. They can make it work though and think of it as cozy. When Neil starts his job, he finds that Ted built him his own office building with bathroom and shower. It's got a coffee maker, refrigerator, and heat/ac. Neil has a staff that he's in charge of as the grounds are quite extensive. He loves the work and can't believe his luck getting this job!
Lotte walks with Albie for his first day of school and immediately run into a single mom, Keris, and her daughter. Albie and the daughter become instant friends as she shows him fossils she's found. She shows Albie where to find them. They are in the same grade and it will be so nice for Albie to already have a friend. Lotte really likes Keris and they exchange numbers for play dates, etc. Albie loves his new school and is happier than he's been in a long time. He loves living close to the beach and he's even had Lotte sign him up for surf lessons! Things are going so well. Neil comes home from work one day and tells Lotte that Ted and Neeta would be happy for Albie to come up to Seaspray House after school. Ted wants to build a treehouse with Albie and give him some jobs that he can earn some money for. Lotte isn't sure about this, but decides they'll try it. If she doesn't have to be home for Albie, Lotte decides she can look for a job. She finds a job quickly after applying online for 2 clerical positions. She gets a job for a sportswear company and has to work late a couple nights a week. She hopes this won't be a problem for Ted and Neeta watching Albie.
Everything seems so perfect, right? Things are rarely what they appear. Lotte starts noticing that Ted and Neeta never invite them inside the house. They barely crack the door when you knock. What are they hiding? There's a tension between Ted and Neeta that doesn't seem like they're in love, but rather put up with one another. Why are they pretending to be happy in front of others? Is it Lotte's imagination or does Neeta have eyes for Neil? Why does Albie love going to Seaspray House so much and not enjoy spending time at their cottage with his mom? What is Neil hiding from Lotte? When the truth comes out will it destroy them? What is Lotte hiding from Neil? Will he forgive her? Who are Ted and Neeta and why did Neil really get the job? Will Lotte's past come back to haunt her?
This is a fantastic book that you'll have trouble putting down! There are many twists to the story that will keep you guessing. I rate The Bedroom Window 4 stars and give it a high recommendation for anyone that enjoys a good thriller. I'd like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy of The Bedroom Window in exchange for a fair review. #TheBedroomWindow
Another rollercoaster of a read from an author who doesn’t disappoint!
Lottie is starting afresh. Together with her husband Neil and son Alfie, a new life has beckoned in the form of a brilliant job for Neil along with accommodation in the grounds of the employers’ home. It’s been a rough few years after Neil suffered an accident at work that left him temporarily paralysed before Lottie nursed him back to health. A fresh start is just what is needed. Or is it? Is this rosy new future all that it’s cracked up to be? Or are there secrets to be discovered from the bedroom window?
This book had me glued to the pages. What a twisty tale it is with more than one moment of gasping out loud.
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read and review.
