If youโve ever imagined writing your perfect book boyfriend and that book boyfriend becoming reality.. this is for you ๐๐ผ
I freaking LOVED this book. It was PERFECTION. Adorable. Steamy. Fun. Great characters, laugh out loud humour, super sweet romance, chemistry to die for, the perfect amount of spice, A DOG THAT WEARS SUPERHERO COSTUMES, and forced proximity in a camper van on a BOOK TOUR. Say no more. Chefs kiss ๐๐ค๐ผ
The characters were EVERYTHING ๐ฅน Brooke may be one of my fave ever FMCs. Quirky, cute, bashful, awkward as hell when nervous (relatable) and sarcastic; she had a hilarious inner monologue that MADE this book, and was super fun. Chase was 10/10 โ supportive, confident in Brookeโs ability, passionate, sweet and charming. OBVIOUSLY Benji (Brookeโs medical support dog) was the cutest, most wholesome + loveable addition, and Brookeโs Vasovagal Syncope was a really interesting addition to the plot.
This was a whopping 581 pages or 13 hours of audio, but CJ Bloom and Joe Arden narrated this perfectly, and although I normally lose patience with slow burn romance, the narration and fun plot meant I loved every second of this and couldnโt wait for my commutes + dog walks to listen at every opportunity.
I finished this and immediately downloaded every book by Max Monroe I could find + I highly recommend picking up this book! ๐ซถ๐ผ

This book was ADDICTIVE! I absolutely binged it. I am in my author FMC era, and this fit the bill perfectly. Can you imagine sending your editor a fanfic you wrote about him?! AND HE LOVED IT! He believed in your new manuscript so much he put his job on the line for it?! The amount of swoon worthy moments... the service dog... it was all just perfect. I really enjoyed the narrators as well. I have been raving about Accidental Attachment since I finished it, and I can't wait to purchase a trophy copy for my shelf!
Accidental Attachment audio with CJ Bloom and Joe Arden was a blast to listen to. So Brooke Baker was living her dreams, but she was struggling with imposter syndrome. When she goes to send her next book to her editor, one that sheโs not proud of, but accidentally sends the book she wrote about her crush, who just happens to be her editor, her world spirals out of control. Chase Dawson has a lot to prove in his new job as editor. Heโs living his own dreams, having moved to New York to be close to his sister and landing his dream job working with one of the hottest up and coming authors. When he reads her new manuscript, which is not the book he was expecting, he loves it so much he is determined to get it published. He is willing to put his career on the line for it. Brooke is getting ready to go on a book tour for her most recent book success, turned Nexflix hit. Chase offers to drive the RV so they can work on edits together.
Have you listened to Accidental Attachment by the dynamic duo Max Monroe!? Well, if you haven't, this needs to be on the top of your summer reading list. And let me tell you, your sides will hurt from all the giggles and laughing.! This audiobook will become a classic RomCon๏ฟผ, made all the more worthy of that classification by the incredible performances of CJ Bloom and Joe Arden.
Firstly, let's talk about CJ Bloom. Hands down, my favorite female narrator! This woman is a comedic genius! Her timing, delivery, and wit are spot-on, and she had me giggling throughout the entire book. I don't know how she makes even the most mundane sentences sound hilarious, but she does it effortlessly. Her voice is like a warm hug, and I found myself completely enveloped in the story thanks to her incredible narration.
And then we have Joe Arden. Oh, Joe Arden, I've listened to hundreds of books he narrated, and Hhs dulcet tones are like music to my ears. His ability to inject emotion into every word he speaks is simply breathtaking. But it was his portrayal of his character in this audiobook that stood out for me. He brought such depth and heart to the role, and I found myself wholly invested in the character's journey thanks to his incredible performance.
But let's not forget about the actual story itself! Accidental Attachment is a rollercoaster of a ride, full of hilarious mishaps, unexpected twists, and heart-stopping romance. The characters are quirky and lovable, and the dialogue is snappy and witty. I found myself laughing out loud at the most inappropriate times (like when I was on the bus, for instance), and I couldn't wait to see what crazy situation the characters would find themselves in next.
