Accidental Attachment bY Maz Monroe unfortunately didn't deliver for me.

From the first page I thought that inner dialogue was a bit over the top, the silliness and the quirkyness too exaggerated when talking about MFC.
I liked more MMC and his inner dialogue which was more toned down and funnier for me.
There is a lot of inner dialogue in this book, as well as MFC talking to her dog, and while I enjoy things like that this was simply too much. I had a feeling like she forced herself to be as quirky as possible.

Also nothing much happened until way into the book, and while I don't necessarily mind slow burn this was sooo slow.
I didn't feel the chemistry between them either, it fell flat in that segment, and the humor which plays a big role for me was not really funny, it was somehow forced.

The idea was really interesting and I was so looking forward to reading this.

I love the story and Chase and Brooke are great characters with Benji as a sidekick of sorts I wanted to be drawn in. But, the way the book was written, the format was difficult for me to keep interested. I felt there was too much extra going on that took away from the real story.

I will admit, it took me a bit to sync up with Brooke’s specific brand of humor, but once I did it was like when you have that one coworker who is a bit over the top but you always seek them out because their vibes are unmatched. Chase was a total sweetheart and their genuine friendship before anything else was so cute. Also, writing fanfiction about your coworker/boss seems like an absurdly risky thing to do ever, much less in this very specific scenario in which you are literally a published author. It is chaos. Brooke is on a level of unhinged I will never reach (or attempt to). Also, Benji is perfect in every way, and deserves the world.

What an absolute gem! This book was quite simply a feel good read. It had a clever plot line, characters that you couldn't help but love, some incredibly witty banter and laugh out loud inner dialogue.

Brooke Baker is a successful author who has hit a bit of a struggle with the next book she's supposed to be finishing for her successful series. When she accidentally sends the wrong file to her editor, all the crazy fun begins because this file contains her secret musings where she imagines a fantasy relationship between herself and Chase Dawson (her editor). Of course, the characters in Brooke's book obviously have different names and careers so Chase doesn't pick up on the similarities. In fact, Chase is so taken with the manuscript that he doesn't even care that Brooke didn't turn in the right book because this one is so good. As he campaigns with upper management to get it published, Brooke is horrified that her inner most fantasies are going to be put into print.

Over time, the two are thrown together to work on the book edits and their attraction obviously starts to build. Well, Brooke's is already there - - hence the book - - but Chase finds himself unable to resist Brooke after a while. Let's just say, things get interesting.

I was fortunate enough to receive early copies of both the e-book and audiobook which is always a win for me. I enjoy being able to go back and forth between the two types of media. It's possible the book may have been a bit longer than was truly needed, but I didn't care. I was so invested in the outcome that I flew through it.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW:: The narrators were chef's kiss. In ways, I think I may have enjoyed the audio even more than the e-book because it was so much fun to listen to Brooke being snarky and witty. I truly laughed out loud so many times. 5 stars

Thank you to NetGalley for both the early copies of the ebook and audiobook. I voluntarily chose to review them and the opinions contained within are my own.

Ahhhh! Max Monroe is back with this epic romcom that had me flipping page after page. I LOVED THIS ONE! The premise, the plot, the humor, the characters. Just blew me away! What a great addition to their shelf and mine. Go pick this one up. It's a top read of the year for me!

I was so excited to get this book, but 10% in I knew it wasn't for me. Chase and Brooke seem like they are well suited cause they are both so delusional. Brooke talks so much about wine that I was genuinely concerned for her. The shining part of this book was Benji, Brooke's service dog, that she dresses up like superheroes - I would read a whole book about Benji, but I didn't care anything about the stakes for the rest of the book.
The main plot of this book stems from a mix-up that Brooke takes no efforts to correct. I get anxiety, and I empathized with her struggle of having to work closely with someone you have a crush on, but at no point in this book did I want Brooke and Chase to end up together, so I DNF'd about 50% through so it it wildly pivots and gets better I wouldn't know.

