Fashion designer Libby Carter has just landed her dream job in New York when her brother asks her, at the last minute, to step in to help to organise an important wedding at Starcross Manor. With her flair for design Libby faces the challenges of organising this wedding only to meet the most belligerent couple imaginable whose ideas for their wedding are rather unusual. Libby finds an ally in videographer Guy Hart and as the wedding plans get underway so does the attraction between Libby and Guy.
What then follows is a story filled with warmth and friendship and with a generous sprinkling of Christmas magic A Winter Wedding at Starcross Manor is a delight to read from start to finish. The wonderful community around Starcross Manor really pull together to make this wedding a success but there are pitfalls along the way and all does not go smoothly. I love how the author weaves all the magic together and with a delightful twist this really is a story filled with the warmth of Christmas magic.
Set in the idyllic Heartcross this unashamedly romantic story is now the twelfth book in the successful Love Heart Lane series of rom-com novels and whilst some of the characters may overlap it is entirely possible to read A Winter Wedding at Starcross Manor without having read any of the previous stories however, this is such a wonderful series that it really is a delight to read the each of the books in order.
I love reading Christie Barlow books and this one did not disappoint! This is a warm, cozy, feel-good Christmas read that you will want to cuddle up with this winter. I loved the charming characters; especially the flirty moments between Guy and Libby. Their romance was so cute and filled with the perfect romantic moments. I also enjoyed people and places from other books in the series being mentioned in the story. It made the series feel connected even though each story has different main characters. I would highly recommend reading this book!
Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins UK, and One More Chapter for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed this book a lot. It was fun and cozy.
Love coming back to Heartcross. A great read as always with some new characters and old friends. Will Libby find love or will you find happiness in her new job in New York? Called in to help her brother out during the festive season, she happens across a scam and love. Must read
I loved this book! Even though it is part of a series, I didn’t feel lost not having read any of the others that come before. The author did a great job of including enough details about the characters backstory, while also adding new information. I loved the seasonal romance and the Hallmark feel to the book.
Stunning, what a fantastic magical, sparkly book this was.
Full of festive cheer we take a trip back to Starcross Manor and for Flynn his Christmas Wedding competition has hit a bump in the road when his wedding planner resigns.
When his girlfriend Julia suggests he asks his sister Libby to become the wedding planner until the wedding competition is over everyone’s lives are changed for the better.
Then Guy arrives to take a video of the wedding progress Libby starts to feel like life is going to get better.
Another five star read from Christie Barlow can’t wait for the next one.
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
My heart is in this book. Its so well written and fast paced. I liked the descriptions of the winter wonderland that Barlow described. She did such an amazing job. I will be definitely checking out other books by this author. This might be my favourite Christmas book for this season!!
Christie Barlow's A Winter Wedding at Starcross Manor packs in everything great about the winter season. The weather outside might be filled with snow and ice, but these pages radiate pure joy. Since fashion designer Libby Carter has been tasked with planning the perfect Christmastime wedding for a pair of contest winners, it's the exact feeling you want from this kind of romance. It's no surprise then that, as she works alongside the handsome videographer Guy Hart, wedding bells might be in the near future for more than just the winning couple.
Of course, things can never run too smoothly, and Barlow has no problem adding in a hint of mayhem amid the festivities. As Libby spends her days dress designing, present planning, and even ice skating, a subtle mystery develops that ultimately keeps the book from becoming overly saccharine. Not everything is perfect at Starcross Manor. It's a welcome distraction that helps give a little tension to a book that's mostly a slow-building relationship between two lovely people.
This is Barlow's twelfth entry in the Love Heart Lane series and, in the best ways, it feels like it. A Winter Wedding at Starcross Manor doesn't fall into the traps a long-running series usually does: the story doesn't feel thin nor does Barlow spend excessive amounts of time trying to catch readers up on the lives of characters from the previous eleven books. Instead, it works completely as a standalone novel with a tight plot, fun characters, and a heartwarming romance.
Much like the best weddings, it's a beautiful celebration.
Libby Carter arrives at Starcross manor because she’s agreed to become the temporary wedding planner at the manor. The owners are planning to stage the wedding of the year for winners of their competition. Libby is not planning on any romance herself but the setting the time of year and a few other factors come into play.
Photographer Guy Hart has been persuaded to make the wedding video even though it’s not his usual business. He’s got a few family problem of his own. Libby discovers she has a lot in common with Guy but the path of true love is ever strewn with boulders.
The outcome is never in doubt but this is another book in the Loveheart Lane Series and it doesn't disappoint. The manor and the season approaching Christmas make a magnificent backdrop to another will they won’t they romance. It is such a delight and a heart warming plot that manages to cover comtemporay issues with a light hand. This is a fine addition and I’d like to book a stay now
I don't have the words to describe about fabulous this book really is.
It's just Christie Barlow and Heartcross at their very best, and easily one of my favourite books of this always amazing series.
It's full of winter wedding vibes, and Libby is a fabulous new character, and it's good to see and get to know Guy some more.
There are all sorts of shenanigans going on, and nothing runs particularly smoothly. I love Libby's reaction to the colour scheme the competition winning bride and groom want for their big winter wedding. To say it's unusual would be an understatement.
I did guess some of what was going on, but had to keep reading to see if I would be correct or not.
And catching up with all of my favourite Love Heart Lane characters is always a joy, especially when we get to see the continuation of one of their stories specifically.
It was a joy to read, and I whizzed through the pages which left me with warmth in my heart and a giant grin on my face.
I love this series so much, and wish that it wasn't starting to come to an end.
Thank you to One More Chapter and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
I will never stop recommending the Love Heart Lane series – if you haven’t read any of them please do, each can be read as standalone books but they are so good it’d be a shame for you to miss out. This is book 12 in the series and it doesn't disappoint(they never do)!
