Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Spice: 7/10

Filthy Desires is a fast burn and spicy quick read following the story of a college student, Reese, and a rich older gentleman, Lucas. The book is a bit dark and has several triggers such as rape and sexual assault that may hinder some from enjoying it.

I found it to be a great fast read...some BDSM, a hot guy with a heart and some perfectly described scenes made it enjoyable. As a reader I was left wanting a more developed story and background on the characters. It felt a bit disconnected and left me feeling like I did not need to read the rest of the books in the series.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for my advanced readers copy of Filthy Desires by R.M. Grey.

Content Warning: sexual assault, age gap, and drugging

School is Reese’s priority. However, her friend convinces her to go out one night and Reese meets Lucas Blessington. He’s handsome, famous, and owns his own company. Reese and Lucas have a one-night stand, but due to an emergency Reese runs away. When Reese next sees Lucas, he’s the professor for her class! Will Reese and Lucas work out what they feel or each other or will miscommunication be their downfall?

Wow oh wow. I read this book so quickly. It wasn’t the most well written thing I’ve ever read, but it was so enjoyable. I found myself smiling and rooting for the two main characters. The book had a lot of steamy scenes, sometimes with kink. The plot itself wasn’t too bad, but I wish it had gone more in depth. It felt rushed, but I understand this is a shorter story so there is only so much the author can fit in. Overall this book was a quick enjoyable read. I give it a solid 3/5 stars!

Fun and fast read with lots of steam. Decent character development, but the main character of this book is the time spent between Reese and Lucas. From the first chapter to the last the spice doesn't let up.

A spicy late-night read which is quick but also has a good plot. This isn't just spice, although it is short there's a good plot and the characters have to time to develop. So if you want spice with a plot I recommend this.

Filthy Desires was a great night-time read. The story had a good pace, dialogue and action. R.M. Grey’s story could be cooked a little more in the plot area but the spice was spot on. The Teacher/Student romance gets to me every damn time and I am thinking of declaring it my Slump-solving trope.

Reese and Lucas’ personalities have not been dived into for the story but the experience of the story is not lessened. The book is marked under Erotica for a reason. I would love to read more books by this author because it reminded me of all the best parts of Fifty Shades, which I could not read beyond the first book.

One of the best moments of the story was Lucas’ vulnerable moments. Be it his caveman actions or that of a broken man, I felt good knowing that Reese was the one who was given the choice of pursuing the matter at her speed. There were a few time jumps but nothing that flipped the story on its haunches.

I’ll say it again. Filthy Desires is perfect for a private late night read with self-love on the side

Filthy Desires by R.M. Grey was a steamy read! The story follows Reece, a college student who's all about her studies until her best friend convinces her to let loose and have some fun. That's when she meets Lucas, a billionaire playboy who she has a passionate one-night stand with.

But things get complicated when Lucas shows up as a guest professor in one of Reece's classes. Despite their initial shock, they can't seem to keep their hands off each other. The chemistry between them is undeniable, but Reece can't help but wonder if she's risking her future by being involved with her professor and a notorious playboy.

I really enjoyed this book, especially the dynamic between Reece and Lucas. Reece is submissive in the bedroom but doesn't let Lucas get away with anything outside of it, which keeps things interesting. And Lucas is just...hot. His dirty talk game is on point.

Overall, if you're looking for a quick and spicy read with a little bit of forbidden romance, Filthy Desires is definitely worth checking out. Just be aware that there are some trigger warnings, so make sure to check those out before diving in.

Business student Reese is all work and no play until she joins her roommate Melissa on one night of fun. At the dance club, Reese meets Lucas, a business entrepreneur/billionaire. It doesn't take long before they are wrapped in each other. However, soon Lucas becomes Reese's professor and the situation takes an interesting turn. While this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.