I was really excited to start this new book by these authors and it was such an enjoyable story, Brooke and Chase were wonderful and I loved their interactions and how clumsy Brooke was in the start, her crush on Chase was obvious from the beginning so it was nice reading how they were forced to spend some time together and how Chase’s feelings for Brooke started changing while they were on the road.

Brooke was a paranormal writer so her days were usually spent at her apartment with her dog, she had a medical condition so she had Benji, a service dog who definitely stole the show most of the times, she wasn’t very social but I loved how she considered Benji her best friend and how she dressed him up as superheroes 🩵 Brooke had a crush on her editor Chase and she was always clumsy around him, they were just supposed to work on her new paranormal story but everything changed when she send him the wrong manuscript, a steamy story about her fantasies with him.

Chase was a new editor to Brooke’s publisher so he had to prove his boss he knew how to find a good story. Brooke’s manuscript was different of what he expected but he always reassured Brooke it was a great story and that she definitely should work with him in that story. Brooke was hesitant at first but Chase had a lot of faith in her and her story so she knew she couldn’t say no. Brooke then had to go on a mini tour for the new show of her books so Chase offered to be the driver so they could work on the edits of the new book.

Chase thought Brooke was very funny and despite her awkwardness at times he only saw her as an amazing writer and person. Their moments together were very entertaining and despite being a slow burn I loved how their relationship started evolving and how at the end they finally admitted their feelings. Chase was the best hero and he was definitely perfect for Brooke, they really complemented each other so it was nice reading how everything worked out for them.

Their interactions with their sisters were also nice to read, I loved their scenes together and how they all supported each other. Brooke’s sister had been through a lot so I can’t wait to read her story with Noah and read more about Brooke, Chase, Benji and the family they were creating.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Chase risks everything when he pushes to publish Brooke’s new book, instead of the contracted book she was supposed to send him. Brooke never meant to send him the book she did (it was a book based on them, after all), but once she did, it started a snowball effect.
Brooke is kind of neurotic and a lot sassy, but she is also the funniest and kind. She also has a crush on Chase, which makes the tour extremely different. Chase is an editor who is on a strict deadline so he offers to drive her on the tour.
The banter and connection was fantastic and the relationship seems realistic to me. While there is a lot of laughs in this book, there are also some relatable situations that make the book more realistic. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

Brooke Baker has experienced a divorce, career change and move in the last few years, yet the medical condition that finds her fainting has been difficult, However, with her service dog, Benji by her side, she feels that life is quite okay. Yet, she wasn’t prepared for Chase Dawson. With his strong jaw, blue eyes, cut muscles, and a perfect swoop of superhero-worthy black hair, Brooke is captivated. So, she fills an entire manuscript about her feelings for Chase and how she visualises him as her boyfriend. Yet Brooke never planned for Chase or anyone else to read her thoughts until she sends Chase, her publisher, the manuscript by mistake. As Chase is determined to publish the book, Brooke must endure rewrites that put her together with Chase, too many times that she worries her feelings will be revealed.
A slow burn romance that at times had me wishing that it would happen sooner. They spend their time mostly as friends, until close to the end where they realise their feelings. At times, their inner thoughts took over and I also would have liked a little less of this. However, this is a sweet read with two very likeable characters with Benji at times stealing the show.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I totally enjoy Max Monroe - these two are such a hoot, and so are their books! Accidental Attachment is no exception. I laughed the entire way through. I loved it!

Accidental Attachment is a double entendre, being the title of the book our main character, author Brooke Baker, is writing on the side about swoony new editor Chase Dawson, who she has a big, secret crush on. She’s supposed to be writing a fantasy novel that follows after the trilogy that was wildly successful and has been picked up as a new Netflix series, and the new book is expected to reach the same success… but she’s written a pile of crud. She writes the steamy romance novel about her and the new editor as a side-project, and it’s never supposed to see the light of day.

