As someone who is addicted to adding the newest releases to my Goodreads TBR, I really appreciated this preview. Thank you for feeding my virtual book hoarding addiction, Netgalley!
I'm really looking forward to many of these upcoming titles. Buzz Books never fails to get me excited about authors I've read in the past as well as exposing me to new ones. Can't beat it.
Thank you for compiling these...they're so helpful for finding books for the upcoming season! With so many books out there, sometimes it's hard to navigate.
I drowned happily in the wild, beautiful abundance of BUZZ BOOKS 2023: FALL/WINTER selections by Publishers Lunch. New books from smart, creative, accomplished authors never fail to pique my interest and the coming season looks to be an incredible one, with books from favorite writers such as Dan Ariely, Adam Grant, Michael Cunningham, Alice McDermott, Kiley Reid, Claire Keegan, and Natasha Solomons promising wonderful reads as well as books from newcomers such as Emma Grey and Gabrielle Korn. What outrageous reading we have ahead of us! I received a copy of this book and these opinions are my own, unbiased thoughts.
Exactly what I needed! The only bad side effect is that my TBR pile has grown by leaps and bounds. I can’t wait to dig into the books I’ve discovered using this immensely useful resource.
As always, the Buzz Books publication was fabulous! My first love is reading books, my second is reading about books to read. Haha. So many terrific sounding ones coming out soon! Thank you to NetGalley for putting this out.
Thank you to publishers Publisher's Lunch for avance digital copies of BUZZ BOOKS 2023: FALL/WINTER and BUZZ BOOKS 2023: ROMANCE.
I have to admit, the purpose of these Buzz Books was not readily apparent to me. After going back and taking a second look, I realizeed they are not mean to be read front to back. Rather, they are meant to be perused until the reader finds an entry of interest, which they can then explorre further.
I often like to go into a book blind, with just a cover and a title and maybe a tag line. So this was a little different, getting a chapter or two or five to help me decide if I wanted to read. I made most of my fiction decisions based almost solely on style!
I really adored the feature to link directly to NetGalley to request an arc. I asked for way too many, but at least they're for fall and winter, so my schedule is open!
I just finished reading the second Buzz Book an hour ago an I've already been approved for a few galleys, let's see which ones:
📚THE HOUSE OF PLAIN TRUTH by Donna Hemans
📚TIME'S MOUTH🎧
by Eden Lepucki
📚THE WIFE FOX by Yangsze Choo
📚JONATHAN ABERNATHY YOU ARE KIND by Molly McGhee
📚JOHN LEWIS: IN SEARCH OF THE BELOVED COMMUNITY by Raymond Arsenault
I don't expect I will get approved for all the books I requested, but a few I'm really hoping for are:
📚 STARS IN YOUR EYES by Kacen Callender
📚 THE FUTURE by Naomi Alderman
📚 BLACKOUTS by Justin Torres
📚 BIG LIARS by Christian L. Hart and Drew A. Curtis
📚 BROOKLYN CRIME NOVEL Jonathan Lethem
I read both the Buzz Books, Romance version and Great Reads version, and both were useful and entertaining.
A great overview of upcoming releases. I don't generally read much outside of romance/fiction so it was helpful to get suggestions for other genres. I found a few titles to add to my TBR. I will definitely look at these overviews in the future.
I enjoyed this preview of upcoming titles, with a nice mix of genres. Some of the teasers peaked my interest enough to consider either requesting the title or purchasing the title once released.
I loved this advance look of books coming out for the Fall and Winter season. Each excerpt left me wanting to read more! I was introduced to new authors and found new stories from well enjoyed authors. I cannot wait for them to be published. Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to enjoy these stories!
I look forward to reading the upcoming books for the season and as usual this release did not disappoint. I love adding more books to my TBR.
Buzz Books Great Reads Fall/Winter 2023
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an Advance Readers Copy of this book.
Warning: Reading this book may be dangerous for the length of your TBR (To Be Read) list!
With over 60 summaries and long excerpts from books recently published or soon to be released, there are many choices vying for your reading attention.
More than half of the compilation is fiction, from both award-winning and debut authors, and there is a healthy dose of non-fiction and young adult books as well.
The books vary in topic and scope. There is philosophy and psychology as well as a range of fiction. Some are quite edgy, dealing with difficult issues such as infertility, suicide, addiction, and mental illness; other are lighter and include fantasy, science fiction, and family stories.
Different as the tales are, they all share the same high quality of narrative and excellent brief summaries that set the stage for the samples that follow.
This book could be the basis for a year’s worth of reading – or more.
A Good overview of books coming out in the second half of 2023, which allows you to read excerpts of some of the buzziest books of the season. I was particularly excited to read those by Yangsze Choo, Noise Dolan, Lauren Groff, Kiley Reid, Bryan Washington and also to discover some new voices in the debut's section. Helpful for netgalley users to decide what to request as well.
Great selection as always. Perfect read to decide on which new authors might be interesting and which books to watch out for to add to my to be read list.
This is a good introduction to upcoming books. I like learning about new authors and series. I good to be able to read some of these texts in the future.
Thanks to NetGalley & Publishers Lunch BUZZ BOOKS for the Copy of Fall/Winter 2023. I love the Buzz Books for excerpts and glimpses into what’s coming up next. Some fantastic finds for the Fall. A few of the stand outs for me below of authors I haven’t read yet and some debut authors too! Excited to dive into their full versions:
•Charlene Carr: Hold My Girl
•Elizabeth Crook: The Madstone (1868 Texas, historical fiction Mystery, Action, possibly romance??❣️)
•Donna Hemans: The House of Plain Truth
•Emma Grey: The Last Love Note
•Ashley Winstead: Midnight is the Darkest Hour
•Cedric the Entertainer: Flipping Boxcars
•Ashley Elston: First Lie Wins
•Nishita Parekh: The Night of the Storm
•Anise Vance: Hush Habor
•Myisha Cherry: Failures of Forgiveness
What fun this was reading excerpts from upcoming books and starting a list of books I just have to read. The format was simple with the title, description of the book, a preview chapter, information on the author and release of the book. I hope Buzz Books comes out on a regularly basis. I was exposed to many authors I have not read.
An interesting selection of upcoming books. The format ends up a little wonky when reading it through ADE, but that's not a big problem.
I love getting a look into the upcoming books, and I can’t wait for these Fall new releases.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this copy
Love to peruse the Buzz Books. So many great books to choose from. I like that it's divided into categories/format. It makes it easy to find the genre that I like best. That said, I check out all genres = just in case something tickles my fancy.
