This is another good book from Max Monroe. The two main characters are Brooke and Chase. Brooke is an author. Chase is her book editor. Brooke has written a book about Chase and her. S has had a crush on Chase ever since she met him. Brooke sends the book to Chase to see if he thinks it needs to published. He thinks it is a great book. He does everything it can think of to get it published. They start dating and eventually fall in love.
I read this Max Monroe book because I LOVED Best Frenemies. This one was good, but it wasn’t as great as I was hoping. The writing style was EXCELLENT and there were quite a few good parts of the book—but all together I felt like not much happened other than their road trip. (The outcome of which was fairly predictable.) This was, however, a good light-hearted (somewhat spicy) read! I will continue to recommend Max Monroe books.
I appreciated being given the opportunity to review this!
What a cute read! Chase and Brooke are so quirky and adorable! Very slow burn so don’t go into it expecting anything else!
you don't even need to get to chapter 2 to realize nothing happens. I'm not reading FIFTY THREE chapters of bland romcom material with an over the top quirky girl and a regular guy just doing his job.
+ goes straight to book jail for the line "my breasts swell in my tank top." thank god I'm quitting at 7% so I don't have to read other monstrosities like this. most "written by a man" line a woman has ever wrote

I’ve loved every Max Monroe book I’ve read this far but Accidental Attachment was not my cup of tea.
I love a steamy story that starts with a mishap...like when Brooke accidentally sent Chase the fan fic she wrote about him. I mean c'mon!! (background, she is a writer he is her editor;) Max Monroe never fails to make me cackle and this delightful steamy romcom did just that! Their flirty banter, slow build up, and close proximity led to incredible chemistry between the 2 of them and I just adored it!!!
Easy to put down, hard to pick back up.
I started and stopped this book many times, reading other books in between - which I never do. I just couldn't get into it because I disliked Brooke so much. Her self-deprecating humor is one thing but she takes it way too far and it grows tiresome. She's loud and awkward and crude, yet will never say a swear word. Quirky is way too light of a word for her. Annoying hits closer to the mark but there's still more to it than that.
I liked the premise of this book but I did not like the story. You have to do a good amount of suspending disbelief as well.
This is the slowest of slow burns out there. At about 60% Brooke even says "if this were a romance book, you should’ve already experienced the big, explosive moment." No explosive moments until an 'almost' at around 74% but the nothing again until around 85%.
This was frustrating, to say the least. I skimmed almost the entire book because it was dragging on so much.
I've read several Max Monroe books and have always liked them. The bar was set high. Unfortunately, this one was a huge miss for me.
I'm definitely disappointed but I won't stop reading the collab force that is Max Monroe.
(I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley)
Accidental Attachment is the fourth novel in the Billionaire Bad Boys series by Max Monroe. This book follows lead characters Lexi Summers and Cameron McKay, as they come to an understanding of their feelings for each other.
I loved this book. Max Monroe’s writing style is smart, fun, and extremely engaging from the start. Each chapter is full of surprises, passionate flirting, and a few twists to keep the story rolling along. Monroe skillfully builds a strong sexual chemistry between Lexi and Cameron that is both engaging and believable. The characters and plot are well-developed and full of surprises, making the story an extremely satisfying read.
The story focuses on Lexi, a savvy business woman with a lot of ambition. She has inherited a start-up company that she is determined to make a success. Enter Cameron McKay, a confident, self-assured billionaire who steps in and offers her assistance and his expertise. Although Cameron and Lexi come from two different worlds, they quickly form a connection that could lead to something more than just a business relationship.
What I found really charming about this book was how Max Monroe expertly crafted the characters. Both Lexi and Cameron are filled with complexity, making them both very relatable and multi-dimensional. The banter between them is hilarious and readers will definitely find themselves laughing out loud. The humor keeps the story light and the drama never overwhelming.
Overall, Accidental Attachment is a very enjoyable read. It’s a captivating and steamy love story with plenty of twists and turns. Max Monroe’s expert storytelling brings the characters to life and makes for a very entertaining read. If you’re looking for a light-hearted, sexy, and well-told romantic tale, this book is a great choice. I highly recommend it!
