No ridiculous complicated recipes, just simple straightforward recipes using seasonal vegetales and normal ingredients.
Everything tried have turned out nice.and satisfied the palate of everyone at home.
Being vegetarian whole my life, I can vouch for the vegetarian diet and say it proudly that this is something that always keep you healthy and active.
She (Erin, author) here bring a quick guide on the preparation of vegetarian recipes and for beginners it is okay to learn the easily cookable dishes. Spanning breakfast, lunch, appetizers and desserts she bifurcated the meals for each solar time. Here she use all kind of beans, fruits, grains and spices but bit less as being an Indian I know there are many more to enhance the taste. ;)
She gave her dishes the Mexican, Italian and American flavors suitable for all kind of people she knew around. She took care of explaining on protein levels and customization of taste as per an individual's requirement. Her writing make a way to inspire readers to start cooking for themselves.
I advice, for meat eaters to leave the same and adapt vegetarian diet approach to save animal kingdom and pollute less in terms of saving an environment. As much as I learned from my US friends they can't live long without having meat or chicken, but I say this way you are spoiling your old age. As much as you burden you organs they will start giving-up.

Some delicious recipes and tips and tricks. I really enjoyed these recipes and as have the people I've made them for.
Lots of great tips, r3cipes, suggestions, ideas for following a semi to pure vegetarian diet. Lots of great ideas.
Erin Alderson has written a book of very accessible recipes for anyone who wishes to cook quick and easy vegetarian meals.
Not all of the recipes have photos, but several have variations for different times of the year to make use of seasonal produce. They can also be adapted to use what is in most people's store cupboards.
Readers should be aware that the book is aimed primarily at the US market, so some of the ingredients mentioned may not be available in the UK or elsewhere.
This was an enjoyable read and I will definitely try some of the recipes out. My niece is a vegan, so will suggest this book to her.
I received a free digital ARC of this book via Quarto Publishing Group - Four Winds, and am voluntarily leaving this review.
I saw this book at the perfect time as I'm a vegetarian but get really stuck with cooking and finding new, easy ideas. I really like the range of recipes in this book and the simple way it was laid out. I love cookbooks but get intimidated when recipes have 20+ ingredients as I don't tend to have 'pantry items' just laid about. Highly recommend this book to get some new ideas and to give you some motivation in the kitchen.
Some of the recipes did not seem quick or easy and I wished there would have been more emphasis on including protein in the dishes as this is one of the most difficult parts of vegetarian meals. However, there were a few recipes I would try that look yummy.
Quick and Easy Vegeratian Cooking for Beginners is a great book to keep in your kitchen, whether you're following a meat-free diet or simply want to diversify your meals. The book is structured based on different meals of the day, starting with breakfast and ending with dinner and desserts.
First thing that I really appreciated about this cookbook is how open and honest Alderson is about the process of cooking itself. The recipes are easy to adjust based on your needs or what you have on hand. Most importantly, Alderson emphasises that our hectic day-to-day lives can make it hard to cook everything from scratch, and there's no harm in using a simpler, ready-made solution. As someone who's godawful at anything involving doughs, I really appreciate such approach. Cooking doesn't have to be an exact science where you follow a recipe to a T. Improvisation and trying out new things is encouraged.
Once it comes to the recipes themselves, there's a lot of variety. For instance, I'm more of a savoury breakfast person, while I know many others prefer sweets, and there's options for both. Some of the recipes are preceded by short introductions and stories of Alderson's journey in befriending certain ingredients or mastering the dishes in question. Each recipe is usually followed up by a variation to suit different seasons based on what produce is available at the time.
Another compliment goes out towards the images – most recipes are accompanied by illustrations. The photos maintain a rustic style but are high-quality and serve as a good idea on both how the food should look and as an inspiration on how to serve it.
If you want some quick and simple ideas for your meal planning, this book is definitely worthwhile.
Terrific cookbook for starting a vegetarian diet. The recipes are easy to follow with easily accessible ingredients. I do wish there were a few more pictures.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and all opinions expressed are entirely my own
This is my first Erin Alderson cookbook and I enjoyed this recipe book. It's an easy to follow cookbook divided into segments that include breakfast recipes. If you are new to the diet you will love this cookbook as the instructions are easy to follow and the recipes has variations based on seasons . I cannot recommend it enough! An absolute gem for the kitchen and as a gift.
More and more people are adopting a meat free diet, for a whole host of reasons - this recipe book has got you covered with a wide range of tasty, seasonal vegetarian dishes. I was a vegetarian for over a decade, and this book still had original and fresh new ideas that I’ve not come across! I love the way the book is set up; giving you the basic dish, and then different variations of that same base dish, depending on the season. You just need to switch up the ingredients and / or method.
Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group – Fair Winds and Netgalley for an eARC of this book to read and review.
This is a fantastic vegetarian cookbook covering a huge range of cuisines and ingredients. The layout is easy to follow and the recipes are straightforward without a long list of ingredients. Many are adaptable to include the same method with a variety of different ingredients. The illustrations and descriptions are helpful and would build the confidence of the most novice chef.
One of the best cookbooks I've read recently! The author takes a quite personal approach to her vegetarian journey, mixing recipes with stories and experiences. The book is logically divided into five chapters spanning breakfast, lunch, appetizers and desserts. I love that most recipes are composed of one base recipe and then several options to refine it depending on the season. All the recipes seem very beginner friendly and don't use a wide variety of special ingredients, however always assembled with the idea of providing healthy options. The instructions are easily understandable. My only critique is that not every recipe is accompanied by a picture which I usually find very helpful. However, the basic recipe usually has a visual support so I think it's okay to imagine what the variation works look like. Or just simply try it and find out yourself :)
Great recipes written very week. The methods are very easy to follow and description of the products… mouth watering. Great book
A fabulous array of recipes for all occasions.
The recipes do not look too hard to replicate with simple clear instructions.
I wish every recipe had its own picture do get an idea of what they should look like, however like so many other books out there this is not the case.
I will be trying a fair few of these recipes and it’s great to be able to have more vegetarian meals in my repertoire.
Would recommend especially if you are looking for some different veggie recipes.
A wonderful addition to the cookbook shelf, whether you are a vegetarian or flexitarian. I loved that there were variations on dishes, like the breakfast waffles for sweet and savoury tastebuds. Some really interesting ideas for meals throughout the day that I hadn't considered, like quinoa for breakfast & great ways to get some good protein into vegetarian dishes. Each recipe is tagged with a season for seasonal ingredients and cooking styles, which is a lovely addition. I'd like some additional photos to make my mouth water even more!
Tasty and delicious recipes. I can't wait to try them all. Well written, well set out, and very very inticing.
An educational and easy to read book that will definitely help beginners tackle the challenges of vegetarian cooking.
