Lianna has been hurt by her last long term relationship with her ex-husband, Paul. She has now bought herself an old house and is looking to build an addition. Her friend Courtney suggests her brother, Kincaid, who's a contractor. Lianna and Kincaid know each other from high school, but haven't seen each other since then. Turns out that both are ready to start dating again. Will he do more than an addition to her house?
This is book 3 in the Coming Home series. I haven't read the other two, so it can totally be read as a standalone. It was a cute small town romance, but many things bugged me about it. It started strong, but the writing was clumsy, there were a lot of unimportant fluff, and it could've done better with more editing. I felt like this dragged on some points and went way too fast on others. The pacing was really off. Some things didn't make sense (if Lianna is as much of an overthinker as she says she is - repeatedly - there is no way she will sing those papers that fast). The more I was reafing, the more I was picking at it and noting negative things. HOWEVER, I did keep on reading, it kept on dragging me back in. I did love how from the moment they start dating and from the moment they are together, both MCs make it a very important point to be honest with each other and tell each other everything, because they both have been burned and have serious trust issues. I loved all of the lovable side characters, their quirk and their meddling, and hated all of the unlikable ones (after reading the afterword, to think that they were inspired by true storiesngave me the chills).
I received an advanced review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I’m totally loving the Way to a Woman’s Heart trilogy from Sheridan Jeane, and can’t wait to pick up more of her Coming Home series (and other books)!
The final book in the trilogy, From Bitter to Sweet, follows Lianna and Kincaid, characters we met in the previous two installments. While we met them both before and they’re more fully introduced now, and you could technically get away reading this as a standalone, there’s a lot of backstory given in the others that you could benefit from, including the side characters and town details.
Lianna split from her long-term (high school sweetheart) ex husband at the start of the first book, and she’s trying to figure out her newly single life - which includes renovating the the new house. Enter Kincaid, the best contractor in town. They kind of knew each other in high school but circumstances were such that they were not close (some background fully given in the book and don’t want to give it away). They are definitely attracted and before long, give in to it. Lianna had fertility issues in her marriage so they threw caution to the wind one day, and she winds up pregnant. Her dream come true and he’s terrified! Confrontations happen with the ex husband and huge back story with the new girlfriend come up and now even more drama ensues. Quite an interesting read, and not like the other two books at all.
I really enjoyed this one a lot and definitely recommend it, but there are a ton of trigger warnings to heed! Accidental pregnancy after infertility issues (huge one), lying and cheating, faked pregnancy after cheating being the biggest ones.
I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Flowers and Fullerton, and this is my honest feedback.
From Bitter to Sweet is book 3 in the "Coming Home" trilogy (which is part of "The Way to a Woman's Heart" series. While this book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone novel, I believe you would have more insight into side characters if you read the others, especially in order. I read this as my first in the trilogy and will go back for the other two.
Lianna's life exploded a year ago when she found her husband cheating on her. Now, she has moved to a new home, is happy in her work life and is ready to take a chance at dating again. Kincaid is a construction man who won the bid for the addition to her home and will consider starting something with someone special. Will their connection last through the ups and downs of life?
I enjoyed reading this book. The main character build was good. Overall, it was good and I was able to immerse myself in the setting. The ending wrapped up a little too quickly for me. I would have loved to see a bit more conflict before the HEA.
There were discussions of infertility, pregnancy loss, fake pregnancy, and lies.
Thank you to Sheridan Jeane, Flowers and Fullerton and NetGalley for allowing me to read this advanced copy.
This was my first read from this author and I loved it!
Small town romance with plenty of spice. I really enjoyed this best friend’s brother romance. After a terrible divorce Lianna is definitely cautious and Kincaid’s also had his share of drama so their path to their HEA isn’t necessarily a smooth one.
I liked the whole cast of characters, the great dialogue and the chemistry between the two main characters.
After leaving her cheating husband and buying a fixer upper, Lianna is ready to renovate! Relying on the recommendation of a friend from bookclub, she hires local contractor Kincaid to bring her dream to life.
Kincaid hasn't seen Lianna since they double dated for his senior dance and is immediately drawn to her. He's had a wall up since he was betrayed by his ex-fiancee in the worst way; she faked a pregnancy knowing he would propose. Still licking his wounds, he's hesitant to open his heart again.
