This was such a a fun fall book, i adore the cover. I loved this book, i loved the writing and the characters. Such a good, coy fast paced book. The perfect book to cuddle up to while you have a pumpkin spiced coffee and a candle burning.

This is such a cute contemporary small-town romance book. If you’re looking for something short but fun, cute, heartwarming and full of nosey-small town folks, i’ll highly recommended it!
Jeanie and Logan are cutesy together but this book advertises as grumpy sunshine but i don’t really think it’s right tho.. It’s more like quite and calm mmc met with anxious bubbly fmc but there’s no grumpy sunshine. Still good tho, love it!!
3.5 stars this was so cute! The autumn vibes were immaculate and exactly what I needed to get me in the cozy pumpkin-y mood I so crave.
Was it predictable? Of course. It’s a small town romance based in New England in a town with extreme Stars Hollow vibes. I really did enjoy it though and will be checking out other books from this author when I want more Gilmore-type fixes.
This book had got to be the sweetest, coziest, most perfect fall romance that I have ever read!
Executive assistant Jeanie arrives at work one day to find her boss dead at his desk. Now out of a job and having deep thoughts about her own mortality, she accepts her Aunt Dot’s offer to move to the small town of Dream Harbour to take over her cafe. On her first night she hears some noise outside and decides to see what it is. With a baseball bat in hand she opens the door and nearly takes the head off of Logan, a local farmer. Logan is instantly smitten with Jeanie, however, he refuses to act upon it. After being spectacularly dumped by his last girlfriend he is determined to hold Jeanie at arms length, especially since she probably won’t be staying, right?
This book was just absolutely, positively adorable! The setting of Dream Harbour sounds like the most amazing small town and the other businesses and characters just all seemed like places and people I wanted to meet. The book very much plays into the small town, everyone knows everything about everyone mentality but I actually found it quite cute. The town is very protective of Logan and I think it’s sweet how they all try to help.
The mystery side plot was a bit fun, but I definitely figured out who did it within the first third of the book. Still, it added a bit of fun to a standard romance novel and I loved the addition!
The third act breakup actually made sense in this book! It was definitely something that was built up and did not feel forces or sudden. The resolution also felt very well done and I think this might be the best bout of third act breakup-ing that I’ve read!
Oh and it’s definitely spicy. It takes most of the book to get there but once we do it’s actually pretty plentiful. Loved that!
If you love cafes, slow burns, small towns and fall weather then you definitely want to read this book!
Thanks so much to One More Chapter, Harper Collins UK and Netgalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my honest review!
thank you so much to NetGalley, Harper Collins UK, and especially Laurie Gilmore for letting me read an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
I won’t lie, this took me a minute to really get into and fall in love with. It may have been because I’m coming out of a massive reading slump, but as someone who isn’t a super fan of slow burns, the start seemed a bit slow paced for me. But I totally understand why it was slow! And in the end, it really made me fall in love with the small town romance trope which I had never read before!!
The start of the book begins with Jeanie Ellis moving from the hustle and bustle of Boston Massachusetts to a tiny town just outside the city called Dream Harbor in order to take over her Aunt’s cafe. And she has absolutely no idea what she’s doing. And to top it all off, she thinks her new place is haunted. So when she meets the hunky town farmer, Logan Anders, she recruites him to help her solve her ghost problem. Only issue is Logan prefers to spend his time alone on his farm and not particularly in town. Especially not with women who don’t seem to be staying in town for long.
I had never read a small town romance before so I was really excited but also kind of nervous I was going to hate it. But I INSTANTLY fell in love! I could immediately feel myself become obsessed with the trope and am now searching for a million more small town/and cowboy romances lol! This is a slower burn but I didn’t even really notice how “slow” it was because the flirty conversations and mutual secret pining had me kicking my feet like a school girl. I am a sucker for when the mmc falls first and boy did Logan fall first and hard. It was so cute watching them navigate what they wanted to do and I felt like I was one of the gossiping townspeople watching it all unfold! And I was obsessed with the smutty book club that meets in the town! The characters are so fun and it sets up really nice if Laurie decides to do spin offs of the other main characters!
Overall, I think this was just a super cute fun read with a few twists I wasn’t expecting and had a really good time reading it! I cannot wait to see what comes next in Dream Harbor!
“When Jeanie’s aunt gifts her the beloved Pumpkin Spice Café in the small town of Dream Harbour, Jeanie jumps at the chance for a fresh start away from her very dull desk job.”
This book ticks every single box! Grumpy x Sunshine, small town, super cozy and last but not least all things autumn/Pumpkin Spice
I could not put this book down! It was the perfect book to put me in the autumn mood, made even better by the rain we’ve been having. All of the characters were adorable and so lovable. I wish I could dive right into the town of Dream Harbour.
It gave off Gilmore Girls vibes too with the small town charm and the festivals and town meetings. Plus an added bit of spice.
I HIGHLY recommend you grab a pumpkin spice latte and snuggle down with this book
Thanks @netgalley & @onemorechapterhc for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review

Jeannie just inherited The Pumpkin Spice Cafe from her Aunt. It is located in a small town and it is just the change she needs after leaving a stressful executive level job behind. She’s ready to learn who she is, make new friends and make this small town home. The only problem is someone is messing with her cafe and trying to make her pack her bags before she can settle in. Plus their is a sexy farmer she is attracted to but he has a complicated relationship with the town and she can’t risk it.
