Saving the Good News Gazette is the second book in a series. I enjoyed the first book, The Good News Gazette.
I was nice to be back with Zoe to see how things were going with her. Sadly, she has a huge mess in her future when the biggest advertising account she has cancels their contract with her. She knows there has to be a way to find other businesses to advertise in the Gazette. She thinks she has found the solution when she turns to developer Daniel Lewis to help her accomplish this. But the trade off is she has to help him save Art Deco cinemas from being destroyed.
This plan is not one her boyfriend Sam is too keen on her doing.
Thank you NetGalley, Jessie Wells and One More Chapter for the ARC of Saving the Good News Gazette. This is my personal review.

First thing to note is that this is second in a series. I didn’t know this and it didn’t hamper my enjoyment at all.
I found this an enjoyable weekend read with likeable characters (I especially liked the female best friends stories) and a feel good plot. Only frustration was the ending but hopefully this means there’s a book 3 on its way soon!

Saving the Good News Gazette is the sequel to the Good News Gazette. I would read The Good News Gazette first to ensure you know the story and characters.
I enjoyed reading about the Westholme community again and I liked the continued development between Zoe and Daniel. I didn’t always like that Zoe kept running away from her problems but I also understand that is necessary for her growth. There were a lot of plot points in the novel and I wasn’t sure how Jessie Wells would address them all, but she did. The ending was not what I wanted, but the cliff-hanger leaves me hopeful that there will be another book in the series.
Saving the Good News Gazette is humorous with a little depth, making it a great feel-good read.

Thank you to NetGalley and One More Chapter for this ARC in exchange for a honest review.

I have to be totally honest, this book was a bit of a slow read for me. I found the main character to be a bit shallow in character. After starting to read this book, I realized this was as probably a second in a series. However I didn’t have the desire to go back and read the first in the series.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Jesse Wells for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my review.

I hadn’t read Jessie Wells first novel, however that didn’t detract from Saving the Good News Gazette. It’s a novel with a real sense of community spirit as the residents of Westholme campaign to save the local art deco cinema from destruction. It’s a great story line with some lovely characters and an ending that promises a third novel. Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins UK, One More Chapter and the author for the chance to review.

A light enjoyable read with a good amount of humour as we revisit Westholme and the local newspaper run by Zoe. This is the second in the series but it would certainly stand on it's own. I found myself warming more to the main character, Zoe, than I did in the main book although she does have her fair share of misunderstandings along the way mixed with impetuousness. It was a light uplifting read with a good sense of togetherness plus random community Facebook messages at the end of each chapter which are quite tongue in cheek and typical of local Facebook pages . I loved the community meetings too so typical of the mix of characters one comes across when trying to organise anything The biggest downside was the book left the reader somewhat up in the air at the end but then it made me want to read the next book.

Know that this is a followup for Zoe's story- and it should be enjoyable as a standalone, Zoe and her son Charlie I've in Westholme, where she supports them with a newspaper that only publishes good news (I wish we had one of those) , Unfortunately, like other print papers, she's losing advertisers, And then she ropes in Daniel, a developer she's helped in the past and they make a deal- if she assists him in saving a theater, he'll find her advertisers, Yes, there's a little romance here but....what about Sam? No spoilers from me, Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Looking forward to the next part of the story.

I did enjoy the book as well as the main characters but honestly the story didn't get to where I wanted and I really needed to force myself to read it.

This was a cute book. I didn't know this was a part of a series. As a result, it was a little difficult to follow the plot when the first book was mentioned. However I kept reading and I was able to enjoy the book. Overall a good read.

Saving the Good news Gazette is the second book in the series by author Jessie Wells.
We are back in WestHolme, where Zoe Taylor is still working for the Good News newspaper when one of their big advertisers cancel their contract leaving the future of the newspaper in jeopardy. What will she do?
But luck would have it, her old boss contacts her to see if she will head a new magazine in London. She is confused. Could she leave WestHolme and everyone she loves?
In the meantime, she, has has been roped in to save the local cinema that is destined to be demolished. In exchange for her help. Local businessman Daniel will help her get advertisers for the newspaper.
This is another heartwarming, funny, but also emotional read from the author in the second book in the series. I loved yet again meeting all the well-developed characters from the first book and meeting news ones. The only downside of this lovely story. I don’t know if its just me but, I found this quite long and then the story was left in a cliff hanger. I wasn’t expecting that at all. I will look forward to the next book.