Brooke “accidentally” attached it to the email she sends to Chase when she’s sending in the other book, Gardens of Time… (whoops, too much wine), and the mistake snowballed until suddenly, the two are on a road trip with him driving her on her Netflix tour while they edit the book - the accidental book that wasn’t supposed to be seen, and both fighting their attraction. Brooke’s superhero dog Benji (service dog to help with her fainting issue) totally steals the show, and I adored Chase and Brooke’s sisters as great side characters.

5-stars all around, for the writing, storyline and narrating! 100% recommend this, especially the audio, for everybody!

I received an advance review copy from NetGalley and Max Monroe LLC, and this is my honest feedback.

I fell so fast and so hard for both Chase and Brooke and of course we must not forget Benji. These two were so dynamic, spectacular, absolute perfection. I loved how this one made me laugh out loud one second then feel so deeply emotional the next.

I was really worried that I would feel that the story was too slow with the length of it but I was completely wrong. This book never felt like it dragged or that it was too long. In fact I immediately downloaded the extended epilogue because I needed more.

The world that was built around these two was so incredible. All of the secondary characters just added so much depth and dimension to the story that I just can't get enough. Now I just need Sammy and Noah's book!!

I adore Brooke and her adorable service dog, Benji. I loved Brooke’s inner dialogue and that had me dying of laughter so many times. She was awkward in an adorable way, but she is also witty and extremely talented at what she does. I also loved Chase, I love how swoony and charming and funny he is. I love how he is with Brooke and how he is really a great support system for her throughout the tour.

There is a mutual attraction and chemistry between these two, but the two of them really don’t want to cross those lines in their professional relationship. They started out as just an author/editor relationship, that formed into a friendship, and eventually lines are blurred and it does become something more.

The secondary characters in this book were fantastic, from Brooke’s family to Chase’s they were hilarious and added to the overall story.

The slow burn in this book though……it was a LONG build up and at times I found myself yelling for these two to just cross that line. So buckle and be prepared for a long build up.

If you’re looking for a slow burn, forced proximity, forbidden, friends to lovers, rom com this is one to check out.

I loved Brooke and Chase and how their chemistry unfolded. They both needed each other and the way they came together kept me up late reading every word. I laughed so much throughout this story and couldn’t wait to see how they came together. I am going to go back and read Max’s past stories and I can’t wait for the next one!

Oh my gosh, you guys have done it again. I actually laced myself reading this book so I could savor it, in spite of its length I did not want it to end. Chase and Brooke are perfect together, from their first meeting both were smitten but didn’t act on their attraction. Brooke is a successful author and Chase is her new editor. With a deadline approaching and a manuscript that is not up to her expectations Brooke accidentally (drunkenly) attaches the wrong file in her submission to Chase. Instead of the latest installment in her successful paranormal series she sends him her fan fiction romcom featuring thinly disguised Brooke and Chase in the starring roles.
A little slower burn than most Max Monroe books, this one keeps you thoroughly engaged in the story. And kudos for the inclusion of Benji, the coolest service dog ever! I had the luck of receiving an ARC of this book but had already preordered the day it became available!

This book was really good. It was so funny and the romance was great. It’s a slow burn, forced proximity, workplace romance and I couldn’t get enough of it. It’s light hearted with some great characters. I loved Benji and the author/editor combo. The sexual context was great and there was a perfect amount of spice. The characters were so lovable and I was rooting for them right from the start.

Accidental Attachment was a totally fun story with the best internal dialogue and awesome, laugh-out-loud moments. I had a blast reading it! I couldn't get enough of Brooke and Chase and the adorable Benji. It was incredibly entertaining with well-timed humor and witty scenes that had me smiling.

