Loved reading this book and author. If you haven't read it yet I highly recommend her and her books. I suggest reading in order
Carrie is getting married, is a librarian and is planning an art show at the library. She and her fiancee' go to a local gallery where she notes that one of the priceless paintings is actually a forgery. Soon a woman in another gallery is found dead.
It is up to Carrie, Smokey Joe the cat, and the library ghost to find the killer amongst a long list of suspects
Carrie has her plate full with wedding planning and library work. While picking art work to show at the library, both she and Dylan seem to mix business and pleasure. Carrie can see herself being married in the art collector’s home while Dylan sees a problem with the art itself. Not long after the owner of an art gallery is murdered and it seems something bizarre is going on and all signs lead to the gallery.
Can Carrie figure out who killed the art gallery owner and why? With Evelyn and Smokey Joe along for the mystery, they’ll do their best to not go up in flames like an oil painting.
This is one of the coziest and fun series out there. I love the library setting with resident ghost Evelyn, a former librarian at the library, and Smokey Joe added in to the cast. I dream of the cottage that Carrie lives in and the closer I get to retirement, the more I dream of it! Everything bout this series makes me happy and keeps me coming back for more.
Allison Brook has done it again! Carrie is back with her fiance Dylan, family, coworkers, and Evelyn the library ghost for another adventure that keeps you guessing right until the end.
Carrie is on fire in this one not only solving multiple murders, but planning her wedding as well. Fans of the series will be thrilled with the forward movement of our favorite couple's life and visits from all of our favorite characters This series has become one I look forward to getting in galley form because I just cannot wait for the audiobook and I think you will agree once you visit Clover Ridge
I love cozies that have to include weddings! Sweet but also a lot of drama. I found myself annoyed with Carrie and Dylan and I didn't care for them too much but I did like how Carrie investigated.
I enjoyed this book. It’s fast paced and interesting. I thought it flowed without any slow spots or unnecessary dialogue. I liked the characters, they feel very real. The setting is perfect. I was very surprised by who the killer turned out as. #OverdueorDie #NetGalley
Thank you @netgalley for the ARC of the latest installment of "The Haunted Library Mysteries" series "Overdue or Die" by Allison Brook. The title for this one is mostly just library centered, doesn't really tie into the story as far as I easily link. For sure read the others in the series before this one. If you don't you may find yourself feeling a lack of information.
This book was more in Dylan's art left realm, with still being Carrie's point of view and primary investigation. I was finding myself a bit annoyed with Carrie and Dylan over their wedding/future planning though. One big question I feel never got answered was, if they wanted a scenic country side manor house for their wedding venue why couldn't they use the one Dylan already owns and they could be living in but are living in a cottage on property instead? Seems kinda selfish and spoiled/entitled to be wanting to use one of., what was, a stranger's house when they got the idea in their heads. Also, why are they house hunting? Dylan owns at least two houses as is? Just because you get married doesn't mean you have to move.
Still a good story. Mostly classic Haunted Library Mystery series, but a lot less of the haunted part this book.
