This author is one I adore! This book was a fun, sweet quick read!I adored Charlotte and Finn! They were perfectly matched! Charlotte is in need of a husband with funds fast. She’s living with her aunt & uncle who are giving her a time frame to marry before they kick her and her sister out of their house. Her parents and brother are dead. So when Charlotte get a proposal, she says yes and they should marry fast. Enter Finn, Earl of Trevelyan. She refuses to let Charlotte marry the man, so he kidnaps her! They get stuck in a bad snow storm along they way where they end up staying at this small village inn. Once there they have to pretend they’re married so they can share they last room! Finn is hard working and has had a crush on Charlotte the whole time he’s known her. I loved watching Charlotte find herself and fall for Finn! These two had great chemistry! I really enjoyed the people at the inn as well. All in all a great read!

I recieved a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Charlotte has to marry, her brother was killed and her uncle the baron has ordered he and her sister to leave by the 2nd anniversary of his death.
Charlotte is desperate and agrees to marry a man she doesn't love.
Finn, her brothers best friend, won't allow that to happen.
Finn was so sweet and helpful to everyone. He believed the worst about himself even though he did nothing wrong. He was a genuinely good guy who didn't believe he deserved Charlotte.
I also liked that Charlotte had some fight in her but saw who Finn really was.
Trapped at an inn during a storm in the same room pretending to married is a trope I was enjoy and this book did that and the rest of the plot well.

Earls Rush In is the first book I've read by Jennifer Haymore but it won't be the last. She has written a solid story with some interesting characters that kept me turning the pages.

The fmc is Charlotte and she is trapped in the carriage with her dead brother’s most beloved friend. When he decides to sweep her away during a terrible snowstorm without a clear explanation (she only know it relates to her betrothal plans), she doesn't know what to do.

The Earl of Trevelyan is determined to rescue Charlotte from her disastrous engagement. He promised his best friend that she and her sister would be looked after so he will do whatever it takes to make sure she doesn't marry someone he doesn't believe she should.

When their carriage flips and they are stranded at an inn in the country (which only has one bed by the way...) they find themselves facing the desires they never admitted to before but when Charlotte learns Trevelyan's secret, the question is whether that budding relationship will survive.

Definitely check this one out if you're looking for a new historical romance. As I mentioned, I thought this was a quick and easy read that hits some of the usual romance tropes. The writing is well done and I'll be checking out this author again!

I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I really wanted to enjoy this story. But I just did not enjoy the Earl. He was really silly and there were plenty of other options for him to protect his brothers friend. I really wanted to love it but it was just ok.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. My opinions are my own.

This was my first read by this author and while the blurb seemed interesting, that’s was why requested it on NetGalley, the book was a let down.

I think I was so disappointed with this book because it really did have potential, the story could’ve been interesting and it was trope heaven but I couldn’t get into it, things were happening and yet, I was so bored.

My main issue with this book was the narration. Now, this might be a me thing but it felt… very surface level. A lot of times, I was left craving for more, I knew what the characters were doing but I had no clue what they were feeling.

Another issue was the fact that I did not feel the chemistry between Finn and Charlotte. It felt a little too rushed and every time either of them expressed their love for each other, all I wanted to say was “is the love you feel in the room with us right now?” But maybe, it is once again due to the narration that was unable to provide a good portrayal of how the characters felt. They never really opened up to each other. I would’ve loved to understand them a little more. Finn’s childhood for example, it plays a big part in the way he is and behaves, but it was just brought up and never explored, or fully developed.

The book wasn’t bad, I was just… well for lack of better word, boring, which is sad because it did have potential.

The beloved “sunshine” of the ton, Miss Charlotte Chapman, is trapped in the carriage with an utter madman. There’s simply no other explanation for it. Why else would the rough, reclusive Earl of Trevelyan—her deceased brother’s most beloved friend—sweep her away during a terrible snowstorm without explanation? All she knows is that his rather boorish behavior somehow involves her pending betrothal…

Trevelyan has a reputation for being something of a beast in society’s circles, but nothing—nothing—will stop him from rescuing Charlotte from her disastrous engagement. He promised his best friend that she and her sister would be looked after. Of course, the earl can only protect her from the blackguard who’s trying to marry her. Protecting her from himself is quite another matter…

Now, thanks to their upended carriage, they’re stranded at a country inn—which has only one room left. And all it takes is one kiss to unlock the simmering desires they’ve never admitted…and a heartbreaking secret that could shatter Charlotte into a million pieces.