Logan is the local sexy farmer who just had his heart broken in-front of the entire town. Everyone in town is invested in his love life and he rather they not be. Little did he know delivering his weekly produce to the cafe, that he would meet a women to make him feel something again. Now he needs to decide if she’s worth the risk, as he is falling fast.
This story is told in Dual POV and is a super fast read. You follow Logan and Jeannie as they work to solve the mystery of who is messing with The Pumpkin Spice Cafe. You get to meet all the quirky towns folk and you are drawn in to small town charm. It’s the perfect fall ready plus it has a bunch of spice! I vote you add it to your TBR now. 🎃
Tropes you’ll find:
* Sexy Farmer
* Small Town
* Grumpy/Sunshine
* Fall Vibes
* Plenty of Spice
This book is delightful.
Meet Jeanie, a big city girl, who's recently moved to a small town to take over her aunt's café. And Logan, the local produce farmer, who is shy and reserved and fresh out of a terrible break up. He supplies the café with produce. I really enjoyed their meet cute (it involves a baseball bat and hedgehog pajama pants), and their chemistry.
This book is a small town, cozy mystery romance with all the fall vibes you'll ever need. It has a quirky cast of characters and made me think of Gilmore Girls, especially since the small town is Star Hallow-ish. It manages to be so sweet and yet pretty spicy too. I really enjoyed this combo. the ongoing mystery kept this book interesting and made me eager to see what was going on.
In summary, a sweet and spicy fall book to kick off your season.
I enjoyed this fun, seasonal romance and it was an undemanding, light read , although I will admit to blushing a little when reading a few of the spicier scenes! The mystery running through it added a little intrigue and the descriptions of small town society were funny and I suspect they are pretty much true of many places. I’m now feeling reading for trees changing colour, cooler weather and flannel shirts and I’m craving a decent cup of coffee!
Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins UK, One More Chapter, and Laurie Gilmore for this arc!
This book was so charming. The setting made me feel like I was in the tv show Gilmore Girls! Everything about this was perfect for a good cozy fall time read. I really enjoyed the mystery aspect and thought it was fun. The slow burn was *chef's kiss*! I can’t wait for the next book to return to Dream Harbor!
So I've seen this book around and was just in the mood for something autumnal, so I thought I'd give it a go.
Pumpkin Spice Cafe is a small town romance which reminded me of those Hallmark movies where a city girl moves to a small town and falls in love with the nearest man which I love.
I liked both Jeanie and Logan and couldn't help but root for them to get together. They both had their problems, Jeanie being an overthinker and Logan with his abandonment issues, but together they were just so sweet!
I was a bit surprised by the level of spice in this book, even though I should have really guessed by the title. It's not a huge amount, but considering how sweet and fluffy that it started out, I was expecting a fade to black/jump to the next day kind of thing. Also, there really isn't much of a mystery in it, even though the description says it's a 'cozy romantic mystery' which I found a little misleading.
There were a few secondary characters in the novel who I would love to see more from, particularly Logan's friend Annie, who is convinced the pub owner is her nemesis.
Pumpkin Spice Cafe is a must if you're looking for a romance that is both sweet and a little spicy.
This is THE ULTIMATE fall cozy read. Grab yourself a PSL, wrap up in a cozy knit blanket, and get ready for all the feels
Was this the most amazing thing I have ever read? No not really. Did it pass the time and was fairly enjoyable? Sure! Average plot with average characters. The romance was okay. I don’t think I will remember this book in a couple of days.
Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
Jeanie has moved from New York to Dream Harbour, she’s now in charge of her aunts cafe, the Pumpkin spice café.
She’s wants to make changes in herself and her life, but strange things keep happening in the cafe.
She’s certain that there’s a ghost in the cafe, and as she’s hearing noises one night, she comes down the stairs, with a baseball club in her hand and nearly injures Logan, who was only delivering some pumpkins, but then Jeanie tells him everything that’s happened in her life.
The story covers topics like trauma, finding where you belong and abandonment .
But there’s some lovely moments too.
I recommend this book.
I can't not wait for the next book!
Think small town, autumn, crispy leaves .... this book was the ultimate cosy read.... with a big splash of spice mixed in. Jeanie has had to take over her aunt's cafe and she has to learn how to live in a small town. Insert Logan and the spice and we have a story. This story deals with some big themes and has a lot of backstory trauma, which all helped shape the characters and flesh them out more. I will be reading this again in October when I need a cosy boost. A quick cute read that I adored.
I thought the grumpy sunshine trope was very well executed, the sunshine was on the right side of bright instead of coming across childish. I thought the author's voice came through well too. Perfect for fans of cozy fall reads or Gilmore Girls.
After Jeanie’s boss suddenly passed away her aunt Dot gifted her the Pumpkin Spice Café as she had decided to retire. When Jeanie arrives she finds that the cafe appears to be haunted, so she asks Logan, a grumpy local farmer, to help her solve the mystery.
This is set in small town America, where the local community can be very supportive if they decide they like you, but are wary of their own being hurt by outsiders. This happened previously to Logan, so Jeanie is warned to be very careful of his feelings. It was interesting to see how Jeanie transitioned from high-powered PA to coffee shop owner and their relationship developing plus how the mystery would be solved. Suffice it to say that there are some spicy moments whilst they work out their feelings for each other. An easy read for poolside or by a warming fire.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.
