Love Cody, loved this book. Cody is my favorite Peloton instructor, so this review is completely biased. But this was a fun, quick, easy read. I loved seeing a little BTS of the Peloton world and learning more about one of my favorite people!

This book was amazing from the first word. Cody's bright personality captures you from the first sentence. His memoir is inspiring and captivating. It takes readers on a journey of self-discovery, triumph, and pushing through obstacles. The energy he brings to each page is the same energy he brings to the bike, infectious. His personal experiences are relatable and empowering.

This is such a fun book to read! I am a Cody fan, that's for sure. My husband thinks his rides are the hardest, but I disagree, because although he'll push you physically, he is such a good story teller.

This collection of essays read like an advice column, and I really enjoyed it.

It's such a funny read, and I also had the pleasure of listening to the audio, too, as I followed along with the ebook.

10/10 recommend. Thank you!

Thank you to PRHAudio, Ballantine Books, and Netgalley for the ebook and ALC copies!⁣

I don’t really “review” memoirs/essay collections, but I will say that I really enjoyed this, especially as an audiobook because it’s narrated by Cody himself.⁣

If you aren’t familiar with the Peloton instructors, you might not see the appeal of this one, but for those of us fully immersed in the Peloton cult, it’s super fun to see our favorite instructors getting book deals and sharing their experiences and stories. Cody shares a lot on the bike, and this felt like just a long ride on the bike, in a good way.⁣

Cody is hilarious and shares advice about relationships of all sorts in this book.⁣

Super fun and bingeable read!

I've been an on/off Peloton user since 2016 and Cody is always my first choice of instructor because his music taste aligns with mine. Anyone who has taken his rides will love this book as an opportunity to get to know Cody a little more than what he shares on his rides - and he shares plenty! He takes us behind the scenes on caring for his mom and the dynamics that shaped his relationship with her. Hearing his take on DWTS, how hard it was for him and that he wanted to quit reminds that we all can push through and find the joy in opportunities! The book is great but him reading the audiobook is even better!

Spoiler alert: I’m not a part of the Peleton cult! However, I absolutely loved that Cody is authentically himself and vulnerable enough to share his journey this far. He will keep your laughing while sharing his wisdom. Thank You Net Galley for an e-book in exchange for my honest review.

A fun and real look into the life of our beloved Peloton guru, Cody Rigsby. The wit and sass you’re used to hearing, shine through in his writing. It was interesting to hear more about his childhood and relationship with his addict mother, growth within Peloton, adventures as a gay man in NYC, and time on Dancing with the Stars.

I respected his frank honesty. He calls things and people out unapologetically, and it’s mostly refreshing, but there are times he crosses into “judgy” territory. It’s one thing to have a strong opinion, but to criticize people doing the opposite came off as an ick to me.

The nod to his “XOXO Cody” segments, where he answers fan questions and gives his hot-takes on things, was creative. Including that in the book was a great tie-in, but I wish there was more consistency. Some chapters had them, some didn’t, some were relevant to the chapters topic, some were random… it was a bit of a missed opportunity for me.

Overall, it was entertaining. Cody has a tactful pettiness that really resonates with his fans, and I’m sure they’ll appreciate his personality coming through in the writing. For me, it was fun and cute, but felt jumbled at times, and honestly, I thought he was trying a little too hard to be clever and overwritten.

If you are a fan of Cody Rigsby's peloton rides, you will abosolutely love this book.

It is hilarious, it is insightful ,its full of good advice with a fun twist that we are used to hearing from him on the bike.
I loved that he used his life lessons with his mom, poverty, dancer life and even the pandemic to tell the story of growth and who he is today. Im sure he left so much out but this was a great read that i heard in his voice the entire time.

LOVE IT

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

I literally couldn’t put this book down from the moment I picked it up. One of my absolute favorite peloton instructors. Was so entertaining to learn about their journey. Highly recommend. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

My Peloton self was so excited to get to read this one! Cody can turn anyone's bad mood into a good one and this book had the perfect mix of heartfelt and humor.

I think the biggest thing that I was surprised by was his childhood and growing up. Learning about his mom and the stuff he went through to get where he is today is just amazing. It just makes me like him even more.

I liked that there were some really serious chapters like his childhood, moving, Oscar, etc., and then the next chapter would be something totally not serious like him ranking snacks he ate as a child or Q&A's.

Overall, highly entertaining and although I had the ebook version, I could hear him reading every word in this book :)

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC for XOXO, Cody by Cody Rigsby.