Emotionally thrilling, sexy sweet, gripping and heartwarming romance that has it all, love, laughter, family and undeniable passion... great reading that kept me entertained for hours. Highly entertaining and action-packed adventure.
"Accidental Attachment" by Max Monroe is a hilarious and steamy romantic comedy that explores the consequences of sending the wrong manuscript to your super-dreamy editor. Filled with witty banter, sizzling chemistry, and moments that will make you laugh out loud, this book is a delightful escape into the world of accidental attraction and second chances.
The story follows Brooke Baker, a successful writer who finds herself in an awkward and embarrassing situation when she mistakenly sends her editor, Chase Dawson, the wrong manuscript—one that includes explicit fan fiction about him. The premise alone sets the stage for a rollercoaster of mishaps, misunderstandings, and undeniable sexual tension.
Brooke is a relatable and endearing protagonist who has faced her fair share of challenges, including a divorce, a career change, and a medical condition that occasionally leads to fainting spells. Her inner monologues and witty commentary add depth and humor to the narrative, making her a character readers can easily connect with.
Chase Dawson, on the other hand, is the epitome of a book boyfriend with his strong jaw, blue eyes, and superhero-worthy hair. The dynamic between Brooke and Chase is electric, and their chemistry leaps off the pages. As they navigate the awkwardness of their situation, the book expertly balances humor and romance, creating a story that is both steamy and laugh-out-loud funny.
The novel's premise of revising and editing a sizzling romance with the subject of your fantasies in close quarters is a recipe for chaos, and Max Monroe takes full advantage of the comedic potential. The constant white lies, misunderstandings, and undeniable attraction between Brooke and Chase make for a highly entertaining and engaging read.
The pacing is excellent, with the story flowing smoothly and keeping readers hooked from start to finish. The author's writing is witty and engaging, with clever dialogue and playful banter that adds to the overall charm of the book.
"Accidental Attachment" is a delightful reminder that sometimes life's mishaps can lead to unexpected and passionate connections. It's a story of embracing vulnerability, taking risks, and finding love in the most unconventional way. If you're a fan of romantic comedies with a healthy dose of steam, this book is a must-read that will leave you thoroughly entertained and eagerly anticipating Max Monroe's next adventure in the world of love and laughter.
I was in a terrible reading slump when I started this book. It took me almost two months to finish "Accidental Attachment". "Accidental Attachment", overall was quite funny story. It took me several attempts, but I got there in the end with the help of the audiobook version. I read the ebook/audiobook ARC in conjunction.
I adore the FMC and MC (Oh, and Benji!). I loved the interaction between Chase and Brooke. Chase was the close-to-perfect dreamy-book boyfriend. And Brooke is the successful, quirky woman I wish I could be one of these days. The story definitely made me cackle out loud when I was reading it. There were several amazing, iconic one-liners throughout the book.
However, I didn't particularly like the pacing of the story. I understand Brooke's characters and her quirks. For the most part, I did enjoy Brooke's overall portrayal and monologues throughout the book. Unfortunately, it also dragged out the story and made it longer than it should've been. It didn't pick up until the 45%–75% mark, when I felt like the story was finally getting somewhere. I love a good slow burn, but this was a bit slow for me personally.
The plot was fun and straight-forward (in a good way). I will be reading more from the author(s). Thank you, NetGalley, publisher, and author, for giving me the opportunity to review your book. 3.5/5 stars
I'd just read a few Max Monroe books and enjoyable plots before this one. So, imagine my delight when I realized that Accidental Attachment was available for request! Luckily, I did get the copy, and no regrets for the time spent on this one coz it was a joy ride!
If you're a fan of Sophie Kinsella's writing style, especially from the Shopaholic series, you'll probably enjoy this. Brooke- the FMC is a bubbly, clumsy, and creative head to be inside. There's the good intent, there's the harmless pastime to get things done, there's the tiny mistake, and then there's the entire life that comes tumbling down like staked up dominos.
Yes, I loved all the cool, cheesy tropes in the novel- Secret Crush, Slow Burn, and Forced Proximity being my highlights. They all do seem to be cliches, until Max and Monroe work their magic, and behold- an addictive new concoction.
The slow burn was a tad too slow as did the dragging book in general. I also found the MCs quite immature, so minus one star for that.
Many thanks to Max Monroe for the opportunity to review this ARC. All opinions expressed are only mine.
