I really enjoyed book one Miles and Miles of You. And was thrilled to see this approved book in my shelf.
Not Today, Cupid by Jennifer Bonds was such a great workplace romance story.
I had the absolute best time reading it and never once did I lose interest in the book.
The banter between Scarlett and Nick, the undeniable tension right from the get go laced with sarcasm was hysterical and made for a very entertaining read
The writing style kept me hooked and I didn't find myself losing any interest. I enjoyed getting to know ea ch of the characters and how real the story felt. The author did a great job painting the setting, so it was easy for me to visualize the scene played out before me.
This was a really fun, lighthearted read.
(each book can be read as a standalone.)

“You had me at tacos.”
This is the first story I’ve read by author and after reading Scarlett and Nick’s story, Jennifer Bonds has landed on my auto buy/read list.
Funny, sexy and sweet, I love strong heroine Scarlett and everyone’s favorite trope of billionaire cranky hot billionaire with a heart of gold, that takes the love of this particular sassy modern woman to break through his shell.
I mean that in the best way possible as from the first page I was hooked and didn’t want to stop reading.
I’m going to have to scope out the rest of this author’s titles. Who needs money when you have books. And tacos.
3.5 stars rounded up. I liked certain parts of this book more than others, but overall it was a quick, easy read. I enjoyed the dynamic between Scarlett and Nick as they got to know each other outside of work discussions. I felt like they balanced each other out well and were a good fit for each other. There were easy, lighthearted moments between them and also deep conversations about their pasts and how they shaped who they are in the present. Oreo the Frenchie earned added bonus points for cuteness.
One thing that bothered me was that I didn’t think Nick’s “Hartless” reputation was really earned, at least not in any way that was really shown on the page. To me, he read like a man dedicated to finding security for his family and the success of his business who maybe needed to find a little more flexibility, but he didn’t come across as evil or as mean as it seemed he was supposed to. Scarlett rubbed me the wrong way at times. She was very intelligent and had a lot of great ideas, but, she read as a bit of a know-it-all at times with her delivery on her ideas and not hearing arguments against them. She’s a grad student specializing in organizational behavior, yes, but he’s a business owner who has actual experience running a company who may have legitimate reasons for the way he operates. There’s only so much one can learn in a classroom.
All-in-all, I think this book really thrives in the moments that weren’t related to anything involving the business. There were more than it might seem given that it’s set in a workplace environment, so it was an enjoyable read.
This is a really fun and funny workplace romance. Scarlett is the quirky Admin Assistant working toward her master’s degree. Nick is the grumpy CEO and one of three brothers who own the company. He’s not Scarlett’s direct boss but since he can’t seem to hold on to an Admin Asst of his own, they get stuck working together on a project to help boost employee satisfaction.
This book is worth the read for its snarky banter and chemistry between the two. Nick’s interaction with Oreo is adorable. I previously enjoyed the first book in the series, Miles and Miles of You and I’m looking forward to reading Beck’s story.

Nick comes across as emotionless, broody, control freak, and he is that way with good reason. Scarlett is a his brothers executive assistant doing her masters and come across as a very shy and timid person. Except for when she is taking notes, then she writes exactly what she thinks. When her notes land up in Nicks hands she feels like its time to say bye to her job, but instead Nick asks her to co-chair the Valentine social planning team with him. As they spend time together, they go from co workers to friends, making it difficult to ignore the attraction growing between them.
Not today, cupid was a fun read. I enjoyed the snarky one liners and clever banter in the book, and of course the steamy chemistry. Interactions between Oreo and Nick were too funny, and I enjoyed watching Nick being a softie and doing things on Oreos bidding so to say (btw Oreo is a cute little puppy). Loved the bond between the 3 brothers and cant wait to read Becks story.
Nick Hart and his two brothers are tech billionaires. Nick is the CEO of the company and is a workaholic. He is obsessed with a new launch coming up and wants nothing to interfere with it being successful. The company has a suggestion box that he never takes seriously. His tells his brothers he will do the next one which happens to be to have a company wide party for Valentines Day.
Scarlett Evan’s is Nick’s brothers personal assistant, and last week she was the coffee girl. She is smart and is getting her Master’s degree. The party is actually her suggestion but Nick doesn’t know that when she gets put in the position of helping him organize the event. This is a cheesy, cute book with some steamy parts but I never felt it was real. For Nick to take on an office dog (who is adorable) is a big stretch to my mind. But my biggest hurdle I couldn’t get past is the balance of power. She is technically his employee even though she works for his brother. That puts it into cringe area for me. Especially when more than once in the book he uses he ability to access work computers of employees including hers.
A fluffy romance worth 3 stars. If you don’t mind her being his employee you will probably rate it higher.
(3 Stars)
Scarlett Evans is working as an executive assistant at Nick Hart's company while she is also in grad school and like other women, she thinks that Nick Hart is such a good looking CEO....too bad that he is called "Hartless" for a reason. After his life of betrayals and letdowns, he does not trust anyone and does not let anyone in. When they decide to implement a suggestion from their new suggestion box, he enlists Scarlett's help , even though she is technically his brothers assistant. As they work to plan the Valentine's Day Social, he is realizing that she is trustworthy and that he appreciates her bluntness. When some of the things that she has been hiding from Nick come to light, she is not sure they will ever be able to recover from it.
This story was super sweet and I loved the immediate attraction between Nick and Scarlett even though they are complete opposites. There are a few spicy scenes, but overall, I love how he was willing to go out of his comfort zone to show her he could be a better man. I definitely plan to read Miles and Miles of You which is technically the first in the Hart Series even though they can be read as a standalone.
I read the first book in this series and it was cute. This one, however, gave me a bit of ick. It wasn't the writing - it was the concept of the main male character being a powerful CEO and the main female character being an employee. Granted, she technically was not a direct report, but just seems like a questionable choice. Especially when he insists he only wants a physical relationship with her. Some of the descriptive language was over-the-top, enough to sometimes roll my eyes, but not enough to DNF. But, the employer-employee dynamic was off-putting to me.

