This was such a quick and cute brothers best friends rom-com. But also add two adorable dogs ❤️
Alt hasn’t seen her childhood crush in 10 years, since he loves to California but after one accidental FaceTime, she is throw back into her crush.
Levi has had a secret crush on Aly forever, but she is his best friends sister which means off limits.
The two fall back into a rhythm and make up for lost time. I LOVED THIS BOOK, it was such a fun and quick read.

I thought this was a really lovely and sweet romance . I loved Aly and Levi’s connection, the dog addition to any story is always a bonus and i think adds more to a book. There were some cheesy moments, but they didn’t put me off, overall this was a fun read
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I loved this book. It's so sweet and has tropes that I really love! I love a brother's best friend romance, and I love a romance that develops from people who have known each other since they were kids!
There is some serious heartache involved in this romcom, however, as the main character's brother is in an accident, and as a result - is in a coma. There's also family drama and parents who treat her very poorly. There is also a long distance element, which weighs heavy on the heart.
It's a very, very good book!
Thank you to Kelsey and Netgalley for the ebook ARC! I loved this book!
Dear Adam has one of my favorite tropes, brother’s best friend with a hint of childhood friends, as Adam and Aly are twins, having shared friends as kids. Both Aly and Levi had secret crushes on one another and never acted on it. But now as adults…let’s go.
This book has a small town vibe, some very quirky characters (I love you, Glenda) you’ll love, some characters you’ll despise (gotta wear socks, man) and the absolute most perfect literary dog of all time 🥨.
Happy pub day, Kelsey! Thank you for sharing your book with me!
Twins Aly and Adam Bloomington are inseparable so when Adam needs to go to California for work, Aly agrees to look after his badly behaved dachshund, Pretzel. When Aly sees that Adam is staying with his best friend Levi, which is also her secret crush, she is more smitten than ever. However, Aly’s life changes when Adam is in an accident that leaves him a coma. In an attempt to cope, Alt begins to text Adam. Unbeknownst to Aly, Levi is reading her text messages. Levi soon realises that he is running out of time to convince Aly of his secret.
A sweet romance with a clever storyline. There are some evil characters who were quite loathsome and yet, the two main characters were quite lovely. As far as a romance, there was nothing more than one or two kisses. This part was a bit confusing with kisses on the cheek and on the forehead but then was a suggestion of an ‘empty bed’. Overall, a good read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Dear Adam has a very interesting premise where you have inseparable twins who are always supporting each other until a tragic accident leaves one of them in a coma. Now having to navigate life with (toxic) family drama, messy doggo's, and old feelings arising again for your brother's best friend.
Sadly...the writing for this one just did not click with me. The story itself gave off very cutesy 2000's vibes, but the writing was just very cheesy? and felt a bit sloppy at times.
I was also irked with the overdone celebrity references right from the start...
The way the story ended was also messily rounded up, leaving me with a few questions... like, for instance (SPOILERS), why did no one tell Levi that Adam was awake after a week? Why didn't Levi say he was at the gala? The moment between Aly and her mother at the hospital but nothing at the end? The family business being handed to Hudson?
These are just questions I personally wanted to see elaborated on.
Don't get me wrong, it's not the worst story by any means and will definitely have its audience. I actually really enjoyed Levi and his pov. I would've just liked the writing cleaned up a bit and not so rushed at the important parts.

As soon as I read the synopsis on this one I knew I had to read it!
This sweet romcom tells the story of Aly and Levi and their journey back to each other after years apart.
Aly is sweet and fiercely independent. I love her relationship with her brother and her best friend Emma. Her DIY projects are great and she proves that even though she’s a woman she can handle anything.
Levi is Aly’s brother’s best friend. He has been in love with Aly for as long as he can remember. He moves away to California to try and prove himself by opening his own construction company but things don’t work out the way he plans. He’s back in South Carolina and back in Aly’s life.
I love the relationship that Aly and Levi have. They are so sweet together and I love their banter. Their dogs Pretzel and Hank bring some comedic relief to the story that has some tough topics.
This was a cute quick read and I really enjoyed it.
a really cute book, i love kelsey’s writing style a lot and it helped connect with the characters a lot.