As they continue to spend time together, will they be able to work through their past hurts? Or will Lianna's infertility and Kincaid's loss of his 'fake' baby finish them before they can begin?
Thank you to Author @sheridanjeane @netgalley & @victoryeditingngc for this ARC. I enjoyed the first two books in the series and this one was no exception!
Being the third book, I was already familiar with the MC's in this story. Lianna from the past FMC's bookclub and Kincaid from the past MMC's Monday night cooking class. I really enjoyed the way that their relationship progressed and LOVED the scene in the rain 💕 I feel that the Author did a brilliant job of tying together what we knew of the characters with a modern friends to lovers romance.
This book will publish on June 5th 2023 and I recommend you read all three books in the series!
I so loved this story. There's something about second chances and true love, that I had to read it. You should too. A few surprises to smile at
Light hearted and fun this book checked all the boxes when it came to a feel good easy read! I didn't realize it was the 3rd book in a series when I read it, however it clearly can be read as a standalone
Lianna is recently divorced from her cheating husband. Looking for a fresh start, she decides to remodel her home, enter Kincaid, the easy on the eyes owner of the construction company doing the remodel. Fresh out of his own heartbreak, he has trust issues and fights his attraction to Lianna, after all she is a client.
Their story unfolds quickly and the story deals with some heavy topics amidst the light hearted topics. I will go back and read the other 2 books now that I have read this one.
Thanks NetGally for the good read!
Such a fun read! I really enjoyed From Bitter to Sweet. The characters were well developed and you could feel the struggle between Lianna and Kinkaid. The story had me rooting for them the entire time. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet romance.
Thank you Netgalley for an arc of From Bitter to Sweet by Sheridan Jeane
I really liked Lianna & Kincaid’s relationship and how open and honest they were from the beginning. This is a super cute romance that touches upon and handles the difficult topics of infidelity and infertility with grace.
I didn’t fully love the writing style, every step and move the characters did seemed to be outlined and over explained. But overall really enjoyed the cuteness of the characters story!!
[book:From Bitter to Sweet] is the third in [author:Sheridan Jeane]’s series set in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. I found the second, [book:Here’s the Scoop], to be not particularly interesting or well written (I haven’t read the first of the books in the series) and while the writing has improved, the storytelling is still fairly bland.
Lianna is recovering from the abrupt end of her marriage after catching her ex cheating on her, and Kincaid is wary of relationships after his girlfriend lied about being pregnant (among other things). The two are pushed together by Lianna’s friend - Kincaid’s sister - after Lianna hires Kincaid to put an addition on her home. The two pretty much immediately put aside any trust issues or concerns about a romantic relationship muddling their business-client one, and while I’m normally happy to see people get out of their own way, these two just didn’t have much chemistry. I don’t think I’ll be looking to continue this series.

Thanks to NetGalley and Flowers and Fullerton for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was the first book I’ve read by this author. It was a cute story about two people who’d been lied to in their previous relationships and had to find a way to trust again so they could move on.

This book was short and sweet, yet still filled with so much drama! Lianna is recently divorced after her ex-husband cheated on her and she struggles with infertility issues. Kincaid is a construction company owner who also got out of a rocky relationship after his ex lied. After meeting for the first time in high school, both cross paths again, when Kincaid is contracted to build an addition to Lianna’s house! They both struggle with trust issues and have to learn to be open and honest with each other! This book shows the growth of characters and the growth of each other amazingly! My absolute favorite nickname is love and I melted every time Kincaid used this nickname with Lianna! The ending was a twist but felt a bit rushed to me! Overall I enjoyed this book!

Lastly Thankyou author and netgalley for allowing me to give my heartful love to this book.
Lianna is recently divorced and recovering from a heartbreak from her cheating husband. She's focusing on herself and trying to remodel her new home. Kincaid just ended his engagement and has issues trusting anything a woman says. He owns his own construction company and is focused on building his portfolio.
They've known each other since high school and it makes conversations between them easy lighthearted. Sparks fly and they start to get to know each other on a personal level. Even though they've both been hurt from past relationships, they still try to make it work between them. Their chemistry and how Lianna is such a clutz made me laugh so much.
I haven't yet read the 1st book in the series but I loved Here's the scoop. It's like @sheridanjeane just upped her game as she wrote each book.
This is a series I would highly recommend to any and everyone.
I'm honestly not ready for this series to finish. I will definitely be adding these books to my bookshelf!!