This was such a cute fun read!
This story has quite a few of my favorite tropes…workplace romance, enemies to lovers, grumpy X sunshine ❤️
Scarlett Evans is an executive assistant for a major tech company is Austin. She’s open minded and wants nothing more than to improve the moral of the billion dollar company. In enters Nick Hart. Grumpy perfectionist CEO, and brother to Scarlett’s boss. He is fully in control at all times…until Scarlett comes barreling into his boardroom and his life.
I really enjoyed the banter between Nick and Scarlett as they are forced to work together to put together a Valentines Day social for their company. Scarlett stands up to Nick when no one else does making him rethink his “heartless” way of life. Can Nick forget his past and change Scarlett’s original opinion of him?
Definitely going back to read Miles’ story!

Not Today Cupid by Jennifer Bonds is a cute story about two social misfits who must learn to let their preconceived notions go as they work together on the company Valentine social. Nick’s the tech company’s CFO; totally focused on the bottom line. Scarlett is his brother’s admin, formerly the coffee cart person, and working online on her MBA. The dialogue is witty, often snarky and the attraction…well just read to find out. This reviewer would classify this as a worthy new adult read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Highly recommend.
What a fun book! I've come to love Jennifer Bonds and especially this series! Nick and Scarlett are an unlikely couple, especially given he's a grumpy CEO and she's his brothers assistant. Loved the first scene where she bolts into the boardroom, being an EA myself, I related to all the obstacles she ran into with a C Suite Exec. Loved Oreo and Sophia, cracked up with the photo booth, and adore Miles and Beck. Well written, funny, hot, sexy and definitely romantic. Loved every minute of it!

I threw myself into this workplace romance, loving the push and pull of the relationship between Scarlett and Nick. Scarlett is intelligent, fierce (where arguing with Nick is concerned) and open to new things. Nick appears cold, in control and determined to protect both his company and his family. With such different personalities, sparks fly and it was a delight to watch these two battle each other and begin to open up as they spend more time together both inside and out of work. Already juggling work, her Master’s degree and an important final project, Scarlett doesn’t have time for a relationship and Nick being closed off to love and a total workaholic is in the same situation, though it seems they’re the only ones that can’t see what’s really happening. Nick’s brothers and Scarlett’s best friend aren’t so easy to fool.
It was easy to see early on that things were going to blow up between them at some point, with the blame laying at both their feet, and I’m a real sucker for a bit of drama so I was anticipating the confrontation all along whilst simultaneously begging Scarlett to come clean sooner rather than later. I was definitely cheering Scarlett for her resolution not to be dragged into any emotional baggage at the end there, though.
With scorching eye contact, a bit of steam and a sweet ending, this book was just what I needed and I devoured it in a day. Having enjoyed Miles and Miles of You, featuring one of Nick's brothers, it was fun diving back into their world but can definitely be read as a standalone.
The second book in the Hart brothers series features stoic billionaire tech executive Nick, who the media dubbed “Hartless.” Nick is consumed with an upcoming product launch when his brothers get him to agree to implement an idea from the employee suggestion box—hosting a Valentine’s Day themed company social with his brother Miles’s executive assistant, Scarlett. Sparks fly when he finds she challenges him to step out of his comfort zone.
I loved that this installment included a cameo by matriarch Mama Hart, the woman who adopted Nick, Beck, and Miles. Smart and upbeat, Scarlett makes the perfect foil for Nick in this grumpy sunshine trope rom-com. Scarlett’s roommate/childhood bestie acts as her support system, while Nick has his brothers. Unlike MILES AND MILES OF YOU, where the only glimpses of the other brothers were via phone/video calls, Miles and Beck appear in several scenes which showcase their close bonds. I can’t wait to see Beck get his happy ever after in the next installment.
There’s an event that is mentioned several times in the story that is never shown and while the epilogue was fun, I wanted a touch more. That being said, the grand gesture was hilariously epic, both Scarlett and Nick made great leads with satisfying character arcs, and the humor was spot on. Warning, this book may cause a craving for tacos.

