I was happy to read a historical erotica story of two men who fall in love with women and her with them. I was glad to see the relationship grow between Issac, Walter and Suzette however I was a little disappointed in the lacklustre sex scene although there was an extensive back story for each character I was kind of bored with everyone but Suzette who has a dramatic ending.
There was very little romance to the whole thing and I just felt like it was just decided that they would get together without much seduction to it

considering that this was erotica I was looking for some super descriptive scene and instead, I got more talk about what happened and less description

A bit of a disappointment for me

While the setting was San Francisco mid 19c, the language felt very modern. There were also mid-paragraph narrative and character perspective changes that I found irritating. I could not find any empathy for Suzette as I found her to be a complaining snob. I didn’t even get to any of the threesome scenes. DNF at chapter 11.

I love Historical Romance but I've never read one quite like this before.
Ariella Talix is a new to me author, and I am intrigued to read more of her books. MMF romance is another new genre for me. I realise this was the second book in a series so I am eager to read the first in the series now after seeing the characters feature in Fiddle and Fire.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a steamy historical romance!

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the arc!

I loved this book. It has some light humor, LOTS of suspense, and some great steamy parts. The good guys are sexy and the bad guys are horrible. The perfect combination for a romance.

The theme of music and fire is interwoven throughout the book seamlessly, so I enjoyed that, and I learned a few things.

I will say that reading the first book in the series, The Golden Rush, was a plus because it gave me a good idea of the back story for these characters, but it's not vital to have read book #1. I felt like I knew the secondary characters better than if I'd picked this one up at random, however.

I hope the author is planning to write more in this series.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

This book definitely scratched a mood read itch I wasn't aware I had. To quote Crazy, Stupid Love this book is the perfect combination of "cute and sexy".

Now, why did I only give it 3 stars? Well, you see, what had happened was, I found myself skimming through a bunch of sections because...I just didn't care. Am I saying that those sections were boring? No, I personally just didn't find them necessary to the plot, nor did they add anything to the romance.

Also, the mid-paragraph narrative swaps had my head rolling. We're talking third to first from one sentence to the next, AND from one character to another! Excuse me?

This story also feels like a confused insta-love that just needed a small push off the diving board. It happens, just not very smoothly.

Overall, this is a cute, quick & easy read with no major faults. I suggest giving it a read for some steamy MMF loveliness.

A new to me author.

Historical romance is still new to me so I’m enjoying everything I read and this was no exception.

Another thing new to me is MFM so it was a learning curve.

Will I enjoy a book that is historical and mfm?

Yes, yes I will and so will you!
