As a sea life fan, I was very excited to read this book. The illustrations are beautiful and mix of characters (who are more cartoonish) and other sea life in the background that is more realistic. It is colorful and a bit reminiscent of Tamatoa from Moana. A little plot twist around the value of collecting decorations...
What surprised me is there wasn't any back matter -- even a not. Decorator crabs are a real thing (though they are not hermit crabs. They stick anemones and other thinga right on their shell.
I'm Fabulous Crab is a captivating and heartwarming picture book that celebrates and teaches children individuality and self-expression. With its vibrant illustrations and a delightful story about Henry's journey to embrace his true colors, I'm sure that it will leave young readers and parents alike with a heart full of joy and a valuable lesson about being fabulous just the way you are.
This book had such great use of color. The pictures are so lively and fun. This crab wants to put himself out there and he proudly does. It’s a good lesson in being yourself.
I absolutely loved this book! Henry is a hermit crab who wants to stand out from the rest of the crabs - he wants to be fabulous! It was relatable, even as an adult - who doesn't secretly want to be even just a little bit fabulous? I loved how the crabs came around to it at the end and they all shared in some of Henry's bling!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!

Henry wants to be different, to stand out from the other hermit crabs. He's jealous of how colorful the other sea creatures are. He spots a shipwreck, and piles on sparkly treasures until they weigh him down so much he can't move. A shark comes by and sees him an art piece, taking his picture.
At first, the other hermit crabs saw his bright display of bling as dangerous, because it would actually attract predators to him, instead of camouflage him like his shell does. But, they learn that a little shine isn't bad, and Henry is able to move again as they each take a little bit of treasure from him for themselves.
Each of us is unique, and we should embrace our differences instead of trying to blend in. Everyone has their own talents and abilities that contribute to their successes and society as a whole. People are inspired by seeing others being truly authentic. It lets them know it's okay to be themselves, that there are other people out there just like them.
Thank you so much to Flyaway Books and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
Fabulous Crab is bored of being a Henry so he finds lots of shiny and pretty things to make him stand out becoming Fabulous. His friend scurry away in fear he will get himself eaten leaving him alone.
This was cute and I loved that he wanted to express himself with as many shiny and pretty things he could, but he overdid it and couldn’t do anything after a while. I loved that even though his friends judged him they eventually learnt and realised a little bit of sparkle and colour is never an issue.
I liked the illustrations in this book, seeing the different sea critters, seeing the artsy shark that was funny and most importantly seeing Henry go from drab crab to fabulous crab which was amazing and hilarious. This is a fun book to read and I recommend it, it’s easy and simple and lots of fun.
I love this book! I will definitely be buying it for my library. It shows that being different is good and sharing that difference with others. I can’t wait to see this book fly off the shelves.
Students will love the ocean setting of this book and the illustrations are colorful and eye-catching. As a teacher, I love that it is written in verse as it can be difficult to find high-interest books that are.

Thank you Netgalley and Flyaway Books for the eARC.
I'm Fabulous Crab is the perfect children's book to help kids learn to love themselves and be unabashedly different. I will be buying a physical copy for when I have kids, because the message within is very important. It is about courage, confidence, and acceptance. The artwork and color choice reminded me of one of my childhood favorites Rainbow Fish.
I received this book free for review from the publisher through Netgalley. This is my honest review.
Just a dreary old crab wishing he was a bit more shiny!
Get it?
Oh, Henry, the trouble you cause! But a lesson you give in learning to stand out from them all.
A cute read. I think fans of Moana would enjoy it.
Henry is a hermit crab who wants to fabulous. The other crabs think he is crazy, but Henry is determined to shine.
This was a cute book! I loved the illustrations!