In conclusion, if you're looking for an audiobook that will have you in stitches from start to finish and are a lover of the HEA, look no further than Accidental Attachment by Max Monroe. With the talented CJ Bloom and Joe Arden at the mic, this audiobook is a masterpiece that will leave you grinning from ear to ear. So sit back, relax, and prepare to be thoroughly entertained!
If you love awkward heroines, Matthew McConaughey types who read romance, 90s rom-coms, and people who think dogs are people, this is the book for you.
Brooke Baker has an enviable life: after escaping small-town life for New York City, she hit success with a fantasy novel trilogy that Netflix has adapted into a series. Now, she has an advance contract on a new spinoff book. Thereโs only one problem: Brookeโs heart isnโt in the spin-off. Itโs in a romance she wrote based on her massive crush on Southern gentleman turned book editor Chase.
And when Brooke gets drunk one night, instead of sending the spin-off sheโs supposed to send, she sends Chase the romance novel draft. Chase loves it and convinces the publishing house to publish it - but he has no idea heโs the main character.
The writing was cute and very 90s-esque, clearly written for the 90s kids like me who grew up on Punkโd and Serendipity. The main characters are mostly charming, and for the most part they donโt avoid their feelings, which I like. I also like that they didnโt overthink their attraction for each other.
All in all, I recommend this if you need a sweet comfort read.
I recommend the audiobook (on 1.5 speed) as the female narrator was exactly how I pictured Brooke; I thought the narrator did a great job.
At first, I found Brookeโs relationship with her dog charming, but then by the 16th time Brooke referred to him as โmy goodest boy,โ I was over it. Maybe some people think itโs cute that sheโs convinced her dog has a soulmate? I donโt know. I found the whole thing ridiculous, and that story line about doggie love wasnโt even necessary to the plot.
I enjoyed this overall, although sometimes Brooke was simply too much. Dial it back from an 11 to a 9.75, maybe?
This was my first Max Monroe book and I canโt wait to read more! I this book had me laughing throughout and gave me all the warm-fuzzy feelings. In this slow-burn story, author Brooke Baker mistakenly sends a romance novel to her editor instead of the anticipated fantasy piece and the fun begins! Editor (and object of Brookeโs affection) Chase Dawson loves the romance novel and throws his supports behind Brooke to get it published. Benji, Brookeโs service dog, plays an important role throughout the book. Their adventures promoting the TV series based off Brookeโs first book is full of fun, laughter, and playful banter.
I listened to the audio version and the narration was great!
Brooke is a successful writer and well on her way to finishing her next book. However, she hates this next book. It is stale and just doesn't feel right. However, writing fanfiction about her new hot editor does feel right. When the submission date looms Brooke has one drink too many and accidentally submits her fanfiction, to her editor, who she wrote the fanfiction about.
Chase is surprised when Brooke submits Accidental Attachment because it is not what is in Brooke's contract to submit, but he loves it. It is a great book and Chase loves it so much that he puts his career on the line to get it published. However, with the date for the manuscript closes in and Brooke has to go on a tour for Netflix, he seizes the opportunity to be on the tour with Brooke, strictly to get this book finished on time.
You guessed it! Forced proximity! What will happen when Brooke and Chase are forced together on the tour and what will happen when Brooke finally reveals that Accidental Attachment is a fanfiction about Chase and Brooke?
I listened to this as an audiobook. This was my first audiobook in a long time and I loved it. I loved that there were two narrators. I loved the witty banter in the book and I loved that this was like waiting for a car accident that you knew was going to happen. How it happened surprised me! A great fun read with a decent amount of spice.
Big thanks to Netgalley and Max Munroe for this early release copy of the audiobook.
Accidental Attachment by Max Monroe is a delightful and heartwarming audiobook that captivated my attention from start to finish. The story revolves around charming main characters who are portrayed with such ease and authenticity that it's hard not to fall in love with them.
One of the highlights of the book is the author's ability to create relatable and endearing characters. Whether they were excited, angry, or happy, the main characters felt incredibly genuine and easy to connect with. This made their journey all the more enjoyable as they navigated the ups and downs of their accidental attachment.
The narration of the audiobook is another standout aspect. The narrator brings the story to life with a pleasant and engaging voice, making it a joy to listen to. Their delivery adds depth and emotion to the characters' interactions, making the experience all the more immersive.