Starcross Manor is run by Fergus and fiance Julie. His sister, Libby, who is one of the main characters of this story, is soon heading off to New York but stays to help organise a wedding at the manor. Guy is a wildlife photographer and filmmaker, owes Fergus a favour but needs a break from his own life and problems. When their worlds collide, can they protect themselves from inevitable hurt, both are on very different paths and have such complicated lives.
I adored their chemistry, sizzling and I loved catching up with old favourite characters who all play a very important role in each book.
Another wonderfully written story set in an amazing community. Full of warmth and romance but with added suspicion and drama!
Love love love.
When Starcross Manor loses it's wedding planner, just before organising the competition winners dream wedding, Flynn has to persuade his sister Libby to help him out.
I loved the initial meeting with the winners and the horror in their thoughts!
A wonderful return to Love Heart Lane with all the familiar characters. It's like a festive holiday with friends- with the promise of a Christmas wedding at the end. What could be better?
I loved the lodges, the studio, the romance and the wedding details against the backdrop I've come to love.
Another wonderful winner from Christie Barlow
I have loved every instalment of this series, and this one did not disappoint. Helping out her brother leads to love for Libby and Guy., it draws you in from the beginning.
This book is part of the Love Hear Lane series, book number 12 I believe. It is the first book from the series I have read but if the rest are anything like this then they are likely amazing as well. As someone who has not read any of the other books, reading this as a stand alone is perfectly fine! I am sure having other characters past only improves the already beautifully written story.
Starcross Manor is a wonderful-sounding hotel in the Scottish Highlands, a snowy wonderland where the owners Fergus and Julie, create the picture perfect wedding retreat with the help of their staff, volunteers and family. Libby, Fergus' sister and wedding planner for the big event (but professional fashion designer for work), meets grumpy Guy, the videographer who doesn't want to be there. Together they go on a love journey, along with an adorable little puppy who crashes right into your heart like he did the hot tub Libby was using that first night.
As I have said many times, I am a sucker for a Christmas romance book. This book was one that I actually won a free copy of from HarperCollins UK and was sent a physical copy in the mail. I love the opportunities and engagement that HarperCollins UK has with their readers.
I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and One More Chapter and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you HarperCollins UK and Christie Barlow for the arc.
Fashion designer Libby Carter takes on the challenge of planning a unique winter wonderland wedding at Starcross Manor when her brother faces a dilemma. When things start to go awry, she enlists the help of the handsome videographer Guy Hart, even though weddings are not his usual gig and he's not a fan of them. The sparks fly between Libby and Guy, and their collaboration leads to an unforgettable kiss under the mistletoe. The novel weaves a delightful tale of romance, holiday magic, and unexpected connections, proving that sometimes saying yes to the unexpected can lead to the most enchanting surprises.
I enjoyed this one very much. A very sweet and relaxing read, perfect for curling up in the afternoon. I do enjoy Christie's books and this one was another winner. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
A lovely coy romance to cuddle up to on a cold day. Make sure you have a nice hot cuppa with you too. I'm not much of a romance reader but I do love a good story that is warm and fuzzy, has a bit of substance and is easy to read.
And this book is all that and more. It is fun, entertaining, heart-warming, romantic and has some great characters. Oh and Christmas... Who doesn't love Christmas. An all round good book to read.
Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
Starcross Manor is running a competition for an all expenses wedding to launch themselves into the lucrative wedding business. Unexpectedly though the wedding planner they employed left with no warning and the winning couple were due to arrive. Not knowing what to do Julia, Flynn’s fiancée suggests they ask his sister Libby if she can help before she flies off to America to start her new job as a fashion designer
After agreeing to help Libby gets started but things don’t work out as as is expecting with the winning couple especially when the bride asks for her dress to be plain and black and that is just the start
Will things get better or will it be a complete disaster?
I really enjoyed it
This book gave off warm fuzzy vibes from the very beginning and I needed it! I simply adore Christie Barlow and I look forward to reading any book she puts out. They are always a 5 star read for me and this one was no exception. I loved Libby and Guy's store. One of the best holiday Rom-Coms I've read so far this year.
I just reviewed A Winter Wedding at Starcross Manor by Christie Barlow. #NetGalley

Here I am at book twelve in this series, and I know I must sound like a stuck record to the people who read my reviews, but I really do envy anyone who can start the whole series from the beginning and discover the wonderful residents of Heartcross.
Libby is spending one last Christmas with her brother, Flynn at Starcross Manor, before she moves to New York to work in the fashion industry. So having packed up her home, she is staying in one of the lovely lodges and just relaxing before the big day and the big move.
However her brother has an ulterior motive as well, could she stand in for the wedding planner that has resigned with no notice for one of the biggest weddings of the year to put Starcross on the map. This wedding seems odd, the prospective bride and groom are not behaving as Libby would have expected. Something just feels wrong and when things start to happen, it seems that Libby is embroiled in the problems.
Guy is a videographer, been called in to film the wedding for Starcross promotion and finds himself not only working with Libby, but living next to her too. Guy is not a fan of weddings at all, and is reluctant to throw himself in wholeheartedly to the project but there is something about Libby he cannot resist. And when his little girl also develops and attachment to Libby it seems his plan of avoiding romance and weddings is not going to be this years Christmas wish!
Will the wedding go to plan or will there have to be some last minute changes? Of course Heartcross will embrace all the changes and help in that community minded way that makes Libby wonder why she is leaving it all behind to go to New York?
The author does it again, with likeable and some disagreeable characters that makes the perfect Christmas tale, with added sparkles, laughs and mistletoe!
Perfect for all fans of feel good fiction – Christie Barlow does it in buckets!
