I would give this book a 3.5 to a 4. I very much enjoyed the writing and the story. However there were quite a few areas that were contradictory and a bit unrealistic that kept the book from being really good. Some of the catch phrases/bits of wisdom in the book were delightful and wonderful and very applicable to this world we live in - honestly my favorite part of the book! I thought the author did a good job of putting them in the right places although sometimes it got a bit preachy. The overall theme of finding a family was warm and lovely. I received an ARC of this book and give thanks to the publisher, author and NetGalley. All comments are my own.

I loved this book. The characters were wonderful and the description of the town made you want to be there. Cora had lost her mother and her mother's instructions were to take her home to Moonberry Lake for burial. Cora had loved this town for the first 7 years of her life, and then her mother moved them away and would never tell her why. We didn't find out why until close to the end of the book. It was a very good surprise. Cora had never had many friends and in this small town, she found a family of them. All walks of life and all ages. She felt at home I can't wait for the next book in the series

I enjoyed this charming novel and would recommend it to fans of inspirational romance and small town stories. Cora's journey is immediately relatable, and I was cheering for her along the way. The side characters are delightfully entertaining and perfect for this genre. The story is sweet and moves along at a nice pace. Heartwarming and sweet, ON MOONBERRY LAKE is sure to make you smile.

A wonderful story that reminded me of building relationships and creating family that aren't blood relatives. Seeing the best in people and taking time to be quiet to hear God is important.

This book had a good story. The characters were well-rounded. It was a bit predictable but it was enjoyable.

Cora Matthews is reeling when she arrives a Moonberry Lake, and the building she received from her mother is a run down, almost uninhabitable lodge. Add to this is the colorful assortment of local residents, and this story will warm your heart.

You feel sorry for Cora as this story opens, she appears to be so broken, but as the read unfolds, gifts of friendship are sprinkled about, but will she open her heart to what is offered.

I loved this read, and the unusual people that are offered, and the response of difficult times and how they rally around those whom are having troubles.

From disasters, to a bit of sweet romance, to gifts of friendship and tea/coffee, you won't see what is around the corner!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.

Cora Matthews left Moonberry Lake at the age of seven when she moved away with her mother. She never went back or saw her grandparents again. She was not particularly close to her mother, however, upon the death of her mother, Cora is back in Moonberry Lake and learns she has inherited the lodge that had belonged to her grandparent’s. After years of neglect, it needs a great deal of repairs and restoration. There is one stipulation, she must live there for a year.

This story is absolutely filled with delightful characters that found a way into my heart from the beginning of this heartwarming story. Cara has no family, has a poor track-record when it came to relationships, having just broken off her engagement. The residents of this charming small-town rally around her and grow into Cora’s heart.

There are unexpected, long-held secrets revealed and I often had to pause while reading to laugh-out-loud at the crazy situations Cora found herself in. Always there was someone nearby to rescue her. When the last page was turned, it left my heart full of thankfulness for all the blessings of family and friends God has graciously given to me.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
