If you've ever read and enjoyed other books from Rich Amooi, you'll probably also enjoy this one by him. Also, if you've never read him before, this would would be a nice one to start with.
This is the fifth novel I've read by the author. It's a sweet story featuring very appealing lead characters who I found it very easy to like and root for. Like the other books I'd read by Amooi, 'You Chive Me Crazy' (such a great title!) made me smile and laugh a lot as I read it.
My only complaint about it is that the frequent mentions of Potato Heaven, the food truck owned by one of the main characters, made me crave potatoes A LOT as I read the book! Okay, that's not a real complaint since I love potatoes. I just wish that the food truck was real and that it was parked somewhere near me!
If you're looking for a fun romcom to escape into for a little while, 'You Chive Me Crazy' would be a good and entertaining choice.

My Opinion:
As someone who loves and works with food, I had fun reading this book. Love the backstories, food descriptions, humor and plot. I think the plot was a little different from all the stories we're used to these days, which is good. Even if you don't cook, you can enjoy this story. It was a little hallmark-y for me, but sweet books are usually like that and that's okay. And I really liked that most of the chapters are from a male perspective, especially coming from a male writer, it's interesting. I look forward to reading more from him.
This is one of those books that will put a smile on your face as you start reading and will essentially keep it there all the way through.
I love picking up a book by this author, because I am always thoroughly entertained from start to finish. And this book was no different. The characters were well-developed and endearing and you can't help but fall in love with them.
Lucas is a well-known food critic and Zoe is the owner of a food truck. Years ago, they were good friends and went to the same culinary school. Then they were kicked out and things changed after that. But now Zoe needs Lucas' help and he is there for her and they work together to make Zoe's food truck a success. As they spend time together, they realize they still care for each other. These two had strong chemistry and really clicked. I enjoyed watching their relationship grow and the witty banter between them was so much fun. The story was entertaining from start to finish and there definitely was a uniqueness to it. A charming story with fun, humor, romance and also a little vulnerability, which definitely brought a sense of realness to it.
Truly an enjoyable story!
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
What a fun romp! I was transported to a fun time in a beautiful place with characters I wanted to know. The dialogue was snappy and the situations realistic. A great escape without having to leave the house. I recommend this book for young people and people young at heart!
Sweet second chance romance that revolves around a food truck festival (I had no idea these existed but now I must find one). I liked the main characters but found the events that take place to be implausible, particularly where the "villain" was concerned, but that's OK as it added a little depth to the story. Otherwise a very light but enjoyable read. Perfect for a vacation read or a rainy afternoon.
I knew the moment that I read the “this is a work of fiction” disclaimer (Does that have name?) at the beginning of the book that I was in for a fun story. An author with that kind of sense of humour can’t be anything but fun. It’s my first from this author, but won’t be my last! I don’t often laugh out loud at funny lines or moments in books (even though I enjoy them), but it happened a couple times in this book. There were many funny moments and characters. And the banter was excellent. Top-notch. The story was dual POV and combined enemies to love/second chance/friends to love with some forced proximity and only one bed. There’s even a little fake relationship, but it’s just a small part of the story. The secondary characters almost stole the show, they were so quirky, funny, and cute. (Well, except the villain of the piece, of course.) And Alexa is just…well, you need to read it, lol. Lucas and Zoe were great main characters, and they managed to avoid being overshadowed by the fun supporting characters. I loved watching them come back together, come to understand each other better, and eventually acknowledge their feelings. They were totally there for each other when it counted. Some great romantic moments and tension too. I also adored the potato nicknames. Who knew that potato-themed endearments would make me absolutely fall in love with a book? It definitely made me love Lucas too. It was so cute. I enjoyed this book so much! Absolutely recommended! This story is closed-door, with a few lower level harsh words.
This book was adorable! I knew this was going to be a good book by the description but it was so sweet. If you are looking for a light summer read, this is it. There's no spiciness and I don't recall any foul language.
Thank you #NetGalley and the publisher for the early copy. As I am my own person, all of the above opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this book! have loved everything by this author and look forward to read more by him. This book was well written and flowed really easy. I would definitely recommend this book.