This book is so adorable!
I'm a true sucker for brother's best friend trope so you can imagine my excitement with Dear Adam. This book is a perfect "read in one sitting on a Sunday afternoon" kind of book.💗
Aly always had a huge crush on Levi, but unfortunately since Levi moved to California 10 years ago they really lost touch: she never saw him again and she never heard from him, either.
So it definitely catches Aly by surprise when one day she's FaceTiming Adam (her twin brother) and spots a handsome young man, only to discover that it's Levi himself, and all of a sudden the butterflies Aly thought were long gone come back in an instant.
Turns out Levi also had a crush on Aly, but Adam not only made it crystal clear to stay away from his sister, he was also getting in-between them all the time.
After Adam's terrible car accident which leaves him in a coma, Aly and Levi seem to reconnect and comfort each other.
I enjoyed very much getting to know these characters, watch them realise they have always felt the same for one another and see their friendship grow and evolve. Also, the doggies in this book? MY HEART MELTED! 🥰
Ohhh and also, Adam and Emma?! Please tell me this is happening, because I now realise I very much need their story!!
I wish there were another 1-2 chapters in the book, because I feel I need a closure when it comes to Aly's terrible-horrible-ew-ew-ew parents (and, well, Hudson) since it ended in a rather "odd" way, but I do hope Aly got the courage to stand up to them and, well, tell them to mind their own business (ideally in a ruder way 😌).
Thank you NetGalley and Kelsey Whitney for the ARC of this book!💗
This was a lovely read 🥰 The two MCs just seemed meant to be. It’s a closed door romance, but the love story is still pretty gripping. Sooo, I’m assuming there must be a series coming from this? There has to be a next book - there was CLEARLY something going on with Adam and Emma, and I kept waiting on it to be revealed!
3 stars.
The vibes:
- brothers best friend
- Childhood friends
- 🐶🐶 🖤
My Thoughts:
This was a really cute story. I really liked Aly and Levi’s friendship. I liked the fixer upper vibe we got from Levi. I liked the floral shop vibes from Aly. I felt like Aly’s parents reminded me a little bit of Richard and Emily Gilmore from Gilmore Girls. But Aly’s parents really didn’t have redeemable qualities for me like the Gilmore grandparents do.
The family conflicts really pushed the envelope for me and felt like a too big of a mess to clean up as quickly as it happened. Aly let her parents rule he life in so many ways that I really was bothered. And while I did really like Levi- I struggled with his lack of honesty with Aly concerning Adam’s phone.
Overall- this was a really quick and very sweet romance filled with doggy drama. The dog involvement was cute and I love when animals are included. There were some moments that were silly and heavy on the cheese fest - but I think it’ll work for a lot of readers.
Releases today!
Thank you so much to Kelsey Whitney and NetGalley for providing me with this ARC to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
"That's the thing about dogs: you can be having the worst day in the entire world but to them, it's their best day all because you came home."
I'm starting with the dogs in the sweet romcom Dear Adam by funny author Kelsey Whitney. Dachshund Pretzel and German Shepard Hank steal the show with their antics from swimming with dolphins, eating underwear to their love story with little Pretzel insisting on being the big spoon when they cuddle.
The human love story is sweet too. Amy's twin brother Adam is in a coma after an accident. To connect to him she texts him about her life, including reconnecting with Adam's best friend Levi, despite Adam's disapproval in the past. The thing is Levi has Adams phone.
I really enjoyed the innocence of this story. It's a closed door romance but the chemistry is still there for these two. The writer had me giggling at their banter, smiling at their love of Meg Ryan movies and appreciating the dual POV to understand their reasons for their actions. I hope this is the start of a series because there was definitely something between Amy's best friend Emma and Adam.
I received a free copy of this book from the author via #NetGalley for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

Aly hasn’t seen her childhood crush Levi in 10 years. Her twin, Adam, goes to California for work, and visits Levi while there. They FaceTime with Aly, and she can’t believe how he looks and seems now - and she’s intrigued to get to know him again.
Levi secretly crushed on Aly since, forever, but Adam made it clear that his sister was off-limits, constantly getting in between them.
After a car accident leaves Adam in a coma, Aly and Levi find comfort and get to know each other better, who they are now.
“Now, things feel much the same yet completely different.”
There were a few things that I didn’t fully understand - for example, why Levi never came back in 10 years (his parents still lived near Aly/Adam). HOWEVER. I LOVED this book anyway.
It was just super cute and sweet, and I love when 2 people who secretly crush on one another for years finally get together.