The overall listening experience was so enjoyable that you found yourself wanting to listen forever. The combination of Max Monroe's well-crafted storytelling and the exceptional narration makes for a truly entertaining experience.
In conclusion, Accidental Attachment is a fanny and lovely audiobook that will leave you charmed and wanting more. With its relatable characters, engaging storyline, and excellent narration, it's a must-listen for fans of romance and lighthearted stories.
Accidental Attachment is a standalone, contemporary romance from Max Monroe and this one was so fun! I had heard good things about this one and was excited to try it out too. The heroine is an author who accidentally sends her new editor she has been crushing on a fanfic book she wrote about her fantasy of them instead of the book she was supposed to send in. And then he loves it and wants to work on the editing of the project with her! ๐๐
Brooke is on a deadline and not feeling happy about the book she has to send in to her publishers. Itโs written but she isnโt excited about it all but sends it in anyways to Chase, her new editor. She canโt believe the next day when Chase tells her he loves her new book and this new turn she took. That is when Brooke realizes she accidentally sent him the fanfic romance she wrote about him and her instead! But Chase says itโs the best things heโs read and he canโt wait to work on the editing of the book together.
Brooke is quirky and funny, she has a condition where she passes out often if her blood pressure rises and has her service dog Benji with her always, her last book series was picked up by Netflix and she still isnโt used to her new success and fame. Chase is new to NY and new to the publisher company, he puts his career on the line with stepping up for Brookeโs new book but believes in it (and Brooke) with everything he has. They end up on a RV roadtrip together when sheโs due for a Netflix press tour for her newly adapted book series (she canโt fly) and he volunteers to drive so they can work on the editing of her new book on the way and omg, the forced proximity was SO DELICIOUS!
I was given an audio ARC of this via NetGalley and it was so much fun! The narrators are CJ Bloom and Joe Arden and they made me fall in love with these characters so easily! While romcom isnโt always my fav, this one worked so well and I think the audio helped that. The third act breakup wasnโt my fav but we do get a cute grovel from her! I do think this one was a little longer than needed, but I was glad I got to it!
I requested an e-ARC of the audiobook for this book because I felt like I was seeing everyone on BookTube talk about it. I only realized after I started it that they were all just sent ARCs of the book and none of them had actually read/enjoyed it so I guess that's my fault for not realizing.
This was very very long, and sometimes that's fine but in this case it didn't work for me. This book kind of felt like the same scene was playing out over and over again in slightly different variations. I didn't feel like we were getting anywhere without circling right back to the beginning of "oh no, I sent my editor the wrong manuscript". Because Chase had read the manuscript so many times and still had no idea it was about him I didn't really feel like I was waiting for him to suddenly realize or anything. It felt like they could've just carried on the way they were forever so there wasn't really a sense of angst when it came to that aspect of the story which was disappointing.
I also think the third act conflict was so glaringly obvious from a certain point in the book that I just felt a sense of dread the whole second half of it knowing exactly what was going to happen and just waiting for it to play out. In the grand scheme of things it was also kind of dumb because it was something that could've (and would've by any person with 2 brain cells) been so easily avoided.
This may be specific to me, but I am SO over main characters whose best friend is an animal to the point that the pet takes the place of best friend in the story. I get that Benji is a service dog so he's with her 24/7 which is totally fine but there were so many parts of this book where Brooke was having long drawn out conversations with Benji. There is actually an entire side storyline of her trying to find him a doggy girlfriend online and I was honestly getting irritated every time it came up (and for the record, I'm a dog person). I also really didn't connect with the brand of humour in this book. I kept thinking to myself "oh that was supposed to be funny" but it all just felt so forced and awkward that I was probably cringing more than smiling while reading this.
I was holding out hope that this would get better but honestly at no point was I really enjoying this book. I actually sighed when I thought the audiobook was done and the narrator said "epilogue" because I was so tired of slogging through this. This was my first book by this author so maybe they just aren't for me but tbh I can't really think of anything nice to say about this book other than the plot had potential.
The audiobook narrators were good as far as narration goes but I'm not sure the female narrator's voice really fit with the vibe I was getting from Brooke. She sounded more put together and sophisticated than Brooke is portrayed in the story.
