This is an adorable cozy mystery. It reminded me of a Hallmark movie, easy/quick read with fun stereotypical characters but a feel good read. The couple was cute but a bit instalovely for me. Logan's grumpiness made the book
3.5 stars
This was such a cute cozy autumn-please-get-here read. I loved all the autumnal vibes throughout, and the romance was sweet and fun.
I really enjoyed it. Read if you like autumn vibes, cozy romances and Stars Hollow.
My thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.
The Pumpkin Spice Cafe is a small town cozy romance by Laurie Gilmore.Jeanie is new to Dream Harbor and taking over the Pumpkin Spice Cafe after her Aunt Dot leaves it to her and goes off to travel the world. It’s just the change that Jeanie needs after finding the boss of her high-level stress job dead in his office one morning. But Logan wants to stay as far away from Jeanie, and the town, which is hard to do when you grew up there and everyone knows you. After Jeanie almost takes Logan out when she catches him delivering produce to the cafe they seem to be thrown together every chance the town gets. This book definitely has a very Hallmark feel. The characters were fun and they both have had some trauma in their life that they have had to overcome. I am also a big fan of a happily ever after. Overall this was a very cute book that is perfect for a light fall vibes read!
This was the cozy fall romance that we all needed!!! There’s a bit of mystery mixed it too, it’s an excellent genre bender.
This was definitely a fun read. Loved the title of the book! I really enjoyed the characters and it was fun to see them be aware of their feelings for the other but not say anything or do anything about it. The pacing was good and the overall plot was fun. I loved the small town everyone knows everything vibes. For a fall inspired book title, I would’ve expected more fall / Halloween vibes but it didn’t really come across much in the book. Overall, definitely would recommend the book to others.
This book was such a warm, cozy read. The Pumpkin Spice Café had me ready for fall- if you enjoyed Gilmore Girls, this definitely has the vibes of Stars Hollow.
It's a sickly sweet romantic mystery with a happily ever after. Be warned there is spice and it's steamy. For me, it felt out of place just because the rest of the book was so wholesome.
I enjoyed the dual POVs, the small town setting and just the overall fall feeling.
I would recommend to anyone looking for an easy romance for their fall TBR.
A comfortable read that just screams fall with every chapter you read. It definitely reads as an episode of Gilmore Girls, which only adds to the ambience!
I loved the characters, the writing and the romance (although the smut didn't always feel natural in the story? Like it was a bit forced...) regardless, the book made me all kinds of excited for fall!
Although a quick enjoyable read this wasn’t exactly my cup of tea. I did love the characters the fall feel and the setting but the relationship between Jeannie and the Lumberjack was too quick and spicy for my taste.
I did love the fall feel I got from it and it definitely put me in the mood for another visit to Stars Hallow and some cuddled up on the couch tv watching with some cocoa. It was like reading a book and feeling comforted by your favorite flannel T-shirt.
Thank you to Netgalley, Harper Collins UK, and One more chapter for this gifted copy in exchange for my honest review.
In The Pumpkin Spice Cafe we follow Jeanie, she's left her job in the city after finding her boss dead at his desk. Deciding this isn't the fate she wants for herself opts for a less strssful life and takes up her Aunts offer of running her Cafe in Dream Harbour.
This book has all the Autumnal vibes and is the perfect cosy grumpy/sunshine read. I adored reading about Dream Harbour and its quirky residents and I can't wait to read the next installment.
Thank you to Netgalley and One More Chapter for the chance to read The Pumpkin Spice Cafe.
I loved this book! The cozy small town setting was enlivened by the eccentric secondary characters - I especially loved the idea of the book club members trying to run the town. Logan comes across as a bit awkward but very likeable and Jeanie’s slightly chaotic personality is a great match for him. Reading this book really gets you in the mood for Autumn!
Since I am a huge fan of Gilmore Girls, I immediately had to request this book off netgalley just because of the title, cover and Laurie’s last name. I’m so ready for fall and this was the perfect book to read to kick off the fall season (I am completely over summer!) This was one of the cutest romance books I’ve ever read. I loved the small town setting, the townspeople and friends, the cafe, & the grumpy/ sunshine trope. The chemistry between Logan and Jeanie was super cute and it had just the right amount of spice that wasn’t too much for this book.
Get cozy with your pumpkin spice latte, delicious treat and this perfect small town romance that you need to check out on August 30th! Just in time Autumn 🧡
I really enjoyed this comfy, cozy romance. First of all, I LOVE that it's an 'autumn' book. There are many wonderful Christmas romances, quite a few Halloween romances - but after reading this book I've realized there aren't NEARLY enough fall love stories!
It definitely has a 'Hallmark' vibe - girl moves to small town and falls in love with local hunk. You may not find many unexpected plot twists, but that's perfectly fine! This book really hits the right notes for a cozy autumn romance :) Grab a pumpkin spice drink, a cozy blanket and add this to your fall lineup :) I look forward to reading more titles from this author!
Short version- high in romance- steamy, and atmosphere. Low on the mystery. This is obvious former the book description, but important information for readers.
I loved being transported to the autumn scene of a small town and a cafe called pumpkin spice. Our leads are reluctant, but also can’t resist each other,
Great read for autumn light reading to get into the mood for the season.
I actually ended up really enjoying this book. Though the title is corny, the writing is pretty well-done, which is not often the case in a lot of cute little rom-coms. I loved the fall setting and I really enjoyed the whole plot line of Jeanie taking over her aunt’s coffee shop. The love story was also very cute and charming and had pretty good development behind it - which again is not always the case, there are so many rom-com books that suddenly throw the main couple into love without it even developing at all. All of the characters were very fun and I really loved the friendships that Jeanie formed. If you are looking for a book that gives huge Gilmore Girl, fall vibes, this is the one to read!
I genuinely really liked this book; it was such a super cute fall read. I could definitely see myself reading this with a pumpkin latte!
I loved the grumpy x sunshine trope, the characters were likeable! It was definitely a comfort read! I’m such a sucker for anything fall!
I found it was heartwarming, opposites attract, small town romance. It will definitely get you in the mood for fall!
I gave The Pumpkin Spice Café a strong 3.75 stars.
Jeanie is more surprised than anyone when her aunt bequeaths her the quaint Pumpkin Spice Café. Especially since her aunt isn’t dead, she’s alive and well, and currently off working on her tan. Jeanie could have said no. And the old Jeanie would have. But now she’s determined to be the sunshiney owner of the town’s only coffee shop.
Logan is not usually one to care about town gossip. In fact, he avoids it at all costs. All he wants is to drop off his produce to the local businesses and then return to the farm he runs with his grandparents. But there are strange things happening in the café, odd noises and misplaced items and lights on the fritz. And Jeanie needs Logan’s help. But Logan wants nothing to do with the pretty new girl who probably won’t stick around, it’s just a shame he can’t stop thinking about her…
The Pumpkin Spice Cafe is a cozy romantic mystery, with a grumpy/sunshine dynamic, a small-town setting and a HEA guaranteed!

