Gripping, shocking and hard to put down! The Bedroom Window is a suspenseful and captivating psychological thriller about a family who relocates for a job only to find that their new beginning may not be all that they hoped for.

Lottie, her husband Neil, and their son Albie have moved due to Neil finding a new job. They get to live in a cute little cottage and Albie will be going to a new school. Neil is excited about his new job and Lottie is looking forward to their new beginning. At first everything seemed fine but one night Lottie sees something through her bedroom window....

What follows are secrets, lies and deception. There is an underlying tension that flows throughout the book. As Lottie tries to get to the bottom of things, the suspense goes into high gear. I was right there with Lottie trying to figure things out, wondering who could be trusted. Plus, there are parts that take place in the past, and I was equally intrigued and invested in learning how this would tie into the book.

K.L. Slater has given readers unlikeable, flawed, and questionable characters who do questionable things in this book. There are plenty of twists and revelations in this book, not to mention the secrets and lies. Slater kept me on my toes, and I did not see a single thing in this book coming. I was guessing until the end.

This was a well written, shocking and twist filled book that does not disappoint.

K.L. Slater has once again delivered a riveting domestic thriller with unpredictable twists and turns. I got hooked right from page one. Slater has crafted a brilliant plot filled with suspense and intrigue. The characters’ unforeseeable nature and actions added spice to the story. The ending though a bit far fetched was satisfying. I liked how layered character of the protagonist. The multiple povs of the characters was interesting and added a touch of unreliable narrater tone to the book. Each character has something to hide making the story more mysterious. Slater has given a well written novel that explores the behind closed doors concept from a different perspective. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel and would recommend it to all those who like domestic thrillers especially the ones that have seaside setting with a mysterious owner whose house is forbidden to enter by anyone kinda story.

How long until everyone bursts at the seems with their secrets or better yet exposes someone else’s secrets. With a fresh start too good to be true, Lottie & Neil are starting fresh with their son Albie in a beautiful new (but old?) place.

For me, the best part was that I was not able to figure out the twists or secrets that came along at each turn. Damn. Come one, come all!!! They are plenty to secrets to be uncovered.

Of course the characters are hiding something and it makes it hard to like them. Doesn’t matter tho because this was a quick, fun read and I really enjoyed it. So glad I was chosen to read this early.

Great Read With a Twist

Told mainly from Lottie and Neil’s perspective, a couple who’ve recently been through some challenging times, with Neil’s new job opportunity has this struggle finally come to an end?….

The majority told in present time, at times flashbacks to twenty years earlier, many secrets with a great twist to complete.

Starts at a steady pace, just over half way gets more exciting and with a great twist. I had my suspicions, then perhaps they weren’t correct and the ending I didn’t see coming. A definite should read.

Her neighbor swears up and down that she has no kids. But the things Little sees through their bedroom window are contradictory. And, quite frankly, suspicious.

This book kept me interested, despite being slow in several places. I wanted to know what was going on, and how the past would serve to uncover the present. A solid thriller with so many surprising secrets.

If you're looking for a new psychological thriller to keep you on the edge of your seat, you might want to check out The Bedroom Window by K.L. Slater.

The story follows a woman called Lottie who sees a child in her neighbour's house, despite her neighbours insisting that they have no children. As she becomes more and more obsessed with uncovering the truth, she begins to unravel a web of secrets and lies from her past and present that threaten to destroy everything.

While the plot is well-paced, I found the story to be a bit slow at times and some of the characters were unlikeable. However, the twisty ending did keep me guessing until the very last page and I didn't see that ending!

If you're a fan of twisty psychological thrillers and don't mind some unlikeable characters, The Bedroom Window is worth checking out.

Wow, this is an edge of your seat, nail biting thriller of a story. There are tantalising glimpses of past events which at first glance seem to have nothing to do with the rest of the story but drip by drip the author feeds us clues and we learn more about each character. This ensures that the reader is always wanting more and leaves them unable to put the book down until the final shocking dénouement. This is a 5 star read worthy of such a great author
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book

I'm a huge fan of this author but sometimes her work can be a little wordy and overly descriptive to me. In that case, I typically prefer the audiobook. That was the case with this one. It felt very long and I found myself skimming and missed a lot of it.

When I see that K.L Slater is about to release a new book, I’m always excited. Her books are always highly anticipated, expecting an interesting and gripping read. No surprise that this book was no different!

