This was a followup to Miles and Miles of You, which I really enjoyed. We have another romance that starts with a "meet-hate" (loved that term!) between a grumpy CEO and undervalued employee, but this time the setting remains the corporate space. I liked the interactions between the brothers, still love Mama Hart, the steamy love scenes were great, and you can't go wrong with adding a cute (and destructive!) puppy, I didn't love the miscommunication that led to their 3rd act breakup and the romance progressed faster than felt believable but I enjoyed reading it. Thank you for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Not Today Cupid is the second in the series of books about the Hart boys - and their rags to riches stories. I was a huge fan of book 1 which was Miles story and saw him jaunting off around the countryside on a whim with his PA, and getting a little naughty with her.

This book is well … a bit the same I have to say in terms of the trope and dynamics. Stuffy, cranky pants Nick Hart is the CEO and he meets Miles new PA Scarlett who brings him down a leg or two early on, and they end up working together on a Valentine’s Ball.

For clarification I liked Scarlett and I liked Nick, and the adorable presence of a tiny pup that threatens to steal the limelight. I think I’d have loved this book if I read it without reading the first because I can’t get away from the similarities between the books, to say this one really had any point of difference. (Beyond the ferret in book 1 interchanging a dog in book 2).

Rich grumpy overworked man meets sunshiney, smart blonde work junior. Work junior really wants to make it on her own merits so after four weeks of working in her new role she sleeps with the CEO … unfortunately while I always love the authors writing this one was good but not great given I felt I’d read it all before.

3.5 stars - rounded up on goodreads to 4 (begrudgingly)

After reading an ARC of Miles and Miles of You last year, I jumped on the opportunity to read an ARC of the next book in Jennifer Bonds’ Hart Brothers series. Not Today, Cupid was cute, fun, and flirty.

It was definitely predictable, and didn’t love that the FMC was basically an employee of the MMC, but a nice quick read to help me through a stressful week! 3/5

⭐️⭐️⭐️•5 / 🌶️🌶️

I was able to read this early thanks to @netgalley and @entangled_publishing . I enjoyed this book and it was a read in one sitting type of book for me. The book follows up from the first Hart brother , Miles and Miles of you. The books can be read standalone and won’t leave you confused as each story is mostly focused between the lead Hart brother and their respective female lead.

I gave the book 3.5 stars as I wished there’s was more to Scarlett’s change and growth. Nick had a really good growth and character development (thanks to Scarlett) but I wish Scarlett too had equal or close to Nicks development. Their chemistry with each other was excellent from going boss/employee to friends but when it came to romance I feel like it was kinda rushed? I wish got more of that development especially the time spent on growing their relationship left so many blank spaces which could’ve filled up with more details mentioned in the book early on showing us them going out on more dates and spending time together doing things they like.

Overall it’s a lovely read. If you’re into workplace romance and Enemies to lovers you’ll definitely like it!
It’s a really good story but I wish there was more chapters included when it came to their time spent together as a couple

Not Today, Cupid by Jennifer Bonds is the second book in The Harts series. Scarlett Evans works as the executive assistant to Miles Hart while in grad school for a Master’s degree in industrial organizational psychology. She also admires Nick Hart, the sexy CEO, from afar. While Nick is sexy, the man doesn’t smile and has gained the nickname of Hartless. He runs a tight ship and doesn’t seem to care that the employees are miserable. After his brothers bet him to implement a suggestion from the company’s suggestion box. Scarlett is recruited to help Nick plan a Valentine’s Day Social to celebrate the release of the company’s newest venture and to hopefully boost morale. As they work together, Nick’s icy exterior begins to melt and Scarlett feels emboldened to speak up in areas she tends to keep quiet. Soon a spark ignites a fire that they cannot ignore.
While I had not read the first book in the series, Not Today, Cupid was enjoyable. So enjoyable that I want to go back and read the first book before the third book is released. It was not quite the laugh-out-loud story as described; however, I definitely grinned and chuckled as Nick and Scarlett’s relationship went from cool indifference to passionate fervor. I could not put it down and read well into the night which I haven’t done in a long time. There are some spicy love scenes and tender moments between them. I enjoyed Scarlett’s witty comebacks especially when dealing with Nick. I loved that there was a heart and caring spirit hidden deep behind Nick’s grumpy exterior. I thoroughly enjoyed Not Today, Cupid. I will definitely read the rest of the series. If you enjoy grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity romance, I highly recommend Not Today, Cupid.

Not Today, Cupid is available in eBook and audiobook

Thank you Author Jennifer Bonds,Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for this ARC. I am voluntarily leaving a review. Nick is a grumpy billionaire who continuously butts heads with Scarlett, his brother's assistant. Wanting to change his a-hole rep at work,Nick decides to go through with a co-worker's suggestion of having a valentine's social. He tasks Scarlett with helping him plan the event. As they allow themselves to get to know each other, the attraction between them increases. Spiciness ensues...this was a sexy and fun read. Shout out to Oreo, who I consider to be one of the most important and adorable characters in the story.