A very cute new (potential??) romcom series from max Monroe.
The characters are so loveable and real (well, except maybe Clive? ๐) And it just feels like reading a book about your friends and their love story.
The narrators are both great! Their pacing was a bit different, but overall it was easy enough to adjust as they shifted back and forth. C.j. Bloom is definitely on my list of top narrators.
LOVE LOVE LOVE I couldn't get enough of the characters and the story line. it kept me wanting more and I never wanted it to end.

As soon as I read the blurb, I got very excited and couldn't wait to read it.
Thank you NetGalley & Max Monroe LLC for the ALC.
" A successful writer accidentally sends her new (and super-dreamy) editor the wrong manuscript. Instead of the full-length paranormal novel she promised Longstrand Publishing, she sends the fan fiction sheโs written about her crushโฆon himโincluding every detail of the hot, steamy โphysical activityโ sheโs fantasized about happening between them"
What a fun ride.
I enjoyed every bit of time I spent listening to the audiobook, it was quite long btw.
This was my first Max,Monroe and it definitely won't be my last.
An Ultimate meet cute rom com, full of quirks and non stop laughs. The love story between two adults both trying to succeed in their jobs really warmed by heart.
This could have easily been 5stars, but it was too long though not boring at all, i just felt it could have been shorter, and the inner/mental dialogue was too many.
The narratorโs absolutely blew it out of the park. Love them.
I highly recommend this book
This was my first Max+Monroe and it won't be my last. I enjoyed the rom-com humor and sweet, funny characters greatly. I *did not* understand the title until the very end of the book... "Ooooh, she ACCIDENTALLY attached the wrong file!" (That's on me, for sure.) Once I got it, it's very funny. Miscommunication trope for the win!
I loved the dynamic of a rom-com author FMC and her editor as the MMC. The service dog Benji was an actual superhero and truly a complete character of the story.
I am a huge Joe Arden fan and I really liked CJ Bloom, especially in this role.
4/5 hearts
3/5 flames for solo flights as well as open door
Max Monroe did not disappoint! They hit another winner with this book.
Oh my gosh Brooke is so hilarious. I don't know about anyone else but I am totally the girl who gets tongue tied around a hot guy and if I have a crush ummm no words come out. Avoidance is key and in Brookes case not an option since she accidentally attached the wrong file to her editor.
Their trip across the country was hilarious and sweet. Benji was such a great support not only to Brooke but a great comic relief.
I love their inner dialogue and how Chase and Brooke just get each other. The emotional journey you take with Chase and Brooke will have you laughing and crying. Chase is definitely book boyfriend worthy. I think he is my new favorite ๐
Mo and Sam are great siblings and support them throughout the story.
I love her family and I hope to see a book about Sammy getting her HEA.
I enjoyed the narration of the story. It helped to bring out the chaos and emotions of the characters.
Audiobook Review:
This book was so good. It was a slow burn to Brooke and Chaseโs love story in a matter of a 3 week time frame. When youโre kind of stuck with someone 24/7 who you find attractive itโs kind of hard not to fall for them! The book did great at describing the spicy scenes Brooke wrote in her book to actually match up with the things Chase was doing to her๐.
If you like: romance, spice, slow burn, a good storyline, and a great laugh please go read this book!
P.S. the narrators of the Audio book CJ Bloom and Joe Arden were phenomenal! Easy to listen to AND understand even at 2x-3x speeds.
Accidental Attachment is about an author that sends the wrong manuscript to her super hot editor. She blames the wine. But her editor loves the book sheโd written to get her fantasies about him out of her brain, so she plays along. His boss okays the new book, but in the mean time, she needs to go on a cross country tour for her last books being turned into a Netflix series, and she has a fear of flying, so Brooke and Chase take off in an RV to work on the new book while doing the publicity tour. Many shenanigans happen along the way.
I appreciate the authors writing Brooke as having a rare medical condition, as that I have a few different ones myself. But they show how Brooke has a service dog hero and has many other ways of coping with her blood pressure getting too low or too high. People with rare, debilitating conditions are just as capable of finding love as anyone else.
