With One Stone is a fantastic first novel by Mark Jenkins. It immediately had me hooked! If you're good at predicting endings, this is a breath of fresh air! Multiple times throughout the book I was positive I had the ending figured out, only to discover that none of my predictions in the major plot twist were correct. The author keeps you invested in all of the characters and turning the pages.
The book is very well-written, but does require some additional edits for typos, but that was the only negative I have for this book.
When Freida McFadden recommends a book, you listen!
I absolutely adore books about writers and the twists in this one will leave you reeling! Debut novel? You'd never know it! This is definitely an up and coming author and a can't-miss debut!
Oh my heavens, NetGalley has given me the greatest gift, finding authors who I’ve never heard of and LOVING them!!

Highly recommend and thank you to the publisher and NetGalley!!
Lovethis book! I love freida books and stumbled across this book on her page! I was so glad I did, it was a great read and had me hooked until the end!
Freida McFadden shared this book in her group so I already knew it would be good and a must read. It definitely didn’t disappoint it’s so good! It kept me hooked it was so hard to put down!
I have to say, it did not disappoint. This gripping thriller kept me hooked from beginning to end, and the twists and turns kept me guessing until the very end.
The author's skillful writing and attention to detail made the story come to life, drawing me in and making me feel like I was right there in the middle of the action. The characters were well-drawn and complex, and I found myself empathizing with them even as they struggled with their own demons.
Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good thriller. It's the perfect combination of suspense, mystery, and intrigue, and it's sure to keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
One of the best books I've read this year! I cant believe it's a debut by this author. It's very well written, amazing character development & plot. The twists & turns are amazing. You won't see them coming at all. Leaves you guessing til the end & keeps you on the edge of my seat. Can't wait for more by the author!
I loved the premise of this book. What went a bit awry for me is that it took a bit long for any action to happen. There were also a lot of important characters and it was a little difficult to keep up with all of the details. All in all, it wasn’t a bad book as it kept me reading until the end, but I think it went on a bit too long and would have benefited from more editing to make the story tighter.
This book was interesting enough from the start, but honestly, it unraveled as the story continued until it really fell apart at about the 75% mark.
With One Stone follows author Nina Travers and her family and keeps you guessing... however, there were a lot of editing errors/typos, tons of plot holes, and, frankly, far too many twists crammed into this one story.
It definitely had great potential, and I hope this review will be taken as constructive criticism. I do hope to see more from this author.
I requested this book through NetGalley because it was highly recommended through a Freida McFadden Facebook group that I've been in. I found the characters were interesting. There were plenty secrets, and there were many twists I wasn't expecting. I think it was good book, I think the keep quiet sex between Jack and Owen could have been left out.
The book is about the main character Nina, who is a best selling author of thrillers and her mother also writes best selling thrillers. Nina's marriage is on the rocks, but she can't figure out how to fix it. She hasn't written in a while, and being the mother of two children doesn't give her much extra time to write. She thinks that not writing could be what is affecting her marriage. Her agent, Margo, has been remaindering her that her deadline is coming up quickly and she needs to make sure she has a best selling book by then. Margo dropped all of her other clients to focus exclusively on Nina and her mother, but now she's beginning to get a little nervous that Nina hasn't finished her book yet. All of a sudden, her former clients begin to die by accident, but is it really an accident? How are all of these authors really dying? Nina begins to think that her best friend, Kelly, is hiding something from her. Will Nina figure out her best friends secrets? Will she be able to save her marriage? Or will she be the next author to die?

Unfortunately, I did not like this book. It was very unrealistic and required you to suspend reality, which i have a problem with.
Mark Jenkins debut novel “With One Stone” is a psychological thriller, about an author of psychological thrillers. Nina’s career is in the gutter and her marriage is headed there. After falling from the top of the charts and being replace with competitors, Nina’s friends and family are desperate to get her back to the top. Desperate enough to lie and kill. Bodies start to stack up one by one. Is Nina to blame, or will she be next?
This book is a quick and easy thriller that captures your attention from the beginning!

WOW! WOW! WOW! This book was so freaking good! I heard about this book in a Psychological Thriller FB group and as soon as I read the summary I HAD to read it and it was such a great book-I devoured it!! There were so many twists my head was spinning!! I had no idea the direction this book was going. It was fast paced and I wanted to slow down so it didn’t end and that ending…..I. Did.Not.See.That.Coming.
READ THIS BOOK! I can’t wait to read more from this author!
Absolutely loved the twists and turns in this book. I thought I had it figured out multiple times, but was wrong ! Very Freida -McFadden esque. Very impressed for a first novel. Can’t wait to see what he writes next !
This was a pretty good debut novel by Mark Jenkins. I found out about it via Freida McFadden’s Facebook group and I’m glad I read it. It was somehow a bit predictable for me and it felt like certain parts dragged on a bit but the final reveal tied everything together.
Thanks to NetGalley, Mark Jenkins and his publisher for allowing more to read this arc in return for my honest review. I tried, I really tried. I just couldn’t get into this book. I had to dnf it.
First of all, thanks to the author and the publisher for approving me an arc of this book.
The story started great. The only problem with this one is that it went slow and dragging in the middle. I want those to end.
Next, who did it? Okay I was not expecting this one, and i was not paying attention.
Great build up on the characters and that one twist I didn’t see coming! Seriously?
Lastly, the ending was brilliant! It will leave you guessing on what’s gonna happen to them. I love the touch of drama on this.
Overall, it was a fun experience reading this author’s debut novel and I’m sure to be picking his next.
Thank you to the author and the publisher for approving me an arc in exchange for an honest review.