From the start of the book I felt really connected to the story, and wanted to learn more about the past of Lottie. As the story developed I continued to read on, wanting to continue reading the next chapter as soon as I finished one.

Overall this book was a super easy read, that was really engaging and remained super interesting. I expected to hear more about the future of the characters, but at the same time I also loved the way that the story didn’t go in too much detail to keep you thinking about it.

I can’t wait for her next book and I will continue to recommend this author as a good quality and gripping read!

K.L. Slater does it again! With a group of less than likeable characters, Slater’s writing style lends to her strengths of expertly crafting a compelling and complex storyline.

Lottie, Neal and their small son Albie just moved into the caretaker’s cottage at the magnificent Seaspray House. Neil has been hired as the head landscaper, and this is their chance at a fresh start after the accident that left him unable to provide for his family. Lottie is steadfast woman with past anger issues, which leaves her a bit standoffish and very inquisitive. Albie loves the cottage and the grounds at Seaspray House, and has found himself endeared to the owners, Neeta and Ted.

Neeta and Ted are that couple that there is just something about, but you can’t quite put your finger on it. The one couple that has questioning whether it’s all in your head, or is there something more to your guttural feelings of curiosity. Lottie is determined to find out for herself what is actually happening, and if they have no children, then who is the small figure in the upstairs bedroom window?

Thank you to K.L. Slater, NetGalley and Bookoutre for the opportunity to provide an honest and unbiased feedback and review.

Another enjoyable read from Ms Slater. This book was set in Yorkshire and was very atmospheric. Great characters, but unfortunately for me I felt the storyline got a little far fetched towards the end. A few parts seemed rushed and no idea how it got from A to B.

Sit down! Let me pour you a glass of tea! This might take a while....
Look, you know K.L. Slater ain't playin' and she's here to make a name for herself.
Speaking of which you know how they say, "Don't play me for a fool."
Yes, well lets just say grab that binocular, sit right down, make yourself cozy because the show is about to begin.
We all know the bs walks and bs talks but here we have an entire family- The Williamses-who are talking and hiding something or someone.
Why?
Good question and we'll backtrack to find answers from approximately 20 years earlier.
Lottie-is one heck of a gal-with plenty resting on her shoulders. You can't faut with her can you?
She's been through the ringer, her mom left when she was only 13, and now she's facing a new dilemma.
What did you say--Poetic Justice?
Ok, Kay Price- hunny, we need to get ya some help.
Babysitting is one thing but kidnapping is a whole other ball game.
With this noted, what we must say is Neeta/Ted Williams are quite the odd couple in more ways than one.
Do they ever talk? Go out? Get along?
Welp, this whole situation with Yasmin/Graham Fuller-Claire's parents is also a game changer.
Claire meanwhile is missing?
Ted, might or might not know something but will he confess? Does he know where Claire is?
Kay Price is connected to Lottie but the terms of that contract might be up for debate.
Oh, and toss in an affair like a salad with croutons and we got some game.
Neil, I've read in other fellow blog reviewers was seen as Mr. Innocent with leg paralysis. What those folks failed to mention is how that injury came to be and why? Seems our boy isn't so innocent and blackmail is now on the table to offer.
Abandonment, isolation, and bizzare consequences lead to a host of intriguing scenarios ripe for the plucking.
The apple don't fall too far from the tree and this is clearly evident in this case.
Drinking and drugs are never a great cocktail to serve up.
Will this one end well? Could there be a hostage situation? What will happen next?
Ahhh, I love when a great plan comes together!
Kudos, KL Slater has done it again! Plenty of spicy action on this plate. Loved it.
Thank you KL Slater, Bookouture, and NetGalley for this ARC.

I thoroughly enjoyed this mind-blowing twisty psychological thriller from K L Slater who adds another hit to her fact growing publication list. .

The Bedroom Window is an exciting book with lots of suspense and twists that you wont know what's coming next and brilliant characters that you'll grow to love or hate and many things you just won't see coming.

Lottie and her husband Neil have just got their lives back together after Neil's nasty accident with terrible injuries, which he's now ready to put it all behind behind him having made a great recovery and move on with life. Its been a long road to recovery, but now he's found the perfect job as a Grounds Manager at the Seaspray House which comes with a new home, so they cant start to put their money worries behind them and make a completely new start for them and their son Albie.

