This book was great! I couldn’t put it down! We meet Alex who’s a journalist. She receives a copy of book. She decides to do some research on the author Avery, who is no longer alive. Along the way, we learn more about what happened to Avery and also see a relationship form between Alex and Avery’s husband Joe. The characters in Avery’s book are similar to the people in her life. This book had some great twists! I was not expecting the ending at all. I’m looking forward to reading more books by Karen!Thank you Karen Cole, Quercia Books and Netgalley for the ARC!

We meet a Journalist, Alex who receives a copy of a book at her front door. She begins to read the book. Alex decides to research’s the author. She finds out the author has died in the same way as the main character of the book.
I'm so happy I got to read this book. Believe when I say this book hooked me in from beginning to end. I promise you will not be disappointed. Once you think you have it all figured out Karen Coles throws in a new twist and turn.
4.5 stars rounded up since there’s no half star option
Overall this book kept me really entertained and guessing throughout. I was torn between 2-3 people as “culprits” along with trying to figure out if Avery herself was to blame. A certain relationship between the MC Alex and one of the men goes way too quickly which was definitely a little questionable but it made the ending more believable.
Joe, Joe, Joe- what can I say 🤣
I would read another book by this author.
After the apparent fall of Avery off of a cliff, Alex receives her manuscript in the mail along with a newspaper clipping. The book follows the same path as the actual events.
This is enough to send Alex to trace the route that Avery took.
Soon enough things don't seem right and Alex has quite a mystery to solve.
This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher and the author. The main character is a journalist and decides to look into the death of an author. The characters are likable and keep the story moving. The setting is intriguing and adds to the mystery. Enjoy this book that is fiction but reads like nonfiction at times. This author is talented at writing a cannot put down story.
Good book! This book had a bit of everything! It had suspense, intrigue, murder, mystery, A kind of who done it, and a few crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I definitely recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