Nick is the "emotionless" brother in a trio of successful siblings. He's the one who needs to relax and let himself love. Scarlett is the wild card assistant who needs to find her backbone and does it needling Nick.
Not Today, Cupid was a joy to read! It's a fresh take on the grumpy boss/sunshine employee trope with lots of funny one-liners and steamy moments. There's clever banter, a huge grand gesture, and a puppy with a knack for making Nick do the things he doesn't want to do but SHOULD do.
The pop culture references made my day. There was even one for The Faculty, one of my favorite under-rated movies!
My one big complaint is in the repeated use of the phrase "heartless bastard the media portrays me to be." It was used over and over and could have either been omitted or reworded. Other than that, I greatly enjoyed this book and will go back and read the first in the series!

This book was the cutest little thing! Fun, sassy and heart-warming. I love these character's wicked minds and tricks. I can't decide if I liked this or Miles more, hmm...
It took me longer to connect to the main characters and the ending/groveling was a bit over the top for my tastes but I really enjoyed the story overall. I breezed through it in almost one sitting and gave me all the smiles and warm and fuzzies.
Loved the grumpy/sunshine banter and seeing Nick become from Hartless to Softie. And can we all agree Oreo is the best character in this book?🐶🐶🐶 That little doggie sure has personality in spades lol!
Loved Nick and Scarlett together, especially the way she always gave him a piece of her mind and put him in his place. He really stood no chance against her sunny and insertive personality. It was delicious.
The spice is awesome (okay, I liked this one better than previous book - nothing like a stoic cold hero getting all hot, dirty and possessive). But the vibe is on the lighter side, I would have liked to see more of their romantic interactions, how and why their feels evolved before the big L word was out...
I can't wait for Beck's book!

“So, yeah. Falling in love is definitely not a mistake I'll be repeating.”
"I need to be inside you. To feel you underneath me. To hear you scream my name." I lower my gaze to hers, our eyes locking. "Tell me you want that, too."
Sooo in love with this series !!!! I am absolutely thrilled to read these books as soon as they come out !!! In truth, when I found out that this book was out to be requested on NetGalley, I went straight for it, remembering how good book one in this series was, and I am so glad I did !!!!! While Miles and Lucy had their own tension, Scarlett and Nick were just explosive !!!!!!
Again we have boss romance and forced proximity and working together on a project. But this time there is more grumpy sunshine. This time there is an obsessive with control Nick, trying to prove a very open minded and wonderfully gorgeous Scarlett that he is not as “heartless” as people made him to be !!!!
This time we have an amazing emotional moment especially since the author gave us the opportunity to know more about him and more about the Hart boys in general and their background!!!
And don’t let me even start taking about the spicy times !!!!! These Hart men seem to be my undoing when it comes to be hot and handsome !!!!! I am obsessed with them !!!! Against thank you so much for the opportunity for reading it !!!!!
"He's got a good heart under that surly exterior. You just have to find it," Mama Hart says, patting my hand. "And if you give him the chance, no man will love you better."
I had a lot of fun reading this book. I really adored Scarlett and how strong she was in a male led environment. I fully admit that it took me some time to warm up to Nick but I’m guessing that’s how it was meant to be (I absolutely hated him in the beginning.) I really enjoyed their banter and actually really enjoyed the story. This book is definitely on the spicier side so be aware of that if you’re not into super spicy. I will say that this makes me want to read the first in the series and has me very curious about the next one.
LOVED this book! I love how Scarlett found ways to irritate Nick, while he has no idea its her. Their interactions of fun and funny. I found myself laughing out loud and thoroughly enjoying this novel. The characters are entertaining and have enough depth to make them interesting, I found myself invested in their story and wanting them to get their HEA ending.
If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list.