I recommend this book to anyone that loves a mild to hot spicy romantic comedy. Some of the jokes fell flat with me, but I have my own strange sense of humor. There was more than enough to make up for the few I didnโt care for. These ladies know how to write something you want to read or listen to! The narrators for the audiobook were top notch. Sometimes with dual narrators, when a woman does a manโs voice or a man does a womanโs, they are confusing. You get used to one voice for 10-15 minutes and then all of a sudden that personโs voice sounds completely different. Luckily these narrators made it more stable. I recommend them both in general.
I was excited to be approved for this audiobook on NetGalley. Iโve only read one other book by these authors and it was about average to me. I still find myself interested in some of their other books so I thought I would give this a try. The premise of it is adorable and had so much potential. Brooke Baker is a recent divorcee and author whose books got picked up by Netflix for a series. Sheโs supposed to be turning in the next book in the series but instead accidentally attaches (roll credits) her side project steamy romance novel based on her editor, who she has a huge crush on. From here, the editor, Chase, puts his whole career on the line fighting for this book he was never supposed to see. In order to finish the edits on the quick timeline theyโve been put on, Chase is going with Brooke on her Netflix tour so they have time to get the job done. This book had SO much potential. The beginning was fantastic. The middle drags on and on and on. By the end, I was kind of just waiting for it to end. It was probably about 20 chapters too long. Iโm new to audiobooks (this is my third ever), so Iโm still getting used to listening to books. But this book was truly too long. Thereโs a lot of fluff in the middle. And it seemed like different versions of the same situations kept happening. The slow burn of it all was painfully so. It was cute at first, but then when youโre 55% in and nothing has happened, youโre left wondering if or when anything would ever happen. In addition to the length, I also had a hard time listening to the narrators, specifically Brookeโs narrator. Her voice was almost too sultry for the character she was portraying. And her impression of Chase in that weird accent was too much for me. I enjoyed Chaseโs narrator much better. Although I didnโt love his impressions of Brooke or his sister either. This is my first fiction audiobook, so maybe thatโs something Iโll have to get used to. Also, for her book to be the sexiest thing heโd ever read, I truly thought this book was going to be steamier. Their slow burn ended in a fizzle instead of fireworks. Itโs not closed door at all, but itโs very tame for what I was expecting. Overall, while this book was FAR too long, I did enjoy myself for 80% of it. By the end, I just felt a little unsatisfied. There are a lot of funny and sweet parts in it and also a lot of cringy parts. One of the more redeeming parts of this book is the surprise Chase planned for Brooke. SWOON. So while I didnโt love this book, I did like it. And I would still check out other books by these authors.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review!
I was so excited to listen to this audiobook. Iโve heard amazing things from some of my fav booktubers, and was pumped when I was gifted an arc audiobook so I could alternate between my KU download and listening. The problem is- I really hated the MCโs voice. It sounds way more mature than Iโm picturing the character to be, and something about her infliction makes the characterโs already annoying ticks WAY worse. I hated listening to Brookeโs parts, but found her slightly less annoying if I read the text and could add my own voice. I ended up skipping through some of her parts since they were pointless to the plot and no longer within the realm of quirky or charming. I love the concept and the tropes but Chase liking Brooke seemed so unrealistic. Itโs a bummer but if you donโt love your MC out the gate, itโs hard to sink in. 2.5 โญ๏ธ
Thank you NetGalley & the publisher for the audiobook in exchange for my unbiased review!
Thank you NetGalley for providing me with this ARC. As soon as I read the blurb, I got very excited and couldn't wait to read it. I really wanted to love this book and though I do not hate it, it was a bit hard for me to get into it. I thought the pace what a bit slow for my taste and even a little bit boring and I hate to say this because I love this author's work. The story is about Brooke Baker, who in a short period of time has had a divorce, a career change and a move to New York. Brooke has a huge crush on her editor Chase. By accident, Brooke sends Chase a manuscript that talks about Her and Chase's relationship that lives inside of Brooke's head.
This is a slow burn done wrong in my opinion. There were several instances where I just wanted to DNF the book but I powered through it.
The narrators did an amazing job but the book is not one of the best ones from this author. I do recommend 100% to check her other books. .
