This book took me FOREVER to get through. But it 100% was not the book's fault at all. I tried so many times to read this book on my phone and it just was NOT working for me. Recently I decided to splurge on a Kindle and I managed to get through about 60% in a few days. Which just astonished me.

That all said, I did really end up enjoying this. I don't really have much else to say, honestly. I enjoyed the experience of reading this, I loved meeting all these characters and I can't wait to see more from them, and I really enjoyed the setting of this one. Overall, this one really worked for me and it definitely made me want to read more from this author.

This is fourth full length novel by the author that I have read and it is my favorite thus far. I love a simp MMC and Cord was down bad day one - I couldn’t appreciate that more. Pearl did get on my nerves from time to time but everyone’s struggle is different and that’s what makes reading fun. Im excited to read more from Denise Williams and I’m hoping we get books for Pearl’s sisters next!

a solid 4 stars for Denise Williams!

like a familiar welcome home, Williams wrote a lovely second chance novel with Pearl and Cord. i've been invested in them since The Fastest Way to Fall and even then, there was some tension there that i was interested in. reading about their story and what happened to lead them here, i loved every minute of it!

Williams has always been great at including side characters who did not feel like tokens while creating characters who you want to root for. i loved this one and will continue to be on team Denise!! i always look forward to what she'll write next.

3.5 stars rounded up because Cord deserves more. This was super cute. It had great writing, funny dialogue, and extremely likable, diverse characters. I think the only place where it fell flat for me was the buildup of the office drama, which was one of Pearl's biggest reasons to be apprehensive about being serious with Cord, ending up being no drama at all. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for this happy ending, but the big stakes at the end just didn't feel worth the drama that emotionally surrounded it. Despite that, I'd still recommend it to anyone wanting a fluffy office romance.

Pearl Harris, appointed acting director of OurCode, faces a scandal that threatens her career. She has learned the hard way to be careful in work and love, and Cord Matthews, who fell for Pearl seven years ago, is the new board member. Their connection is immediate despite the many roadblocks in their way, and Cord must consider breaking his ban on serious relationships.

However, going public with a romance between them might derail Pearl's career and the progress she's made at OurCode. Both Pearl and Cord are hesitant to trust their feelings and take a risk, but the electricity between them becomes impossible to ignore. A workplace romance could spell disaster for both of them, and love isn't easily debugged.

The characters were engaging and expressive with their emotions. I didn't like Pearl and wasn't a big fan of hers, I mean what do you want from him. The way she hurt Cord was stupid. I felt bad for him but still he was the one who went and did everything all the time. The 4th star is specifically for Cord. He was the sweetest man you can find. He was kind, thoughtful, brilliant and swoon-worthy. What is not there to love about him?

This story was warm and heartfelt and showed how difficult workplace romance can be when you have been hurt in the past by the same. It was a rollercoaster ride one with heartache. The secondary characters were amazing.

It was a great read but I wanted more from Pearl.

All romance readers, you need to add this to your TBR majorly for Cord.

Thank you, Netgalley, the author, and Berkley Publishing for the gifted e-book! ❤️ #gifted. My review is comprised of my honest thoughts.

Read this book if you like: Dual POV, past and present timelines, second chances, steamy 🔥

I liked this one, but it was a little of a miss for me. It was repetitive at times. They seriously needed to communicate. I love the representation, and the characters were developed well. I recommend it!

This was DNF for me. This book felt more like contemporary with romance themes than a true romance book. The book focuses more on the state of their careers and saving companies than the romance of the two main characters which I was not into. The few interactions of the main characters not dealing with work did develop true pining in my opinion and made me feel sorry for the MMC because the FMC had no intention but playing with his emotions simply because her ex was a bad guy so she swore off all men. If people are into technology based companies maybe this book will be a good read for them but overall it left me bored with no care about the main characters so I had to DNF

Pearl and Cord met 5 years ago when she was the assistant to Cord’s working partner, Wes. For Cord, it was love at almost first sight. For Pearl, while the chemistry was there, she put her career first. She eventually left that job to take another.

Fast forward to present where Pearl and Cord meet again. This time, they are on a more equal level and decide to date but Pearl still put her career first.

I liked this book. I liked that Pearl was a black woman leader in the STEM world and how she and her sisters interacted. I liked Cord’s earnestness. But I thought a lot of the problems with them getting together throughout the book stemmed from Pearl’s self-sabotage and that got tiring to read. I did love Tye, Pearl’s nephew, and his mentee relationship with Cord.

Thanks to NetGalley and Berkley for this eARC. Technically Yours is out now.

Books by Denise Williams are so so so stunning and this one did not disappoint. The second chance premise of this book had me glued to every word on the page. Pearl and Cord were wonderful and relatable and had me invested and rooting for their happiness. The emotional rollercoaster was well worth it and I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Unfortunately, this book fell flat for me. It was okay, but just okay. I found the characters irritating instead of endearing and I didn't love the dual timelines.

Beautiful written , enjoyable characters and an interesting storyline.
When Pearl can't stop running into the one that got away, both in personal and professional settings, she's has to come to terms with the fact that maybe she made a mistake and it's time finally say yes!
This is a great read! It is a fast paced, easy binge romance read. It has a great, easy to understand plot.

As someone who works for a nonprofit, I was weirdly excited to read this one - it's just not a space you see represented often! Technically Yours was a fun romance, though not my favorite. A lot of the conflict seemed artificially manufactured and I'm not sure I ever fully understood why they weren't together in the first place but all in all a fun read.

Absolutely love Denise Williams and this book was just as good as everything else I've read of hers! The attention and care to representation was perfect!

Pearl and Cord met years ago and instantly connect. Life got in the way and Pearl leaves Cord broken hearted. Pearl has been working to make OurCode a huge success. She is a team player and really wants the temporary position to become permanent. The one before her messed up bad and leaves the company scrambling to pick up the pieces. Cord comes back into her life as she is trying to fix these pieces. The author does an amazing job of making you feel like you are in the room and can feel the spark between them. Pearl is adamant that they can't take their feelings any further and then Cord becomes her nephew's mentor. They end up seeing each other more and they have a hard time sticking to the friend's zone. I loved how relatable the characters were and I can't wait to read more by Denise Williams.

Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for allowing me the opportunity to review this book. I will be recommending this to my patrons!

This was a fun enough read at first, but it began to drag a bit toward the middle and then particularly at the end. I appreciated the diversity of the characters and the relationships of the sisters and Pearl's nibling, but it felt a bit too formulaic and contrived even for a genre where that's expected.

I really enjoy Denise Williams' books and this latest is no exception. This second chance, workplace romance was full of steam, swoon and charm. I liked the dual POV and alternating timelines as well as the STEM representation.

Thank you Berkley Romance and Netgalley for my copy.

I quite enjoy Denise Williams books and couldn’t wait to dive into this one. With friends to lovers not quite being up my alley, I still wanted to try. I picked up the audio as well and that was an absolute delightful experience.

Overall I enjoyed this one, I really like her writing. Wasnt sure how I felt about their relationship, didn’t quite seem like a good fit. That was the main thing that really kept me from giving this a 5.

I have loved this authors previous books, largely because of the depth and banter. This one was not as captivating as her others. The banter was not there and I also felt the second chance history could have been expanded to include more detail. I was very lost through a good portion as to why they didn’t date in the past. Great representation of characters
