This book, set in Cornwall, follows a family which has years of connection with the RNLI.
Although it took a bit of time to get going it was very much worth it as it turned into a fantastic read and explored a range of important themes.
A lovely story. A gentle romance with an interesting background of a local lifeboat team and the impact it has on the daily lives of it's crew and especially their families. A compassionate story of grief and love.
This is a heartwarming and heartbreaking story in equal measure. It's exciting and lovely and I really enjoyed getting to know the characters.
It's so well written, I may have she'd a tear or two. It's relatable because we all feel loss at some stage and we all have had or do have difficult decisions to make in life that may affect others.
I really feel for Ava because she doesn't want to upset her family but she feels this is her calling.
I devoured this fabulous story over a sunny weekend.
It was just perfect. Family, friends and a brilliant community feel. And all set in the small Cornish village of Port Promise. I want to live there.
There was tragedy, but lots of feel-good moments too.
I loved the relationships and the family dynamic in the Morrow family. Very touching, hostile and hilarious in equal measure. I loved Ava and the up and down relationship with her friend Harry.
In fact, I just loved everything about this book and will be diving straight into
Second Chances for the Lifeboat Sisters.
Many thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a review copy, I give my honest opinion.

Still, she pushes her feelings to one side, afraid to risk their friendship.

This is the start of a fabulous new series for this brilliant author. I loved how this book drew the readers attention to the fabulous work of the RNLI who are all unsung heroes and whose work is now often widely publicised yet they all do such an amazing job
This was the story of love, grief and loss and of family and friendships and of a community pulling together at a difficult time and being United by the lifeboat community.
This was an emotional and at times heartbreaking read yet heartwarming at the same time. Can’t wait to read the next instalment in this series.
This is such a feel good book. It’s bittersweet in that a death of a beloved man has so profoundly affected so many people. This is a small village filled with kind people. I enjoyed reading this book and immersing myself in the beauty that the author’s words invoked. It’s wonderfully written. I look forward to reading the next book. A lovely but, at times, heartbreaking story by Tilly Tennant. All about family and love and the lifeboats. The first chapter before the book fully started had me tearing up.
A great read
Tilly Tennant at her best . A story of a family in a Cornish village where the lifeboat is the centre of their lives and had been for many generations . Sad at times . Strong characters and a lovely love element . A great read. Loved it.

I really got drawn into this story from the very first page and wanted life to work out ok for Ava.
She comes up with some opposition from her mother & sisters and she has to navigate those emotions whilst dealing with her grief.
Throw in her friend Harry who may or may not have her best interests at heart and you have a captivating story to read.