After the initial pages, I found myself not connecting with the story or characters, so I decided to pass on this book. Did not finish
I'm sorry Max and Monroe. I tried, I really did. I've had to put this book down at 20%. Sigh - I usually love this author duo and a Max Monroe book is always a go-to author for me. There's no doubt the writing within itself is excellent, but this story did not resonate with me at all. It's slow burn, which I usually love, but this is too slow burn/boring for even me.
Brooke is an author that needs a service dog because she faints a lot and has various other problems. The dog wears a superman coat - cute! She's written a new book that happens to be a romance, instead of the story she was supposed to write - which she's struggling with. She accidentally forwards the wrong one to the publisher. Chase is her editor - the man she's been fantasizing about for ages and has based the romance around. He thinks the new book is fabulous and the story forwards from there.
This is a traditional, straightforward romance and it could have easily been half the size. For example, Brooke gets ready to go out to a working dinner with Chase. She watches a youtube video while in the bathroom, showing her how to apply her makeup. It went for quite a few pages. Chase of course, was happy to wait in her living room while she was doing this. Oh dear, I'm not sure if that was supposed to be funny? It would probably transfer to the small screen without a problem, but not in my mind. Also what really spaced me out was the huge amount of internal narration that went on and on.
Maybe I'll pick it up again one day and try to finish. I know many people loved this story to bits, so you may too. My thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC in return for my opinion. I have borrowed Max Monroe's next book via Kindle Unlimited, so I'm looking forward to that. Hopefully it'll resonate more.
Brooke wrote a book about her fantasies involving her editor. She never expected it to see the light of day, but when she sent it to him, thinking it was another manuscript, she was caught up in a web of emotions. And then he really, really, really wanted to publish it because it was such a great book.
Chase is such a wonderful human being. And he's infatuated with Brooke. They are stuck together in an RV, driving across the US for a publicity tour and each tried to hide their interest in the other. The book is filled with sexual tension and it's a very slow burn.
The book also showcases Brooke's health issue, and her aide dog, her love of family, and her willingness to help other people. And Chase is almost perfect.
This is a great, sexy rom-com. I thought it was a bit too long, otherwise I would have rated it a 5.
Brooke accidentally sends her new (and super-dreamy) editor the wrong manuscript. Instead of the full-length paranormal novel she promised, she sends the fan fiction she’s written about her crush…on him—including every detail of the hot, steamy “physical activity” she’s fantasized about happening between them. And Chase may be the hottest man alive and a super-talented editor to boot, but he’s completely oblivious that he’s the star of the manuscript he just convinced his boss to green-light.
Two months of revising and editing her manuscript could be torcher, especially traveling in an RV together on her book tour. Brooke and Chase have serious chemistry. I love every book written by the authors Max Monroe. They write a book that will make you swoon and laugh until your stomach hurts. This was a well written and easy to read.
Thanks to NetGalley and Max Monroe LLC for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Loved this one. It kept my interest and did not at all feel as long as it looks. Fun funny and real 4.5 stars
Wonderfully charming, laugh out loud adventures! I continued reading long after I should because this story was so funny and enthralling.
I am so attached
As a reader, it seems fangirling over authors is easy for me. Even more fun is watching one get the guy!
Accidental Attachment is a swoony (come on, it fits even if it's medical) love letter to books, romance, and happily ever afters.
Brooke and Chase and Clive and River are the "perfect rooting for the home team can't wait until they realize" romance. All the feels, the lust, and the realities of life wrapped up in a beautiful pink and yellow cover like a gift. Readers everywhere will fall all over themselves with Benji- the best sidekick ever. They will fall for the awkward cute that is Brooke and sigh dreamily at Chase. They'll be burning up the sheets with Clive and River all while wishing it were Brooke and Chase.
Enjoy this RV loving adventure one stop and romantic gesture at a time. (less) [edit]

I listened to this as an audiobook and loved the two narrators. The storyline kept me interested and the characters were developed with their own flaws, insecurities, quirks, and humor. It took me a while to warm up to Brooke. She seems so insecure and flighty and quite immature, but I think the author slowly uncovered why she was like that which warmed me up to her after a while. I thoroughly enjoy the back and forth first person narration.