Brooke and Chase were fantastic! I instantly loved Brooke and learning all about her crush on Chase and how she sent him the wrong manuscript. Her thought process was hilarious and I liked her light, self-deprecating humor. Chase was sweet and caring and I loved how he was there for Brooke and championing her. The forced proximity situation was great as they traveled together. I love their awkward moments and how playful and flirty they could be and I adored it when their feelings were brought to the forefront. I laughed my way through this and I loved them getting to their HEA.

I loved the conversations Brooke had with her dog Benji, they were so sweet and cute. I also like how the book Brooke wrote played into the story. I liked when Chase’s feelings started to click for him and he was seeing similarities between them and the characters in the book. I enjoyed the overall build to them coming together but their slow-burn romance was a bit too slow for me. I loved the first half, it was lively and exciting and I enjoyed their banter and growing attraction. I thought it moved at a good pace and was filled with a lot of standout moments. I did like the second half, the fun scenes were still there but they felt a bit drawn out and repetitive. I longed for something to happen, some kind of drama or tension. I was thrilled when they finally broke through all the sexual tension and the heat exploded. I was happy to finally get to the drama and emotion.

This was a super entertaining, lighthearted, and easy read that had me laughing and grinning my way through. It’s a story filled with two charming and endearing characters, one loveable dog, and one motor home full of antics and good times!

One of the strengths of Accidental Attachment is the chemistry between Brooke and Chase. The steamy scenes between them are satisfying and will leave readers wanting more. The author does an excellent job of creating tension between the two characters and building up their attraction to each other.

The characters in the book are likeable, and readers will root for Brooke and Chase throughout the entire novel. Brooke is a relatable character, and readers will empathize with her struggles and root for her to find love and happiness. Chase is a swoon-worthy hero who is not only handsome but also kind and caring.

Overall, Accidental Attachment is an enjoyable read that will satisfy fans of contemporary romance. The steamy scenes, likable characters, and engaging plot make it a book worth reading.

Firstly, thank you to Netgalley and the authors for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a voluntary review.

This book was the slow burn of slow burns but it was so cute. I was instantly drawn by the premise of this book and it did not disapoint. I really loved Brooke's character and her sense of humour and I am a huge fan of the disability inclusion in this book; life has its obstacles and flaws and this is what is missing in so many books. Chase was a book boyfriends dream. I saw the conflict coming and started doubting if I was wrong but when it hit I was like "Oh damn". I devoured this book in a solid six hour session and have zero regrets. If you enjoy the forced proximity trope, then this one is for you.
Bravo ladies!

I loved this book, the.story of Brooke and Chase. He is her editor, the one she secretly wrote a book.about, and is now stuck on a road trip within a confined space. They grow closer but what will happen when he finds out about his role in her book?
Looking forward to the next book in this series.

I got to experience this story both with my eyes and my ears and I enjoyed it in both modes!
The book is a bout a successful author who has a crush on her new editor. And instead of working on her new book, she takes her feelings out in a fanfic. And then proceeds to submit that fanfic to her editor as her new book! Not on purpose of course. And... he loves it! (big surprise haha)
I truly loved the premise. Brooke is talented, quirky and vulnerable, with a big heart and a big adorable dog :D Chase is swoony, so caring, determined and also vulnerable. I loved that he fell in love with her mind - her books - first, and then with everything else.
The backstories were actually fresh to me - yes there are exes in their past, but not everyone is toxic and horrible.
I also really enjoyed the side characters, except maybe Mo, she seemed a bit too much. I felt so much for Sammy and I can't wait to read about her own HEA!
The steam was quite satisfying, and it played an emotional role, which is always a plus.
What keeps this book from being a five-star read for me are two things. Firstly, I thought it was a bit overwritten in the beginning, with way too much detail about everything the characters did. Took me a while to get into it, but I'm very glad I stuck with it, because the story is wroth it. And secondly, I wanted more groveling in the third act. More understanding, more apologizing, and more groveling.

In total, don't miss this story, it's funny, heartfelt and steamy, with a non-toxic, swoony MMC.
P.S. a big thank you to the author for the Grey's Anatomy references ;)