I enjoy a quick, spicy read, but unfortunately for me, this romance missed the mark. Lucas is a self-proclaimed and well-known playboy who has women at his beck and call. Reese is a "curvy" business student who considers herself independent. When they first meet, Reese states she is determined not to be "one of those girls" that fall at Lucas' feet because of his fame, good looks, or wealth. Cut to 5 minutes later, she's laying sunny-side-up on his office desk. ::insert eyeroll here:: Additionally, in this same short rendezvous, Lucas goes from prominent casanova to solely dedicated to this woman he doesn't know. So much so that he stalks her (let's just call it what it is) and finds out which university she attends so he can weasel his way back into her life via being a guest professor in one of her classes. The entire storyline feels incredibly rushed and doesn't fall into the short, uncomplicated erotic story I was expecting.

The speed of the story also presents complicated scenarios that could have been avoided in a different format. First, Filthy Desires is heavy on the Daddy Kink trope which isn't usually problematic for me. However, Reese has significant daddy issues from her childhood which makes the sexual content/dialogue take on a stereotypical "ick" feeling. Second, she is referred to multiple times as "curvy" and at one point, she even makes a statement along the lines of "obviously I like to eat" (during sex, no less). Lastly, the author writes Reese as moderately insecure with her body, even going so far as to make it one of her reasons a relationship with Lucas would not work. Despite this insecurity, Lucas needed only to reassure her a single time, for it to magically erase all of Reese's reservations. As one of many women with body issues, this seems so unrealistic to me and I felt it to be a drastic misrepresentation of the topic. If it was something that could be waved away that easily, why even address it at all? Why not make her a confident curvy woman who doesn't struggle with body image if the story doesn't have the time to delve into that social issue?

Ultimately, my review boils down to one simple fact - that this story was never meant to fit into 119 pages. The current length gives no justice to the author's intended depth of the characters, plot subtleties, and sexual content. If the author were to expand this storyline into a 300-400 page book, I would have enjoyed it immensely. If an author gives me issues such as body image, playboy turned one-woman man, different worlds, etc. I want ample content to work through those issues to finally find the HEA. Unfortunately, too many side plots into this short story creates a feeling of being very surface layer.

The book had desires, romance and was a sexy story - what more can I say - I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Book Name: Filthy Desires
Series: Professors of Westview University
Author: RM Grey
Rating: ⭐️⭐️💫/5

Reese is just living her life, going to school and hanging out with her roommate when she meets Lucas at a club. He just happens to be a millionaire and they end up hooking up in his office. When he later shows up at her class as the new guest professor, she’s shocked to see him again for the first time in over a month.

There was a lot going on in this book, considering how short it was. I didn’t connect with the FMC at all and actually thought she was kind of a bitch for no reason. Lucas was trying to do nice things for her and she was like, stick it up your ass!! I think that maybe, in the end, there just wasn’t enough time to build the story??

CN for sexual assault, date rape drugs

Filthy Desires : Professors of Westview University #2 is a short but faced paced steamy read. It wasn't a deep book, and there just wasn't enough of it to get to know the characters. It was all about the erotica and the sexy scenes, and is good for anyone looking for this.

A hot and steamy Cinderalla story with a college student/visiting professor twist. This is a quick read and it is all about the steam, however, the plot is pretty decent as well. For those of you who need trigger warnings, there is a couple of instances where the damsels in distress need to be rescued from assault situations, but the story ends with a happily ever after. The steam is well written and hot, hot, hot! Quite a bit of angst and overcoming body image issues, but that enhances the storyline and while it isn't delved into deeply, it does bring the plot together more.

I just finished reading this book on my kindle. It had me worrying, crying and every emotion in between. I absolutely loved the story line. The characters came alive in my mind as I got to know each one. I never wanted to put it down but I had to make myself. I will definitely be reading this again.

All Reese breathes and thinks about is school. One night, her BFF Melissa tells her that she should live her life a little bit. So she does. She goes to a club where she meets billionaire playboy, Lucas Blessington. They have the steamiest night of their lives and Reese thinks she will never see him again. Little does she know that he has researched her and has become a guest professor for the rest of the semester in her class. Will Reese fall in love with Lucas or will the playboy break her heart?