This book is so cute! You've got dogs, you've got second chances, reconnected friends, and of course twins! I loved reading about Aly and Levi's budding romance and could tell there was a lil something going on with Emma there on the side...
But these mf dogs lol. The chaos that they caused drove me crazy, but only because it's so relatable lol. I have a big boy and he's always up to something, just like Pretzel and Hank.
Just one gripe before I wrap this up: Ms. Whitney, I hope you're not feeding real life dogs salsa and grape jelly -- both things are bad for them! Onions and grapes are a no-no. This was all I could think while reading those scenes lol. Otherwise, I am very content with this book.
If you like: brother's best friend, childhood crushes, doggy mayhem and unicorn underpants... you absolutely do not want to miss this sweet romance!
When I first read the description of this one, I was definitely curious to check it out. A brother in a coma isn't necessarily the first thing that we think of when we heard 'romantic comedy' and yet the author made it work. Those emotional moments blended well with the humorous ones to result in a story that had me unable to put it down. I loved the chemistry between Aly and Levi... they were so fun together, and there is just something about mutual childhood crushes finally coming together that makes for a sweet story, right? The comedy in this one was absolutely fantastic--- thanks in large part to a couple of crazy dogs who always seem to be causing some kind of trouble! I found myself laughing out loud several times throughout at their antics.
It seemed like the author was perhaps hinting at another romance to come... and I'm certainly hope that my assumption here is correct because I would absolutely love to read it. Either way, I look forward to seeing more from this author in the future!

This book! Oh what a sweet, wholesome read. With its laugh out loud moments to its jaw dropping + emotional moments…I couldn’t get enough.
Aly and her best friend who happens to be her twin brother are as thick as thieves. With unbearable parents - they need eachother to help keep one another sane. When Adam gets into an accident and Aly loses the everyday support of her brother, her world is turned upside down. While this event was emotional and sad, it did not make this book super sad as a whole, which I appreciated- I was looking for a romcom and somehow this author rode that line flawlessly. It wasn’t overly focused on forgetting about Adam or soley on Adam and his coma. I liked that! There were multiple storylines going on but not one seemed to overtake the other.
Levi, Adam’s best friend stepped in to be there for Aly - unbeknownst a mutual crush between the two of them. But Levi has a secret that he’s needing to come clean to Aly about having to do with Adam’s cellphone…the cellphone Aly keeps texting with updates on life to keep Adam in the loop while he’s in a coma…

Thank you @netgalley and @kelseypwhitney for this eARC in exhange for my honest review.
I'm 10000000% obsessed with this cover which is why I decided to request to read an ARC. Man, am I glad I did. Such a cute story I can't wait to recommend.
So cute, so funny. I found myself devouring this book in the best possible way. I loved the story and the characters so so much
This book is delightfully swoony-sweet and bellyachingly funny!!
I immediately connected with FMC Aly - she is so relatable, and the chaos that surrounds her is hilarious. She had a crush on MMC Levi in school, but alas, he is her brother, Adam’s best friend, and he was always separating them. As the story develops, they reconnect and a delightful slow burn romance ensues. I thought the story idea was really interesting, the characters were engaging and I enjoyed how the story played out.
I also really enjoyed taking in the setting of Charleston, SC through the eyes of Aly and Levi. Their affection for their hometown really drew me in. I definitely want to visit someday - maybe even take a dolphin tour (IYKYK).
This story is as much about two pups as it is the actual story. The absolutely chaos that is Adam’s wiener dog, Pretzel, is perfection. She’s an absolute star. She made every scene better with her mayhem and predilection of eating underwear crotches. Levi’s dog, Hank, is a 90 lb German shepherd who is head over tail for Pretzel and provides ample laughs as he compliments Pretzel’s shenanigans and creates chaos of his own.
I truly enjoyed this wonderfully sweet romance.
thank you so much to the author and NetGalley for an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
tbh, I decided to pick this one up because the cover is so adorable and I’m so happy I did because this was such a cute read! I loved the main characters (Aly, Levi, Adam, Emma, and the puppies) and Aly and Levi were just a couple you really want to root for! the banter was spot on and had me lol-ing multiple times… and they’re just such good hearted people that deserve happiness!
I felt like there were a few things missing from the ending (Adam and Emma???) so I almost feel like there will be a sequel 🤞🤞🤞
definitely a quick, cute, easy read with tons of puppy shenanigans!