3.5 stars rounded down :)
Whilst I only really picked up this book for the food pun, I found You Chive Me Crazy and adorable fun, fluffy read!
Lucas and Zoe go way back and meet again when Zoe crashes her food truck to avoid hitting a dear, which eventually leads to them working together and staying at the same bed and breakfast.
Both of the MC's were just amazingly cute, side characters as well, might have been the most wholesome book I've read in a while.
My only issues being the dialogue was a little off in some places, and Lucas and Zoe's past conflict was a little anti-climactic. But other than that, super lovely and fun! :)
Thank you so much to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the free copy provided in exchange for an honest review!
This is such a cute romcom! I loved the characters and their culinary background. One bad thing is, I really want one of those gourmet potatoes!!
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!
A very light hearted read about a food truck owner and a famous food critic who knew each other in high school, had a fall-out and meet again t a food truck festival. There are a lot of coincidences going on, not only Zoe and Lucas meeting again after ll this time, but also Lucas’ biggest nemesis and #1 jerk Damian - also a food critic - and his ex girlfriend showing up at the same little town and staying at the same small bed & breakfast. Even his best friend Ronaldo shows up!
A lot of unrealistic events take place, and Damien tries to win the number one price for Biggest Jerk of the century. It was all a bit too unrealistic and far-fetched for me. Also the fact that Zoe got ‘seething mad’ at Lucas for signing her up for a food truck dealership because ‘he was manipulating her’ was just ridiculous. What I liked is that Lucas uses potato related nicknames like tater tot, curly fry and sweet potato for Zoe.
Overall a nice but very light read that you can finish in an afternoon.
I received and reviewed an advanced copy of this book and I am grateful for this opportunity. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was a cute and funny Rom-Com! I absolutely adored it! This book had everything I wanted in a cute romantic read!

"You're hobbling like a hobbit."
This is my first time reading anything by Rich Amooi and it definitely won't be my last. It was very refreshing to have a romance book that was light hearted, fun and it made a change to not include a sex scene of some description and no bad language.
Lucas is a well known food critic and Zoe is the owner of a food truck- Potato Heaven. They were friends ten years ago after they were both kicked out of Culinary School. This is a book of second chances and a chance to reconnect, things happen for a reason, when one door door closes another one opens.
I read in my go after I was struggling with fibro pain and I couldn't sleep. This was such a fun read and loved all the characters but my favourite was Alexa.
Thank you for Netgalley for a copy of the book for an honest review.
What a fun title! I adore a pun and love that this story had the title from the start. Lucas and Zoe were so fun to read about and I really found myself laughing alongside them and rooting for their romance. Side note, I also wish Potatoe Heaven was a food truck that I could visit because it sounds amazing :)
What a fun book! The title is completely indicative of the book....clever, witty, hilarious, and endearing. It was a breath of fresh air that captivated me and left me thinking of it through the day. The characters are human, relatable, and fun. The plot kept you wondering and kept my attention. This is the first book I've read from this author and I'm hooked! Very current too, it felt like it took place in today's world. Highly recommended!
This book was so FUN! I found myself laughing out loud more than once. The characters are lovable and there are just enough twists to make for an interesting story, while still knowing what will happen in the end. The pacing of this book is quick and the writing light hearted. Getting to know the MCs had me rooting for them from start to end!
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Cute and easy read. Definitely had me laughing and rolling my eyes at some of the antics of the two main characters. I really enjoy a book centered around food so this was right up my alley. I also enjoy the small town feel and the fake dating troupe. It was slow at times, but not in a way that ever wanted me to stop reading. I had never read anything by this author before, but now I'm definitely interested in other books by Rich Amooi. Overall, a good plot with humor, romance and good food!
This was a fun story and I liked the group and cast of characters but just wasn't as invested in the couple, depsite the back story!
The re-meet cute was fun :)
Honestly, I found it hard to relate to the characters and their lives. I usually love a good forced proximity and someone taking care of the other when they’re sick, but this on just didn’t pull me in like his other books did.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was a good book. I enjoyed this book a lot. This was a good one. i was hooked on this from the start. Must read stuff.