Another fun and feisty romantic read by Jennifer Bonds. I enjoyed this continuing story of another one of the Hart boys. It was a fun read and full of lots of spicy moments. Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

The heroine is the executive assistant to the hero's brother, and she has dreams of having a career. The real interaction between the heroine and the hero begins with a business meeting in which she's taking notes that the hero reads later, which gives an unedited annotation about said meeting and the hero. Then the heroine and the hero are roped together to plan a company's Valentine's Day Social, which brings them together a lot more than before. With the heroine keeping some secrets and a cautious hero with a past, what will happen to their growing relationship when said issues comes to the forefront?

This is the second book in THE HARTS series by Jennifer Bonds. The set of characters really stand out in this book, especially the interrelationships of brothers and friends. I enjoyed the author's writing style and the story vibe, even with certain areas of the story needing some more details in my opinion. I liked both the heroine and the hero, but they did have moments in which I wanted them to be more open with their communications. I liked the support group that surrounded the couple, especially the familial love that shone through. With a great book cover and an entertaining story, this is a wonderful addition to THE HART series. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more Jennifer Bonds books in the future.

** Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions and though

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was fun, steamy and kept me reading. I wanted to find out what was going to happen. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

Nick is the control freak CEO of Triada who has earned the nickname Hartless. Scarlett is an assistant to Nick's brother at Triada, and although she comes off as meek and a bit of a pushover, there is much more to her than meets the eye. These two are the epitome of opposites, but when they're thrown into working side by side, they'll have to find some middle ground.

This was a cute story with lots of tropes to look forward to: slowburn, office fling, grumpy vs. sunshine, billionaire, enemies to lovers, sassy dog.

It was also great that it tied in with Miles' story from the first book (but I wish we could have had Lucy join the story). I am looking forward to the third book to get to know more about tech savvy, Beck.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book was not for me. Unfortunate I could not care for the main characters and only finished the book because it was an ARC.

Scarlet was trying to be a “girl boss” but was wrong in so many ways and unprofessional. At the start of the book, we’re told Nick is an asshole boss and it’s heartless but he didn’t really do anything heartless. He asked an executive assistant a very reasonable request and then were supposed to believe he’s an asshole? I couldn’t believe it and frustrated me for the rest of the book. The worst character was Sofia. As a Hispanic woman it was so frustrating to read any scene with her and I kept rolling my eyes. Why the author thinks Latinx people like to include random Spanish words to every other sentence was so strange.

The plot was fine couldn’t really connected to the characters so I couldn’t connect to their love story.

This office romance is fun, full of sass, and lots of Hart 😍 The chemistry scorches, the banter is off the charts, and the new office “worker” Oreo will steal your heart!

First impressions are everything, books should not be judged by their covers, and every office needs a suggestion box. So, when Nick agrees to a suggestion on the condition that Scarlett Evans help co-chair the event, a Valentine’s social ... what could go wrong?

Nick has information that could jeopardize Scarlett's job, will she be able to convince him there was a method to her madness? If Scarlett can soften his heart and tell him the truth, even if it hurts a little, they might have a chance at a happy-ever-after.

While this is the second book in the Hart series it can be read as a standalone

Thank you net galley for giving me this free arc in exchange for an honest review.
Not Today,Cupid is book two in The Harts Series but can be read as a standalone. If you're looking for a workplace romance, grumpy x sunshine vibe then this is a book for you.
Personally, even though I enjoyed this book, there were some things I didn't like and that's why I gave this book 3 stars.
First of all,I wish there were more interactions between Scarlett and Nick so I could see what they would be like as a couple. They started as "enemies" and we can really see how they become friends but their romantic relantionship felt a little bit forced to me and Nick's grand gesture at the end made me cringe.
Another thing that made me kind of dislike Scarlett was her decision to get Nick a dog without asking him if he wanted to get one. Then she kind of guilted him into keeping it,which is not okay at all!She also has a habit of keeping secrets for no reason which leads to them fighting because of Nick's trust issues.

Not Today, Cupid is the follow up to last year’s Miles and Miles of You. Each follows one of the adopted Hart brothers as love upends their lives, so I can only assume third brother Beck will get his own HEA soon.

Nick Hart is known as Hartless, but he meets his match in Scarlett Evans, the only employee at the company he owns who isn’t afraid to call him on his crap and his bad attitude. When the work together on a project, she uncovers all the secrets he’s been holding onto, the ones that makes him so serious and seemingly heartless. Her optimism and determination are a good match for his pessimism and always imagining the worst, and soon enough, she’s breaking down all the walls he’s built up. And I won’t lie – a tiny Frenchie being the thing that finally makes him break down and act like a human was a fantastic detail.

