Great book, has its pluses and minuses. I read it a month ago and don't remember much, thus not me explaining the pluses and minuses I've mentioned.
It's a romance story between one of the bosses and his brother's assistant so they work together but he isn't technically her boss (while also sort of is?).
Anyway, I liked it enough to give it 4 stars apparently. I do think it felt longer than 150 pages since I've read it over several days.
This was an excellent grumpy/sunshine romance. Scarlett Evans is Miles Hart's executive assistant. Miles shares the CEO position at Triada with his brothers, Beck and Nick. When Miles can't make it to an executive meeting, he sends Scarlett in his place to take notes, notes that get her in trouble with Nick, the CEO in attendance at said meeting. It was entertaining and hilarious to read Nick and Scarlett's interactions, and I absolutely enjoyed every moment of reading it. Even though the Hart books are standalone, I already can't wait for the next book.
As always, Jennifer Bonds gives us characters that we love to love! Not Today Cupid is funny & cute & just lovely! The perfect summer read!
5 stars
Not Today, Cupid features the second Hart brother Nick and grad student/executive assistant Scarlett Evans. I loved Scarlett. She is on the shy side, but working towards speaking up and advocating for herself. Throughout the book she grows and changes in such a positive way. Nick is determined to basically be a robot due to a previous relationship gone wrong. They end up working together on a Valentine's Social, and also on doing what needs to be done to make Nick's company a better place to work.
Nick and Scarlett have good chemistry and compliment each other nicely. I appreciated all the crap his brothers gave him as things started unfolding. My only issue was that the "secret" Scarlet was keeping was lame, and Nick's reaction was beyond over the top. Otherwise a cute, fun read!
Another winning romance! I'm so loving this series with the Hart Brothers. Nick's story was so fun, I really enjoyed the entire thing. I'll easily read anything by this author. It was so easy to get through and had no lulls. I loved oreo!!!
Thank you netgalley and Entangled publishing for the earc in exchange for an honest review
This is the second book in the Hart Brothers series and Nick is the focus of this story. He and his brothers own a tech company and Nick is the CEO. He is also a classic workaholic and throws himself into making the new launch coming up a successful one.
Scarlett is his brother's assistant and since he can't seem to keep one of his own, she ends up sometimes working for him as well. The company is throwing a Valentine's Day party, and Nick is responsible for the arrangements and Scarlett is tasked with helping him. He first thinks her to be meek and shy, but once he starts working closely with her, planning the event, he sees her in a completely new light and the sparks begin to fly.
This was a funny, lighthearted read and Scarlett's snarkiness brought on a lot of fun moments. I really enjoyed the witty banter between the two, and their chemistry was great. A cute and fun addition to the series!
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Jennifer Bonds’ The Heart Series is seriously addictive!!!
Opening a book by Bonds is like opening a bag of your favorite chips; it is so good you will lose track of how much you have read. This fast-paced, fun, sexy read can easily be consumed in one sitting. However, those who possess self-control and manage to spread it out, will be rewarded with maximum enjoyment.
Not Today, Cupid is the second book in The Heart Series. It follows Nick Heart, uptight CEO of Triada Financing. After losing his biological parents in a car accident, Nick bounced around the foster care system, until Mama Heart adopted him and his two brothers. The trauma Nick endured in his formative years left him weary of giving and accepting love.
Content living out his life single and devoted to work, Nick’s world gets flipped upside down when he encounters Scarlet. The two are tasked with throwing a Valentine’s Day social in hopes of raising employee morale. Can the two keep their relationship strictly professional, or will Scarlet be the one to finally thaw Nick’s heart?
As with the first book, Not Today, Cupid is written as a standalone. While I have read and recommend reading both books, it is not necessary. Bonds does a phenomenal job refreshing/ catching readers up on book one (Miles and Miles of You).
I thoroughly enjoyed my time reading Not Today, Cupid. The spicy, office place romance kept my attention from start to finish. I will anxiously be waiting for the third and final book in The Heart Series that follows Becks.
Special thanks to Netgalley, Entangled Publishing (Amara), and Jennifer Bonds for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest thoughts.
I enjoyed this book so much more than the first book in the series "Miles and Miles of you"! The story line was better and I enjoyed the character growth! Great summer read!
I really enjoyed this book, it was a light romance that is perfect for a summer weekend. I understand that this is the second book in the series so I will be adding the first to my TBR now! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for and advanced copy of the book.
such a cute, fun, romcom! this book was full of hilarious banter and amazing chemistry! i loved both of the main characters and i really enjoyed getting to see both of them develop throughout the story! however, i do wish we got to see more of a connection with their actual relationship.
i really loved miles and miles of you and wished we could’ve read a little about miles and lucy but i still really enjoyed this book and cannot wait for the next one!
Unfortunately, the book was removed from my shelve before I could read and review it. Pity because I looked forward to it. But I guess I didn’t look at the archive date.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I really enjoyed this book. This is book #2 in the Hart brother’s series and if you like book 1 you will love book 2. It can work as a standalone but so much better together. I really enjoyed this and can’t wait for book 3.
I really enjoyed the first book in this series, unfortunately not this one so much.... I just couldn't get into this story and stay invested. I struggled a lot to keep my interest but I read it until the end. But naaah, I liked the first book in this series sooo much better. This was a big failure for me
This is a fun, steamy read.
The happy heroine and grumpy hero trope is a favourite of mine.
Scarlett and Nick are fantastic together. Witty dialogue, great character arcs and wonderful secondary characters make this an author I’ll be reading from now on!
I can’t wait to read the other books about Nick’s brothers.

Not Today, Cupid by Jennifer Bonds was a fun romantic comedy with the trope of grumpy versus sunshine. I had not read the previous book and this story stood alone.
This is Nick’s story. He is one of the brothers in the series. He cannot keep an assistant because of his controlling perfectionist nature. He ends up paired with his brother’s assistant to plan a office Valentine’s party.
thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy of not today, cupid this was wonderful and i ordered it for my store.
Another fun and enjoyable read by Jennifer Bonds. I enjoyed the first book, Miles and Miles of You, and liked the different take of this book. Refreshing characters and the introduction of an adorable puppy is an auto-4 star. While I was a little disappointed that there wasn't some tie over from the first book, I like how this can be its own standalone book.
Highly recommend!
this was funny and refreshing. I couldn't put it down. I never wanted it to end and when it did I was upset about it. I loved this world and the characters.
In "Not Today, Cupid" by Jennifer Bonds, readers are taken on a captivating journey alongside Nick Hart, one of the brothers introduced in the previous book, Miles and Miles of You. Nick is a tech-savvy control freak, struggling to keep an assistant due to his controlling nature. However, his world takes an unexpected turn when he is paired with his brother's assistant.
As they collaborate on a Valentine's project, a delightful spark ignites between them, leading to a captivating and heartwarming story. "Not Today, Cupid" is a perfect choice for fans of the grumpy x sunshine trope, offering a blend of witty banter and romantic moments that will make readers swoon.
With its cute and enjoyable storyline, this book deserves its four-star rating. Jennifer Bonds skillfully explores themes of control, love, and unexpected connections, providing readers with a refreshing and engaging read. If you're a fan of captivating romances that will warm your heart, "Not Today, Cupid" is a book that shouldn't be missed.
