I read many books sent to me by Netgalley, electronically, such as this one, written by a talented and gifted author. Thanks to the publisher and the author. I liked this book. I really liked this book. Not only does it portray an abused woman, it does it in a realistic way. The images make this story come alive. Although this is fiction, it reads like nonfiction. This book would make an excellent movie. This is a novel that warns women to be more careful when choosing a mate. It explains that all is not always what it seems. Abuse is real. The warnings are there, but women must look for it. Again,I really liked this book, one of the best I have read about abuse. If I could give this book more than five stars, I would. Be prepared for a surprising conclusion. I would never have discerned what happened without the hints. As an aside, the main character is an author, and I liked that also.

"The Perfect Husband" is a book about a woman who marries a man as a rebound based on 8 months of knowing him. It's a very predictable domestic violence book with only a slight twist ending giving it an upper hand and leading me to give it 3 stars.

This was fast paced, and quite shocking, the whole gas lighting thing.
A lot happened in what was, I think a three week period. It was busy.
I struggled to believe a lot of it could happen, but it was an entertaining read.
Perfect beach read in fact.

A scary wake up call - be careful what you wish for and who you marry. I’d never read anything by this author before but I will definitely check out her older stuff!