Besides the books being so good I loved that I'm able to try out the recipes they cooked in their cooking class.
Lianna has hear heart on lockdown after her messy divorce from her cheating ex. Now moved into own house, she decides to do some construction work. Enter Kincaid, the brother of her friend. He has his own construction business, he's full of great ideas and let's face it - he's also easy on the eyes.
Kincaid has his own toxic ex to deal with. She was manipulative, a cheater and never met a lie she didn't like. He's interested in Lianna but with her being a potential client, he's hiding his attraction.
But thanks to some matchmaking by his sister, Courtney, and a well crafted agreement over the work needed, Kincaid and Lianna tenatively step into a new romance. Neither think they're in it for the long term. Neither think they'll be ready for a full on relationship any time soon. Yeah, well Fate has other plans for them!
I really enjoyed Lianna and Kincaid's love story. Both have been treated atrociously bad by their ex's. So much so that even after divorces, break ups and almost blackmail - they are still causing heartaches for them. Gaslighting, emotional blackmail and tampering with Kincaid's livelihood are the least of the things they have to get past.
This is very much a story of hope after heartbreak. I was rooting for Lianna and Kincaid from the start. A man willing to learn to cook for himself, can swink a hammer and is a master of innuendo?
Just what the fragile and rightfully bitter Lianna needs in her life. The humour lightened the heartache and I have to say the scene near the end with Lianna, Gloria and "HIM" was glorious in the epic coming together of the ex-wife and mistress!
This story revolves around Kincaid and Lianna. Both are attracted to each other at first site I love both of them, especially Kincaid he is so kind and caring, and he is such a walking green flag🟩 every girl asks for.
But both have trust issues there own because of their past relationships but they got a second chance with each other💕 but still they have to pass that trust huddle caused by Lianna’s ex fucking husband and Kincaid's manipulative of a girlfriend ( they both are sucks😡 hate em).
I love how supportive Kincaid is for Lianna at every turn he has her back.
The book title really suits them (from bitter to sweet😍💕) the title also was the reason I wanted to read this book so badly💕💘🥰.
Mainly I like about the book that is it's in dual POV I love how Kincaid sees Lianna💕💘 with so much love and so much respect truly.
I love when books has dual POV and it was with to read💕🤌🏻🔥, the sexual tension and all really.
To say I enjoyed this book may be an understatement considering I finished it within a day!
I really enjoyed the character progression of this book and felt both Lianne's and Kincaid's pain from their previous relationships.
A perfect romance for this summer! Can be read as a standalone or as part of a series. I am now going to go and read books 1 & 2 because I want to know more about the secondary characters!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read this one!
The title of Lianna and Kincaid's story could not be more appropriate. They both have been through a lot and, once they finally meet, everything in their life become soooooo sweet. While reading this book, I could feel the insane chemistry between them and I really could not wait for the next scene when they were together (whether it was a little interaction scene or a date scene, whether it was teasing scene or a kiss/love scene). So, if you're into sweet, cute, and sexy love stories, I think From Bitter To Sweet is the right book for you.
Thank you to NetGalley and the author of this book for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Sheridan Jeane has done it again!!! From Bitter to Sweet is the perfect sweet but spicy romcom.
Lianna is recovering from her divorce with her new hose when she hires Kincaid Gillette from Gillette Construction to be the contractor on her house addition. They knew of each other in high school, but Lianna is better friends with his sister, Courtney. Courtney pushes the two of them to see each other and while Kincaid is working on her house, they start to spend more and more time together. After they exchange "I love you's," they find that Lianna is pregnant even though she thought she was infertile. Kincaid does not take the news well because he was drunk and his past relationship left him scared to trust.
I loved this story and how it really was the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. Kincaid seems like a guy who was take advantage of too many times and is scared to trust. I can't believe that someone would really lie about being pregnant. Lianna seems like the sweetest soul so I was happy to see her get her happy ending and the baby that she had been craving so long!!
Sheridan Jeane has become an auto-read author of mine! Her flirty quick stories have been so fun to dive into and enjoy. They are quick and sexy and always a good time. This title had some twists that caught me by surprise and I was loving it. I felt so immersed in the characters and the story that I was just along for the ride. I also love a best friends brother trope and this book definitely delivered! Do yourself a favor and read this (and ALL) of Jeane's titles!
