A hilarious, fall read that is a must read that is perfect for pumpkin spice coffee season. The character are relatable and the story keeps you hooked from beginning to end with the mystery and romance.
A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.
I've never read anything from Laurie Gilmore before. But I saw this cover and I was like this is fall vibes for me and I love it. Then I read the title and blurb and knew I needed to read it.
I loved it from start to finish. It was such a sweet read and I loved the characters. I'd love to have my very own café in a cute town where fall is beautiful.
This was Gilmore Girls in book form. I loved every page of it. Perfect cozy mystery aspects mixed with romcom - perfection for a fall read. I can't wait to read more about the other characters.
I submitted this review earlier on netgalley but it didn't submit for some reason so- second times the charm!
So this feels like a cozy mystery that's cute and tame and then BAM here comes the spice! It was so shocking that I wondered if the writer brought in a different writer to write all of the steamy love scenes. It just didn't flow. And I love some spice- so that's not a dig on a spicy cozy mystery, I think we need more of these!
Overall I wasn't super invested in the love story but I wanted to be. It was fine but not wonderful.
If you're wanted some fall vibes and a cozy mystery, you won't regret picking this up but it won't blow your mind.
3 stars
3-4 steam level
thank you netgalley for the ARC!
The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore is a really cute, autumn romance. It is also book 1 of the Dream Harbor series. There was an element of mystery, but with more than enough romance to make up for it. This book made me want to curl up with a soft blanket and a pumpkin spice latte. A fun, quick read that sets the scene for fall perfectly. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
A beautiful autumnal read that unjust couldn’t put down.
I loved the way the author set the scene and introduced the characters.
This is such a cute grumpy x sunshine romance and the perfect book to kick off my fall reading. Jeanie was an absolute sweetheart who was just trying to start anew with her new cafe. Logan was such a cinnamon roll, crusty grump on the outside and soft gooey sweetness on the inside. They also had some good chemistry
I think it's funny that the author has Gilmore in her name because Dream Harbour was definitely giving Stars Hollow vibes. I would even go as far as to say that the romance did remind me of Luke and Lorelai with some abandonment issues, and townsfolk meddling.
100% will definitely recommend to be added to any fall TBR
A small town romance set in a little town that’s giving all the ‘Gilmore Girl Star’s Hollow’ vibes 🍂
Jeanie has just moved out of the city to take over her retired aunt’s cafe. Just as she’s settling in, she encounters the local farmer, and overtime it’s obvious they were meant to be together
This book is perfect for getting in the mood for Autumn, it’s a cute, cozy story. All of the characters are instantly likeable and funny in their own ways. My only thing is that it would’ve been nice to have seen more of the background characters, especially the book club! But overall it’s a fun, light read

This was literally the sweetest romantic cozy mystery ever!
The characters and the small town enchanted me, I cannot wait for book two to get to know more about Hazel and Noah.
The Pumpkin Spice Café follows Jeanie who moves to Dream Harbor for a fresh start. I absolutely loved seeing her find herself in this new life. She made some amazing friendships and of course met a grumpy farmer Logan too!
I loved every single character in this small town, I feel like I’m one of them now I can imagine myself in the café and being part of the Dream Harbor Book Club reading spicy romance novels! This was such a perfect fall read.
I highly recommend it to anyone!

jeanie & logan
for those who love: small town romance, found family, and grumpy x sunshine
think of a hallmark christmas movie but make it fall! the fall vibes were perfect for the season and this is a quick cute romance. there is a subplot of mystery but it feels scattered at times. many things happen in the book but some topics brought up feel unanswered. overall, it is perfect for the fall!
The pumpkin spice cafe is a cozy heart warming Romcom that’s a must for any Gilmore girls fans. I picked this up just as the weather was getting cooler and it’s best read with a hot drink and cozy sweater. A true he falls first dreamy romance that will have you wanting more I cannot wait for the next book in this series!
When her aunt can no longe r look after the pumpkin spice cafe Jeanie steps in to take over the business. She’s over worked and overtired and not sure what she wanted from life the cafe is a perfect new start when she stumbles across the local grumpy heartthrob…
For fans of small town romances , Gilmore girls and grumpy sunshine this one was so fun!!
I really liked this book! I gave it 4- stars. It's a really cosy small town romance, with great characters and funny scenes
This was a perfect small town grumpy/sunshine romance. Loved the quirky town and its characters and would definitely like to find out more about them
Having not read any books by this author I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed this fun cosy read. Set in a small town coffee cafe this is a book about life and life changes, about making a new start and even a little romance.
But there is enough interest and great characters to make this a fun, enjoyable, interesting and entertaining read. It is cute, cosy and heartwarming to say the least and was so easy to read. I loved it for exactly what it was, a feel good, makes you smile read.
Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
Jeanie has just moved from a big city to a small town to run her aunt’s coffee café but she’s having trouble settling in and something or someone doesn’t seem to want her there. This was a fun, cute read with all the fall feels. A little bit of romance mixed with a mystery. The storyline was pretty predictable; a typical lifetime movie with some sex scenes. I love the idea of Dream Harbor, the small town with close neighbors. It reminded me a lot of Stars Hallow in Gilmore Girls.

I recently had the pleasure of stepping into the charming world crafted by Laurie Gilmore in her delightful novel, "The Pumpkin Spice Café," and it was like taking a sip of warm apple cider on a crisp autumn day. From the moment I cracked open the book, I was transported to a place where pumpkin spice, friendship, and new beginnings reign supreme.
This heartwarming story revolves around the life of Sarah, a city girl who unexpectedly finds herself in the quaint town of Maplewood. The Pumpkin Spice Café, a cozy little coffee shop at the heart of the community, becomes her refuge as she navigates the challenges of starting anew. Gilmore's writing captures the essence of this idyllic town, making it a character in its own right. The picturesque descriptions of Maplewood in the fall season were so vivid that I could almost smell the cinnamon and feel the leaves crunching beneath my feet.
What truly sets this novel apart is its cast of endearing characters. Sarah is relatable and resilient, making her an instantly likable protagonist. The quirky residents of Maplewood, from the eccentric café owner to the lovable regulars, add layers of charm to the story. Their interactions and the bonds they form tug at your heartstrings and remind you of the importance of community and connection.
Gilmore weaves a story that is rich with themes of self-discovery, second chances, and the healing power of simple pleasures. The Pumpkin Spice Café serves as a backdrop for the characters' personal growth and transformation. It's a reminder that sometimes, life's greatest joys can be found in the small, everyday moments.
The pacing of the book is perfect for a cozy autumn read. It unfolds gently, allowing you to savor the evolving relationships and the evolving seasons. The plot is heartwarming and predictable in the best way, providing a comforting and soothing reading experience.
As I turned the pages, I found myself craving pumpkin spice lattes and warm apple pies, thanks to Gilmore's evocative descriptions of the café's delectable offerings. It's a testament to her ability to create an atmosphere so inviting that you'll wish you could actually step into the café and join in on the cozy conversations.
In conclusion, "The Pumpkin Spice Café" by Laurie Gilmore is a heartwarming, feel-good novel that captures the magic of autumn and the power of community. It's a story that warms your heart and leaves you with a sense of contentment. If you're looking for a book to curl up with on a cool fall evening, this one is the perfect choice.