Finn, the Earl of Trevelyan has loved Charlotte for a long time. He promised her brother as he lay dying to protect her and sister Celine. When he learns of a proposal from an enemy, Finn takes matters into his own hands and whisks her away in a snow storm. As they learn more about each other, Charlotte discovers the man behind the silence. An exceptional hero and a lady strong enough to love him.
Open bedroom.

Jennifer Haymore is a new author for me and her story of Finn and Charlotte has me hooked. Finn is so tortured by his idea of his self-worth that only the love of a good woman will get him to accept want a wonderful man he is. Charlotte is a great mix of strength and her own suffering. Their love and finally acceptance of each other bring them together and happy in such a fulfilling way. Great story and well told by this author.

This is the first time I'm reading one of Jennifer Haymore's works. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline as a whole, and found myself smiling like a fool at times when reading the interactions between Charlotte and Finn. Theirs was a slow-burn love affair years in the making. After the death of Charlotte's brother, Finn has vowed to protect Charlotte and her younger sister Celine, even if it means abducting Charlotte from marrying the villainous Reginald.

Charlotte is an independent, self sufficient heroine. She has a very likeable personality and a modern point of view for a woman of her era. Charlotte knows exactly what she wants and is not afraid to let those around her know what's on her mind. Her relationship with Finn is enjoyable to see blossom, as he is one to hold back from his feelings while she's not.

There were a few moments when I felt the terminology or word placement felt a little too modern for a historical romance. Finn didn't feel as brooding or as rugged as everyone tirelessly repeated he was throughout the book. He was very much the sweetest and most polite "lout" I have ever read about. Charlotte sometimes felt too modern and too knowledgeable for a virgin of those times, although I assumed it had to do with the kind of relationship Charlotte had with her brother before he died. Reginald was a very cookie-cutter villain until you realize his backstory which I thought was wonderfully explained.

Overall, I enjoyed the storyline, the characters, the adventure they were thrown into in this friends-to-lovers, best friend's sister, unrequited love romance. I hope we get to read about Celine when she is of appropriate age. Although there were a few issues that could have been improved, it only goes to show how much the author did a fine job in reeling me into the characters' lives.

Talk about starting a book with a bang! EARLS RUSH IN is the perfect historical for any romance lover looking for angst and yearning. Full of tropes any booktoker will fall head over heels for, this cozy forced proximity brother's best friend romance is the perfect afternoon read. I finish it in one sitting! Run don't walk!

4 🌟's.

✨ tropes: best friends sister, captor/captive, road trip/inn, snowed in, fake marriage, forced proximity, only one bed, broody hero
🌶 spice: 2.75/5
❌ CW: child abuse, grief, harassment

jennifer haymore is definitely becoming an auto-read author for me now!! 2/2 after the duke's rules of engagement and now this new book!!!! i actually had such a great time reading this story from start to finish (well, maybe not the 3rd act breakup lol🥴) as Haymore's writing is just so fun and engaging. this book is PACKED with some of the most superior romance tropes; snowed in, staying at an inn as fake couple, broody x sunshine-y heroine LIKE it had it all 😭

the hero is super broody lumberjack vibes but with SUCH SOFT PINING for the heroine TEARS SHED. he doesn't believe that he's worthy of love and its just 🥺🥲 i loved how much he loved her 💕

loved this.

This was a nice historical romance with a dual POV. I really liked both the main characters. I did find certain plot points to be a little unnecessary but overall I found the book to be a good, quick read.

Such a good love story! I really enjoyed "Earls Rush In" by Jennifer Haymore. FMC Charlotte must marry to avoid homelessness and destitution for herself and her sister as their aunt and uncle plan to evict them within the next few months. MMC, Finn, Earl of Trevelyan, has been in (secret) love with Charlotte for years. Her late older brother Chris was Finn's best friend and Finn feels responsible for Chris' death and the consequences thereof. Finn learns that one of these consequences is the almost certain engagement of Charlotte to the evil but hiding it Mr. Bagshaw. Finn admittedly loses his mind for a moment and kidnaps Charlotte to ensure the marriage does not happen. A snowstorm leaves them stranded together at an inn with only one room remaining.