I liked this book, don’t get me wrong. But I felt like Scarlett sort of got the short end of the stick narratively. Sure, she has one brilliant moment of standing up to her overbearing mother. But Nick experiences so much growth and change because of Scarlett that it sort of felt like she was there to facilitate his change. The best book couples grow together, and I felt like Scarlett was pretty much the same from start to finish. I thought she was great! But I think it could have been really lovely to see a moment of Nick being as supportive of her as she was of him, and I don’t think the story gave him the chance to do that.

Scarlett Evans, executive assistant and grad student, finds that by adding in terms that describe the members of investor meetings, quite useful. However, when CEO Nick Hart demands to see her notes, she has to refuse. Whilst Nick Hart might be the world’s coldest tech legend, he is also incredibly sexy. What Nick doesn’t know, is that Scarlett has been adding in suggestions to the company suggestion box. When they end up organising the Valentine's Day Social for the company, they find themselves enjoying their time together.

A quick read with two interesting characters; however, I hoped that it was a bit less predictable. Scarlett means well but knows that the secrets that she keeps from Nick, will turn him away when he finds out. Nick is incredibly driven, in part due to traumatic event in his past.

Nick is focused on his career as the CEO of the family business and is driven to succeed to the seclusion of all else. He doesn’t allow many people close and that includes his employees but all that is about to change when he finds himself working with Scarlett on a social event for the staff.

Scarlett may be Nick’s brother’s assistant but that includes helping Nick as necessary. Her reasons for working there are twofold as she is also trying to make changes to make it a more fun environment for the staff but by teaming up with Nick she might just show him how to have fun as well.

The interactions between them were humorous as she didn’t back down from anything he said or any situation they found themselves in and the attraction was steamy as these two opposites find their perfect match in each other.

This is the second book in the Hart series and Miles' assistant Scarlett has been working toward her degree in organizational psychology while secretly working on her capstone project at Triad in order to graduate. It's hard enough working office hours without her boss's brother CEO Nick Hart requiring even more after hours time when he can't keep his own assistant. He's a control freak and workaholic and it's affecting the morale of the entire company. Her additions to the suggestion box are ignored until one day Nick's brothers dare him to put one of the suggestions in place. All of a sudden Scarlett and Nick are putting together a company Valentine's event for 3000 people and she's dragging him reluctantly through all things hearts and cupids. With all their extra time together Scarlett sees the man behind the stem CEO and is determined to help him open up again. And a little fun in the bedroom on the side can't hurt right?!
This was a cute office romance, nothing truly unique, but it kept me entertained. Oreo was definitely the humor star of the book and I loved how she made Nick more approachable in the office. I plan to check out the other books in the series.

Thank you Netgalley for the arc of Not Today Cupid!

I loved this book. Shed some happy tears, jumped for joy at the romance, and who doesn’t love a rendition of Perfect by Ed Sheeran? My heart is full, happiness is an understatement at how cute it was. Scarlett and Nick are adorable, even with all of their messiness and imperfections. Definitely recommend picking it up for a light read!

Cute opposites attract romance set in Austin!

Triada Tech billionaire Nick Hart had gotten the nickname of Hartless within the Austin tech industry after his nasty breakup last year. But that might be changing when his brother’s new assistant Scarlett Evan takes meeting notes that would win a prize for anybody playing buzzword bingo.

Scarlett is paired with Nick to improve morale with a Valentine’s party at Triada Tech and you know how that will go with an uptight tech billionaire and Scarlett who hates confrontations.

I love any book that starts out with buzz word bingo because you know that it will get snarky plus they have tacos and the cutest puppy ever!

Another Hart brothers book and after enjoying Miles' story, I was looking forward to learning more about the serious brother, Nick.
Nick is the CEO of the fin-tech company he started with his brothers and he takes that role very seriously. Actually, Nick take life seriously! Nick knows the pain of loss and betrayal and has built some pretty substantial walls around himself that keep everyone out.
Scarlett is brother Miles' admin and also finishing her master degree and hoping to join the workforce as an Organizational Effectiveness leader after graduation. As part of her school work, Scarlett has a project in which she observes the employee engagement and morale of a large company but Scarlett takes that a bit further with consistent ideas to increase morale through the employee suggestion box.
When the brothers challenge Nick to take one of the suggestions and implement the idea, Nick finds himself partnering with Scarlett to put together a company Valentines social.
Planning and time spent together lead to those smoldering looks turning into sparks and flames and soon the two are in a "no strings" relationship. Ha, like that ever works!
THis was a fun read as Nick learns to let go of some of the control he feels he needs and Scarlett is challenged to speak her mind. Throw in a cute little puppy named Oreo and the story was a lot of fun.
Please tell me there is a Beck book coming next, I need to know more about the quiet computer nerd!!!