Yayyyy and we are back with Zoe and the gang for book 2 in the ‘Good News Gazette’ series and this time we join them as the Gazette is in a bit of financial difficulty……..just as Zoe takes on saving the now defunct local Cinema…
This book ( and Book 1 ) should be prescribed to anyone who is feeling down or having a reading slump as it is just impossible to read and not enjoy and be uplifted….it’s very funny and emotion ringing and joyful and makes you feel good,it really does make you feel positive, all helped of course that it is so well written,so engaging,so fresh and yummmy and it has cakes in it and a bit of romance and a cast of characters you couldn’t wish for if tried…..enough to convince you? Honestly its a fabulous read and worth every second of your reading time,a book and series that comes with no fancy gimmicks just powerful stories, superb

Continuing the story from the first book Zoe is beginning to struggle with keeping the Good News Gazette going with advertisers gradually pulling out. She talks to property developer Daniel, with whom she worked with saving the shopping precinct, who offers to help her - as long as she works with him on saving the local run-down cinema.
Another slow-burner giving a realistic view of life, but with some wonderful characters to help it becoming too negative. It must be difficult to have a newspaper with only good news in it nowadays, however the support that she gets from the local community is encouraging. There is the romance element between Zoe and Sam, but she also is feelings for Daniel that she is fighting. The only real downside is that it ends on a cliffhanger, but this does mean that I can't wait for the next one.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influenced my review of the book.

I read and enjoyed the first book in this series, so I was happy to receive an advanced digital copy of Saving the Good News Gazette from the publisher to read and review. All opinions are my own.

Zoe is the owner of The Good News Gazette, a good news only newspaper. She lives with her son, Charlie, in Westholme, a town full of sweet, sincere, quirky characters. When she finds the paper in trouble, she reluctantly teams up with Daniel, a developer and one time nemesis, to reopen the old cinema.

While I liked the first book, I liked the follow-up even better. I was already familiar with the characters and it was fun getting to know them on a deeper level watching them evolve throughout this book. The storyline kept me interested and I felt for Zoe as she struggled through her ups and downs. The tension between Zoe and Daniel is written perfectly in my opinion. Will they/won't they? I couldn't wait to find out!

While the romance part was fun, I really enjoy all of the other relationships Zoe has with her family and friends. The relationship she struggles with the most is the one she has with herself, and it had me both cheering for her and getting annoyed with her. I had a hard time with all of the weight loss and appearance focus, but is is part of her story arc, so I learned to deal with it. I kept thinking that for someone so kind, educated, loved, and successful (overall), she really needs a self confidence boost! I like that she always had what was best for Charlie at the forefront in all her decision-making.

I really got into this story as I read on. I loved the humorous community Facebook posts at the end of each chapter. This book is a fun ride with a giant cliff-hanger for an ending. (Still working on getting over that!). I will definitely read the next book!

Love this series anyway and this next stage did not let it down. You are on the journey with Zoe through thick and thin and feel her emotions as this story progresses.

Leaves you on a massive cliff-hanger so now I can't wait for the next one!!

It took me a while to get in to this one, it just didn’t flow as easily as book 1, it felt rather forced.

Once I finally got a rhythm going, it was a nice read. I enjoyed the tender moments between Zoe, Emma and Beth and, while utterly predictable, I liked the growing relationship with Daniel.

This was rated down from 4 stars to 3 as there was no indication or warning that this was going to be a to-be-continued ending, which was hugely disappointing!

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.

3.5 stars rounded up! this book was beautifully done. i hadn't known this was a series when i requested saving the good news gazette on netgalley, but i am so happy it gave me the opportunity to be introduced to this little world.

i really enjoyed the continuation and consistency of the characters, such as starr and other town residents. i think this books main focus is community and i find that so important!!!

seeing how strong zoe continues to be in this novel was just something so powerful and special to me. being a single mom is already hard enough, but to be struggling with your job and not knowing what the future holds? it's hard asking for help when you need it and i think zoe addresses that well.

i think it was important for zoe to go through her relationship with sam. just because they loved each other doesn't mean their relationship would last and work. they didn't have that spark. seeing that spark with daniel just made me so happy. although she keeps going against him before she knows the full story, i think that's a way of protecting herself because she knows she has feelings for him. i'm really curious to see where this cliffhanger leads to !!!

thank you netgalley for providing me with an arc <3

Continues the story from book 1. Can the Gazette continue in business?
Great to see that the shops became successful. Sadly I didn’t feel as invested in the story this time.
3.5 stars

I didn’t know this was a sequel and it isn’t really marketed as one, so there were some things I didn’t understand and references to the first book that made it confusing. Once I got into the story though it was really cute!

It wasn’t my favorite thing ever but I enjoyed the characters and the storyline well enough.

This is a five-star read that would definitely be worth saving, much like the good news gazette. Your heart goes out for Zoe in most of the story, and mine was in my throat at that ending!! This story will warm even the coldest of hearts. I really enjoyed reading The Good News Gazette, and this one grew and developed the story, allowing us to see just how far some of the characters have come, some so far, they warm your cockles and bring a happy tear to your eye. I liked the path the story took for most of it, there were a couple of moments that really pushed me, but they were done well, so you know it’s for the best. If you are looking for something to inspire you, or get you motivated, or even just something to sink into, this is what you are looking for.