Charlotte and Finn are lovely together. They have wonderful chemistry and banter. Finn, however, is plagued by the notion that he is not good enough for Charlotte and tortured by the secrets he continues to keep from her even once they return to London and become engaged. The third act separation is handled well and the ending is lovely. I also loved the secondary characters. I hope to see Ridge's story soon.

4.5 stars rounded to 5. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a complementary ARC of this book. The opinions herein are my own.

Over the past couple of months, Regency era historical romances have just seemed to be my cup of tea, and I would absolutely recommend Earls Rush In by Jennifer Haymore to anyone who feels the same.

As a warning: this book does contain spice, so if that is not your thing, then this isn’t the book for you.

I’m a reader that tends to like painless romances with just a dash of angst and drama, and this is the perfect mixture. There’s some familiar tropes done here, but I would say it’s unique enough to make it memorable.
The writing flows well and is easy for the average reader to understand. The dialogue also fits with the style of the internal monologues of our main characters which works in the story’s favor. There are some liberties taken with the overly proper language that this time period had, and some hints of modern lingo, but I would say it wasn’t enough to pull me out of the story at all.

I felt very engrossed with the characters, and had quite a tough time putting it down. All the plot points felt logical in how they were executed according to both the character actions as well as time period expectations.
Although the settings themselves weren’t described in too much detail, it only encourages readers to focus on the characters. There were several times where I felt frustrated with the characters and their choices, but to me that is a huge plus: the characters made me feel something. And when these conflicts are resolved properly, the ending feels so rewarding.

All in all, I had such a fun time reading this. I rate it a 4/5 stars. Not perfect, but most definitely enjoyable, and possibly something I could pick back up again on a cozy rainy day.

Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this novel and this is my freely given opinion.

Finn, the Earl of Trevelyan is a reclusive peer who is known to be a bit of a coarse, brute of a man. He was raised by his abusive father and taught that he was unlovable and a disappointment, and that everything he loves either leaves or is taken away from him. His own mother left, his various nurses and governesses all left. It was not until he went away to school that he found acceptance with his two best friends, Chris and Ridge. Except a year ago, he lost his friend Chris as well, and carries a great weight of guilt over that... and a promise he made to his dying friend to help care for his two sisters.

Finn has always adored Charlotte Chapman, the eldest sister of Chris, from afar. She is beautiful, and full of sunshine, adored in Society. That was until the death of her brother Chris Chapman. When her uncle and aunt inherit the barony, she and her younger sister are suddenly their contemptable impoverished dependents. Charlotte and Celine are on a timeline, about to be evicted from their only known homes on the upcoming anniversary of her beloved brother's death. Because of this, she has to give up her hopes of a love match to gain security for the two of them. She accepts the proposal of what she presumes is an acceptable gentleman, Reginald Bagshawe.

When Finn finds out who Charlotte has become betrothed to, he is forced to act, as Bagshawe is someone he knows Chris was against. But he is rash and rather than speak to Charlotte about his concerns about her betrothed, he kidnaps her and they become trapped for days in a crowded, run down inn, in a blizzard. Charlotte, and Finn masquerade as a married couple, to save her reputation, and because Charlotte is willing to give Finn a chance to explain himself, as he was her beloved brother's best friend. She also comes to realize that his gruff, rough exterior hides a gentle, tenderhearted, generous man. Rather than a brute kidnapping her, he really was acting the role of the knight and riding in to save her... and of course she grows to love him.

But Finn has a great deal of difficulty believing he is worthy of love, let alone Charlotte's love, considering how high a pedestal he places her on, and also he carries a lot of guilt, especially in his role in her brother's death, which is part of the secrets he hides from Charlotte. Unfortunately, his secrets end up coming out in the open, and risks losing Charlotte's love just when it is within his grasp.

This was a charming story with a bit of a beauty and the beast theme, and love from afar. I liked Finn and his brooding, guilt ridden angst, and how he felt he was unworthy of love, but was really hiding a man who not only craved it, but was loved, but so unaware of it. I am a sucker for strays and he sounds like a stray, beaten dog that I would have just wanted to give a warm, loving home to. I quite liked the secondary characters of the Navarros and their charming run down inn, and they add a bit of diversity to the story.