This is a MUST read. Cody is hilarious, raw, and gives some insightful advice. I have been a fan of his from Peloton and Dancing with the Stars, and this book just solidifies my thoughts about him. I have learned a lot about his life and things he has had to overcome to get to where he is now, and I admire his strength! Even if you have not heard of Cody Rigsby before, this would be a great, entertaining read.

Cody is no stranger to tough times and he dives pretty deep into his past in this book. Nothing is off limits as he gets into the nitty gritty of it all. Despite everything thought he has continued to live unapologetically and with such optimism. He has remained true to himself and to the people he loves while at the same time soaring above and beyond his own expectations and goals of what he wants to achieve. Talk about motivation!

This book is packed with relationship advice, funny stories and plenty of self care tips. I literally was laughing out loud at the dedication page (I mean what 90s kid doesn’t owe it all to our savior Miss Britney Jean Spears ) and did not stop laughing until I finished the book. So if you need your own hype baddie, a little extra motivation to keep going or just want a damn good book to read, pick up your copy and blast some Britney as you enjoy this one!

Thank you Random House Ballantine for the copy of this book and to Cody for making me always feel like a badass! Keep slaying Boo!

This was a great book. I felt his personality come through and liked how the topics were divvied out. I did wish it was done more chronologically but I do understand why he did it this way. I liked the end of chapter notes too. There was so really great lessons and truths in this book!

Reading this book was pure joy! It was like having Cody sitting right with me in my living room. Learning about how he grew up and the circumstances that led to the fame he has today, I have nothing but respect for the man.
I love how he was 100% himself and shared more about his background. I had no idea about the struggles he went through growing up. I'm counting down until the next XOXO ride. Bye, boo!

When I saw my favorite Peloton instructor coming out with a book, I HAD to snag it! The full title is the perfect description of everything to expect. You’ll get more classic Cody hot takes, but he also touches on more serious topics relating to his childhood traumas that are mixed with bouts of comedic relief. Humor aside, I think Cody shares some great life coachy advice about self love, romance and chosen family. My 3 favorite take aways were:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤️Date yourself first
❤️Just say thank you and accept the compliment
❤️You didn’t survive a pandemic to fake an orgasm🤣

Like many others, my Peloton helped get me through the pandemic and Cody Rigsby was a light during some of the darkest days.

This book contained all of the humor and joy you'll find in a Cody ride, but so much more. Sure, we have the hilarious hot takes similar to what we would get on the bike, but this book was incredibly heartfelt and I loved getting to know more of Boo's backstory, flaws and all. This book had me laughing - Cody's life is truly full of so many WTF moments, including one involving a former roommate who set his clothes on fire when Cody called him out for having a crush on him. WTF!

As much as this book had me laughing, I also teared up a few times. Any member of Boo Crew knows Cindy, Cody's mother, but you may not know the whole story. In XOXO, Cody, we learn about Cindy's bipolar disorder and recovery as a former addict. Cody also shares some of the most difficult moments of his life and how he was able to work towards loving himself with therapy and meditation. While I read this book it felt like I was having a long conversation with a good friend.

Thank you to NetGalley and Ballantine for a review copy.

The summary I read about this book captured it perfectly: "The beloved Peloton instructor chronicles his journeys from small-town North Carolina to New York City stardom in an empowering story that reveals his secret to success: not taking yourself - or life - too seriously." This book is hilarous, honest, raw, and uplifting. I am not a huge person for self help books, which this isn't completely, but I do find myself inspired after reading it. This book will not be for everyone, but the people it is for - it's REALLY for. I emplore you to listen to Cody read this on audiobook - it brings so much to the experience.

Full confession: I have been a Peloton fan for quite a long time and honestly feel like working out with Cody has helped save my mental health through numerous tough times. So, needless to say, I was looking forward to reading this book, and was even more pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

This book really succeeds when it leans more into memoir over self-help guide. I really appreciated how candid and honest Cody was about the struggles he faced growing up, how he navigates a challenging but loving relationship with his mother, and even how he's tried to figure out how to deal with and take advantage of his platform and the moderate level of fame he's achieved. It does feel corny, but I did honestly take some real lessons from this book that will probably stick with me. It was also just genuinely nice to learn more about this person whom I have spent the better part of over five years taking workout classes from someone. Additionally, the book is just a funny and entertaining read.

Thanks so much to NetGalley and Ballantine Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