Their employers Neeta and Ted Williams seem to be too good to be true at the outset but something's niggling Lottie and she cant put her finger on it. Her old worries come back to haunt her and we get some flashbacks to her earlier life. There's definitely something going on with the Williams' and more strange things begin to happen and why won't they let them in the house? All is not as it seems and things begin to unravel quickly.

A brilliant new thriller, great page turner and a great location for this book. A big thanks to Bookoutre and Netgalley for this very exciting ARC.

Secrets and lies seem to be the common theme in this book. There are characters in this book that you will love to hate, and you will be so eager to find out exactly who they are and what they are really about that you will simply not be able to stop reading until you finish it.

Neil and Lottie and their son, Albie, are ready to start afresh. They have overcome some great financial difficulties over the last few years, and their marriage has survived. This new job for Neil as caretaker at the Seaspray House sounds like a dream come true. Not only will Neil be earning a paycheck, but the owners provide a home for them on site. The owners, Ted and Neeta, are very mysterious, but are friendly enough. It is only after seeing things out of their bedroom window that Lottie starts to wonder just what exactly is going on in that monstrosity of a house. A house that Neil nor Lottie are ever invited to enter. Lottie has suspicions that there is something sinister going on, and she does not trust Neeta at all. She gushes about Neil and Albie to the point that Lottie feels uncomfortable. She is determined that this woman will not take her husband and son from her.

The story has a story going on with flashbacks from the past. It is very apparent that there a lot of secrets, but you cannot possibly imagine just what is going on. It was a slower paced book in the beginning as the tensions built up. The further you got into the book the more suspenseful it became and the secrets start coming to light. Once that happened the tempo increased dramatically as dominoes started falling and puzzle pieces started coming together. At that point, I could not get enough. I could not put it down. I had to know who the shadowy figure in the window was. It was messing with my head. There was a creepy vibe to the glass house on the coast with soft lullabies floating on breeze with no children in the house. Cue the creepy music. The twists at the end just kept coming and my mouth just fell open even further. If you can hold on and get through the first part of the book where it is building up to the meat of the story, you will not be disappointed. You will be shocked, but happy that you kept reading. K. L. Slater knows how to write a great psychological thriller with little teasers mixed in throughout the pages to keep your interest in the storyline.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Every book she writes the author knocks it out of the park, and this is no exception.
A brilliant twisty-turny read that will have you staying up late to finish it.
After some very hard years, Neil gets the chance of a return to work in a dream job and a cosy cottage with beautiful views thrown in too. This is just the break Lottie, he and their son Albie deserve. Their past problems left behind, or are they? You may move towns, jobs, and houses but can you ever leave your past behind you?

I liked this book, people were not who they seemed and some were surprising. A good read. I related to Lottie because I'm suspicious of my neighbors sometimes too!

I loved this book, despite the fact that it's a slow burn. It was filled with twists I did not expect!

This was a slow-burn psychological thriller which is told from multiple POVs and also two different timelines.

After Neil is almost fully recovered from an accident that could have left him paralysed. It isn’t long before he is looking for work. He is contacted almost straight away as a head gardener at Seaspray House.
He and his wife Lottie and son Albie move to a property owned by Neil’s new employers. It isn’t long before Lottie starts questioning things as something doesn’t feel right, her relationship is drifting too.
As I said it was a slow burn, it took until around halfway through the book to start to get exciting and it continued from there onwards to be a fantastic read.
I was absolutely shocked when things are revealed, but also the twist at the end. Wow, I did not see that coming at all.
I have enjoyed every single book I have read by K.L. Slater and The Bedroom Window, although slow starting, it turned out to be fantastic.

Kim Slater never fails to deliver and The Bedroom Window is another work of fiction that is grpping from the first to last page. After a horrendous year a couple, Neil and Lottie and their son Albie move into a cottage on the estate where Neil has accepted the head gardener's job on a beautiful estate. As they get to know their neighbours Lottie has a felling that all is not what it seems.
When Lottie gets a job, Albie spends more and more time up on the estate with Neil she begins to sense that her neighbours are treating Albie as a son. She confieds in her new friend Keris whose daughter goes to school with Albie but can she be trusted?
This book is full of surprises, a brilliantly written psychological thriller that will leave you wanting more.
