The preview was good, though I was a little disappointed it wasn't the whole book. My own fault for not reading more thoroughly when requesting it!
This was just an introduction to the novel. Hard to rate the book itself, but the concept and introduction were intriguing enough that I may read the book when it comes out in its entirety.
Just a teaser, and now I want more! I love this author and am excited about this upcoming release. Will be watching for the book to hit netgally.
I read just a teaser of this light and fun Regency novel. Three Earl’s take their much awaited annual trip together but they get waylaid and involved in rescue and the resulting mayhem. But the rescued lady Clementine is earl Archie’s childhood friend. She is bold and free now. He admires that until… knowing that she will be a spinster for the rest of her life she asks him to deflower her. She wants to know what it is like. No strings attached, she’s just after the knowledge and feelings. Uh. Oh.
I can’t wait to read the full length novel. I marked that I would not recommend or purchase because I need to read it in full.
This sample chapter has certainly piqued my interest me and I cannot wait to read the full novel. The cover art is beautiful and fun! Did I mention I can't wait to read the full novel?!?
Awe, I honestly did not see the part where it says this is a preview but I was delighted none the less to read the first chapter. Jenny Holiday is an awesome writer with the ability to capture your attention, even from the first chapter, and hold you there. I cannot wait to read the entire book because the preview. Is just so freaking great.
5 out of 5 stars from me.
Since this is just a short excerpt, I can judge the book in any kind of way except to say I am very interested in reading more and hope that the entire book will be made available for request.
I enjoy Jenny Holiday’s writing so it was easy to request an upcoming historical fiction from her. It is my mistake that I didn’t see it was clearly marked as a preview only giving me the first chapter. The Earls Trip set up is a friend group of Earls take an annual two week trip together. The beginning chapter introduces the Earls as they begin their journey. Each is given a smidge of background and their interests. I assume this is the beginning of a new series where each will find love. The writing is fun, infused with friendship and camaraderie. A hint of the storyline and love interest for this book is set up as well. I’m giving four stars for now anticipating it could go higher when the novel is released in April 2024.
A fun and promising start to a historical romance! I didn’t realize this was only an excerpt when I started it, but I’m really looking forward to reading more when the whole ARC is available. Jenny Holiday consistently writes entertaining, swoony, and funny romances across a variety of sub-genres and I’m looking forward to getting more of her take on historical romance.