I really enjoyed this book. It was just the right amount of smut and plot. I did not want to put this book down at all until I found out what was going to transpire between Reese and Lucas.

This is book 2 in a series, I haven't read the first book and didn't feel as though I was missing anything. This book is HOT. If you want a quick and spicy read where the MMC is obsessed with the FMC and will do anything to have her, then this book is for you.

The title did not disappoint! Filthy Desires is right !

Reese was not expecting anything more than a one night stand with Lucas .. until he turns up at her school as a guest professor!!
This is definitely a He fell first because man, the lengths Lucas would go to find Reese after their one night stand …
For this being a short novel it was done perfectly. I’m not a fan of that instalove so the way the author wrote the timeline for Reese and Lucas was done great.

This book is quite short and steamy.
Reese’s priority is school but one night she meets Lucas Blessington in a bar. He’s tall, rich, and handsome, and can get any girl he wants. They end spending one passionate night together. When he walks into her class and announces that he is the guest professor for the rest of the semester, she knows she is in deep trouble.
I enjoyed it even though the story line seemed a bit absurd sometimes. If you are into insta-love, super-hot scenes and a bit of insubstantial aghast, you will like this one.

It had a promising story line and characters. I wish it was longer and more in-depth with the story which would allow for a better connection to the characters.

This was hot !! I've just satisfied my smut craving, ouff 🥵 The spice level of this one is off the charts. The chemistry is unbearable, I felt it coming off the pages.

Lucas is one hot man, he's so obsessed with Reese from the beginning and would do anything for her. Reese is a beautiful curvy girl, submissive in the bedroom but a strong ass girl out of it. Not scared to say what she thinks.

I was definitely hooked from the beginning, their chemistry, banter and spice was great. For a short book it really had just the right amount of everything and didn't feel rushed in my opinion. There's actually a story which is was kept me invested so much.

If you're looking for a spicy, hot, off the charts chemistry and banter romance with an obsessed billionaire playboy, this one's for you!

This book could use more editing. The writing is not engaging, and the character building was also poor. I could not engage or relate to any of them, Everything seemed underexplored and rushed. Did not finish the book.

Quick Summary: A fast-paced ero-ro

My Review: Filthy Desires by R.M. Grey is book two in the Professors of Westview University series.

About the Book: When Reese Lucero and her bestie decided to go out clubbing, little did they know that their lives would change in a flash. One minute they were having a good time dancing the night away and the next minute, they were invited to the VIP section. A sexy encounter and a bit of a hot and steamy session follows for one of them. A moment of terror follows for the other.

Lucas Blessington was a man of particular tastes. He knew what he wanted, and what he wanted, he got. He wanted the dark-haired beauty who had given him a most memorable night. He would have the young woman who had escaped his grasp.

About the Characters:

Reese - College student, goal-oriented, loyal friend, outgoing, focused, likes what she likes

Lucas - Successful businessman, billionaire playboy reputation, bad boy tendencies in the bedroom, driven

Melissa - College student, sweet and innocent, loyal friend, in need of a protector

Carter - Security agent, strong, fierce watchful, protective of those he cares about, understanding

Isaac - Successful doctor, attractive, wolfish, chameleon-like (regarding character)

Damien - Half brother, troubled, immature, selfish, came across as broken

Beth - College student, flirtatious, pushy, came across like a vixen

My Final Say: This romance was heavy with dark and spicy tropes. There was certainly a story worth exploring present within the pages of this book, however, the pacing made it somewhat challenging to grab a hold of. With that said, readers who enjoy the Fifty Shades vibe will like this, dare I say, lighter version.

Other: I almost wish this story was longer. I would have appreciated having more time to delve into some of the presented content. This book made me want to know the character backgrounds more, as well as the conflict points. What I can say is that the emotional responses of the main characters, post the period of disconnection, made me feel for them both. I wanted them to work things out.

Rating: 3/5