When I saw the cover and read the title for this ARC I had to read it. It screams fall and I was so happy it delivered. This is a light-hearted and cute read perfect for those crispy fall days spent in the sofa under a blanket with a cup of tea or pumpkin spice latte.
I would say the romance was cute, but it was very insta love and I prefer the opposite. It is told from a dual POV, something I am also not a fan of. However, these are just my preferences and it might be perfect for someone else.
I came for the fall vibes, and it delivered with all the pumpkins, fall festival and a mystery throughout the book. If you are looking for a typical Hallmark romance set during fall, this is the book for you.

This was a super cute read! It gave Gilmore Girls vibes mixed with a typical Hallmark movie(in the best way!) I loved what an easy read it was and I’m a sucker for small town romance. It wasn’t a super in depth book which I don’t mind because I was still able to get lost in the book and I found I couldn’t put it down. I enjoyed the plot and the townspeople. Definitely add to your TBR for a cute and cozy fall read!

Omg! I have been so excited to get into the fall mood for the longest time as it’s my favourite time of year. The cosy autumn, small town vibes in this book were incredible and were exactly what I needed at this time! I’m a big fan of gilmore girls too so this was so good! I also loved the mystery subplot and finding out all the misplaced items and odd noises around the cafe! I’m such a mystery fan too so this was cool.
I felt like both Logan and Jeanie were very real characters with their own life issues but I was still able to see them grow as people as well as a couple! However I had a slight issue with the pacing of the relationship… everything happened a little quickly. A slower progression to keep it realistic would’ve been great!
If you also like forced proximity, grumpy x sunshine and small town vibes then you’ll love this!
“It was a cool night and the wind rustled the dry leaves across the fields. The moon was full and bright overhead, with a stray cloud casting a shadow across it every now and then. As good a night as any for a ghost hunt…”
If this description didn't already put you in an autumn mood then I have to add the following, lots of hot coffee, pumpkin spice latte, delicious muffins and pumpkin – shaped sugar cookies, a great little town painted in the colors of autumn, a ghost hunting and a spicy romance. I am sure now that you are convinced that this story is the perfect one to start this fall! It is a cozy small town romance story with a bit of mystery and a big dose of spice… I honestly enjoy reading it and it made me looking forward to the pumpkin and ghost season! I recommend it of course!
Thank you Netgalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for the opportunity to read this cozy fall story!
This feel-good book is a bit like a small town Hallmark escape, with a mystery & some extra spice (& not the pumpkin kind of spice!) Jeanie’s aunt has retired, headed to the tropics, & bequeathed a small town cafe to her. Anxious to escape her stressful job in Boston, Jeanie views it as a great way to point her life in a different direction.
Cue suspicious late night noises, weird happenings, & a handsome reclusive local farmer that finds himself helping solve the mystery.
Jeanie & Logan are easy to like. The fact that both are emotional messes @ times is very relatable, as they each struggle with fears & insecurities. The small town nosiness & interfering friends are entertaining, making Logan feel uncomfortable & Jeanie feel welcomed.
I hope this is the start of a Dream Harbor series. I definitely need to hear more about the other couples that seem to be dancing around each other.
Btw…gotta go with Logan on the Twizzlers. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read & review an advance copy.
