Whoohoo, another Creedence Horse Rescue Series story! This one is about Holt (aka the Grinch) who hates Christmas, after being dumped on said Christmas. But he has promised his cousin to help out on the Creedence Horse Rescue. And - as you all know - it grows on you! Because we meet all the cool animals and their sheenanigans. And of course everyone knows (if you have ever read a Jennie Marts) that it will turn out wonderful. Still, you can enjoy the (Christmas) ride in the sleigh in this story. Loved it! Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Lainey and Holt. They have each other for all their lives. They were dating in high school u til one night Lainey disappeared. Ten years later they meet again. They start dating. They discussed what happened when she disappeared. They were misinformation, abuse, and escape. They realized they both loved each other.

I absolutely adored this title. It was a fantastic holiday read. Jennie does the best job of pulling you into the story and making you feel like you are part of it.

Cowboys? Christmas? Count me in! This was so much fun. A great distraction during the craziness that is working retail during the holidays

Lovely smalltown Christmas romance that reminded me of Maisey Yates and Brenda Novak! The vibe was reminiscent of some of my favourite cowboy romance movies like Forever My Girl and the Longest Ride.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Sometimes I just crave a light, non-angsty, Christmas themed romance. And this one was perfect because it even came with a cowboy. There's just something about their boots and hats, ya know? Lainey and Holt had a cute grumpy/sunshine, second chance romance. When there's a cowboy, I hate when the books don't even mention animals or horses but Marts delivers and the menagerie of animals was entertaining. And this makes me want to go to a ranch and brush a horse ugh.

This was my first book by this author and I believe this one was part of a series, but I read it on its own and you didn't really need to read any of the other books in order to understand or appreciate this one.

"A Cowboy Country Christmas" follows Holt Callahan, who despises Christmas due to past heartbreaks, and Lainey McBride, who returns to Creedence to organize her grandfather's Christmas festival. When Holt finds a beautiful black horse on his ranch, he discovers that it belongs to Lainey, his past love from twelve years ago. Despite their unresolved feelings, they reconnect and navigate their second chance at love amidst the holiday season. With plenty of Christmas spirit, quirky town residents, and a lovable stray dog, the novel delivers a heartwarming second chance romance. The story culminates in a wonderful happily ever after, complete with Christmas cheer and a heartwarming Christmas miracle.

Ahhhhh this was just such a great read. I just didn't want this book to end and I was sad to turn the last page. I'm so excited to see what's next from this author.

Holy Holly!! I had wear a bib from all the drooling I did over Holt, mercy me.
The hunk got dumped at Christmas so he hated the holidays, which I can relate and I liked his grinchiness.
Holt reconnects with his lost love Lainey and they ignore the huge issue between them: what separated them years before.
I loved the menagerie of animals, especially the new additions of Lou the dog and Esme the fainting goat. I did feel like Otis got the short shift, there should have been some scenes between the goats.
The ending is perfect and I almost fainted every time Holt answered Lainey’s calls with “hey beautiful.”
Be still my grinchy sucker for romance heart!

Enjoyed the story -even though at times I expected someone to threaten their love. Neither of the main characters are willing to bring up what really broke them up years ago at the Christmas Ball.

Holt hates Christmas because he feels Lainey stood him up on the fateful night of the Christmas ball at the McBride ranch.18 years ago. Lainey is hiding a hurt in her heart from that fateful night =when her mother and her had to run away from her stepfather. That night Lainey placed a letter inside a wooden box between two branch of the tree both of them used to climb in the summer explaining she would be waiting for him at their agreed upon meeting place to get married. Holt never got the message until 18 years later.

As the Christmas holiday comes closer they realize their hearts can heal and that love cures all wounds.

Jennie Marts writes the sweetest, feel good cowboy romances. This is the fifth one I’ve read by her and I’ve loved them all. I love the little town of Creedance and I’m happy every time Marts brings me back there with a new book. This is the sixth book in the series, but can be read as a stand alone. Though I do recommend reading the other books in the series.

I really enjoyed the relationship between Holt and Lainey. There is just something special about rekindling young love as an adult. I’m a sucker for second chances. I loved the adventures they went on and the relationships they had with all the animals and people in town. It was a fun, feel good holiday romance.

"Lainey laughed with delight, and he knew he would do just about anything, even wear a stupid jingling Santa hat, to hear her laugh like that again."

I am a sucker for a cowboy romance. Especially those written by Jennie Marts. She somehow always manages to capture the diligent charm of a cowboy, while also nailing their persistence, stubbornness and ethic all at the same time.

A Cowboy Country Christmas is the 6th book in the Creedence Horse Rescue series, and while some characters overlap and pop into each other's books, these can all be read as standalones.

Lainey and Holt were childhood friends, and grew up on neighboring ranches. When Lainey comes back to her Creedence for Christmas, she and Holt reconnect and what started out as just friendship turns into sparks. I loved the progression of their romance, and while it can sometimes be difficult to start off a romance with a pre-established relationship we haven't really seen, I thought this was pulled off extremely well! Lainey and Holt are opposites when it comes to Christmas, but it was so cute seeing them interact and fall in love with each other and the holiday all over again.

Sweet second chance romance with Christmas as a backdrop. This really brought in the Christmas cheer. Definitely some Christian undertones but not over the top and such a sweet small town with a nice cast of characters that kept me engaged. Holt and Lainey were separate by miscommunication when they were young and in love and 10 years later, met again and sparks flew. I like that their reunion and eventual making up although I did think that the reveal for the reason for their initial break up was too prolonged and therefore, it dragged a little on that end. That said, I smiled a lot, loved the end and loved another look into the Creedence Horse Rescue.

Jennie Marts writes another swooney romance filled with humour and heart. This is a perfect read to get in the holiday spirit.
Holt and Lainey couldn’t be more different when it comes to the Christmas season, but when life finds them both back in Credence, Colorado for different reasons, they will soon discover what they left behind all those years ago.

Written with Marts’ signature sass and wittiness, this book is about second chances and how love is always work fighting for-especially at Christmas.

When I pick up a book by Jennie Marts, I know that it is going to be a great read. This one does not disappoint. Once I started reading I just could not put it down.

I had a mix of emotions throughout the book as her characters came to life. My son was in the room with me while i was reading and I started laughing, he said "the book must be really good" and it was.

The part that I laughed at so hard and had tears streaming down my face was the Nativity scene, as you can picture all of this unfolding before your eyes.

Check out this story, I think you will enjoy it as much as I did.