I really enjoyed this story and the main characters, Charlotte and Finn, were very likeable. There were secrets that Finn hadn’t told Charlotte about the past but the reason that held him back was understandable. Finn did have difficulty in expressing himself and that too, lies in his childhood experiences. Charlotte was in a difficult situation and I wish there had been some comeuppance for her relations. There is someone who is out to cause serious mischief. Charlotte and Finn have a special connection but will these secrets make a difference. There are some steamy passages and some very interesting secondary characters, especially Finn’s friend. This story moved along at a good pace and was very entertaining. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it l all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is my second book by Haymore and I have to say that I'm a fan. When I first read the premise for this, I knew immediately that I had to read this. It was just what I was in the mood for! It's soft, full of wholesome character interactions, and a cozy inn.

The part where I thought that this wasn't as strong was the actual conflict. It was frustrating when Finn would not fully communicate his thoughts, feelings, and his part in the larger conflict. I'm also disappointed with the lack of closure around Charlotte's Aunt and Uncle.

Overall, if you're picking this up for the vibes, I highly recommend it!

Jennifer Haymore is a USA Today bestselling author of sexy historical and contemporary romance. You can find Jennifer in Southern California trying to talk her husband into yet another trip to England, helping her three children with homework while brainstorming a new five-minute dinner menu, or crouched in a corner of the local bookstore writing her next novel.

“You are everything I’ve ever wanted.”

After the sudden death of her brother, Charlotte is desperate to find security for her and her sister, Celine. Even if that means agreeing to marry a man she doesn’t love. Finn is an unconventional earl who isn’t afraid to work with the people. He doesn’t dress in fancy clothes, and he’s considered a recluse. Love is the last thing on his mind.

This was an easy read. I enjoyed how the story flowed, and I was drawn to the characters. I liked Finn right away; he was a classic good guy. Brooding and a tad rough around the edges, with shadows in his past. Delicious!

Charlotte was sweet. She had a charm to her that was innocent, but she was also very smart. I found her loyalty to be lovely. I enjoyed the chemistry between Charlotte and Finn and found their romance sweet.

This storyline moves fast, which keeps me engaged. I enjoyed the descriptions and the side characters as well. This is the perfect steamy read!

Earls Rush In. Oh what. Toasty love tale this is. Finn and Charlotte a has now become one of my favorite romance couple. This couple has absolutely convinced me that it’s not so bad to tucked away in the snowy mountains with the person whom you dream about each night. I totally respect Finn for being a gentleman, but come on Charlotte was begging for him to ravish her.
Did Finn lose his marbles for a few nights there? What’s up? I know. I know. He was trying so hard to be that perfect gentleman for Charlotte.
I thought that the time that Finn and Charlotte spent together was the entertaining part of the story. Here is where the writer shared the true emotions of the two, (Charlotte and Finn) the emotions that I thought Finn was beating himself up about. The is an easy read. I zipped through the book and hummed a happy tune to this charming love story. My favorite character is Miranda.
She’s like the mom of all mom’s through her cooking and words of knowledge. The plot to the story I thought was appropriate for Finn and Miranda. The details to the story is a perfect motivational goal for Finn to act on. I give this story two snaps and a twist. Until next time my fellow readers… read on!

The book started really well, and I was immediately drawn into the story. Both main characters seemed exciting and well-developed. For the most part, that's true. But sometimes I wondered if Charlotte was unnecessarily stubborn and Finn irrationally over-protective. Still, I enjoyed it and thought other historical romance fans would also. Snowstorms and fake relationships are well-loved tropes. If you enjoy them, it's definitely your cup of tea.
Someone finally proposed to Charlotte and it might not be the love match she expected, but it would do. After all, she doesn't have much of a choice. But when Finn, the Earl of Trevelyan, learns about it, his reaction is to kidnap her just to dissuade her from marrying the wrong guy. What happens next is something neither could have imagined.
The more they get to know each other, the more they fall in love. Once the snow melts, the reality will come back rushing. And they might regret their decisions. Or maybe the future has something else in store for them.
Overall, it's a good read. My only complaint is that it was a bit slow in the middle. But the way it started and ended, is just perfect. If medium-paced isn't a deal breaker for you, then do check it out. And I hope you love it even more than me.
