The Strong family are just that they have a abundance of strength that most don't. Although I don't particularly like them. I came to enjoy the book as Lizzie has written a compelling and spellbinding plot.
A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.
Max Dinkel is trying to prove his manhood and although Tom tries to guide him as best he can he still cannot let Max know he is his father. Horacia gives birth to a baby that shows a families African ancestry and when she sends it to the Work house and pretends little Isaiah died she thinks her secret is safe but someone knows and is threatening to tell Tom Blanch is now a widow and although she has been sickly she is feeling better and starts spending time at the Work house but when she is faced with one of her cousins from The island comes looking for her it may reveal all her secrets and ruined her and her families standing and everything Conrad tried to build for her in Jeopardy. This book is packed full of secrets in Horacia‘s True colors can be seen by Tom and completely changes any affection he had for her but OMG if the ending of this book isn’t a great one I do want to say however I felt like book 3 was rushed in some of the storyline felt forced, I hope I am explaining this right in book one and two it’s all plotted with gray pacing but the third felt almost as the situation‘s were made to get the ending the author wanted but having said that it was still a great book and I would be so interested to read more books about little lavender Max his sister Lucy it definitely little Isaac… and Rupert and his future kids but that is just me loving a great saga. I think Lizzie Lane did a great job with these books and I’m glad I got to be an early reader. This is just one of the kind of books I have come to expect from the author and cannot wait for her to write more. I received this book from NetGalley and BoldWoodBooks but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.
Secrets of the Past by Lizzie Lane
The Strong family has survived against all odds, but their greatest test is still to come. After a seemingly endless labour, Horatia Strong is delighted to announce that she’s given her husband, Tom, a much-needed son and heir to the entire Strong fortune. But the birth of the child is soon shrouded in secrets and Horatia will do anything to keep the truth from her husband – it could destroy the Strong family completely.
The final chapter in this nail biting family saga. As I read this book I can't help but feel it would make a brilliant tv series that could easily run for a good few years.
What a great end to a series. I was caught up in the family dramas immediately and couldn’t put this book down, my thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review..
This is a good series and i was excited to have all 3 books by Lizzie Lane were ready to ready, great story with twists.
Firstly thank you Netgalley for this Arc
Another brilliant family saga in this series can’t wait to read more by this brilliant author
The Strong family is back in this episode of their story. Having been through some very tough times so what could possibly go wrong now. More drama ensues once Horatia and Tom's son is born.
Secrets, lies and a love triangle keep this third book interesting and a bit of a page-turner. It is a story of love, jealousy, and trying to keep family intact at all costs.
A great third book, enjoyed and read rather quickly. Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book and the two prior to this one. A great trilogy.
Well, what a finale! Horatia Strong is a woman who knows what she wants, regardless of who or what she destroys along the way.
She is definitely her father’s daughter. It’s the rest of her family that is in question, so many secrets to uncover.
Captain Tom has a dead man’s wishes to fulfil, but at what cost?
Blanche suffers some heartbreak, will she recover. Edith makes a welcome return, she too suffers some loss.
I really enjoyed the end to the trilogy, especially Horatia’s character, ruthless to the end.
Now what to read!
