A compelling read which i devoured pretty quickly!
All sorts here, revenge plots, stalking with plenty of twists and turns in between.
Great author, great read.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.
Easy 5 stars.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Eloise knows her husband cheated on her with Tina and that he has a son he doesn't know about, but she has a master plan in motion to get revenge for everything that's been done to her. Too bad nothing ever works out the way it's planned.
This book was just okay for me. It seemed slow for the first half, but then started to pick up a little bit. I enjoyed the character of Ricky the most. I thought he added a lot to the plot that helped keep it moving when the other characters seemed to fall flat.
Thank you to #NetGalley and #InkubatorBooks for access to read and review #HerHusbandsSecret by #EmilyShiner. This was a very good book and I really enjoyed the sinister, secrets and drama. I would have liked the ending to drag out a little longer but was still great.
I didn’t even read this (even though I really wanted to.) I went to look up reviews of this on here and someone gave away one of the big reveals 😡
Heart pounding thriller that left me on the edge of my seat. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. Definitely one of the best books this year.
I really enjoyed this book. It’s a great thriller that has plenty of twists that kept me guessing. I was quickly taken in by the plot and characters. I read it in almost one sitting and would definitely recommend to others.
Started this book last night and finished it today. Was a great wild ride. The author did an outstanding job portraying how I feel the characters would be describing what is going on from their perspective. Quick read and really enjoyed it!!!
This is my first book I ever read by her and I really enjoyed it. I would recommend this book and it was a real page turner. Also in the book it had some shocked turning events that I didn’t see it coming. What I was confused on is why the book didn’t throughly talked about how Ricky killed Jared but overall I enjoyed reading it. I am definitely going to keep reading her books.
This was a fun and fast-paced read!
Everyone loves a good revenge plot. Eloise's version is deliciously twisted and complex. It's a stark contrast to the innocence and sweetness of Tina, the unknowing mistress, and her young son.
The shifting perspectives between chapters helped develop the suspense of the plot. I was never really quite sure where Jared, the cheating husband, fell on the victim-villain continuum. I feel like his character and the backstory of the affair could have used a bit more development. As it stands, his character felt a bit inconsistent with confusing motives.
But the creepy, stalker-ish cousin who gradually became more unhinged? He definitely amped things up!
Overall, this book had all the elements you look for in a psychological thriller. Definitely one to pick up!
Good plot. Lots of twists and turns. A tad long. Overall a solid thriller. I would recommend to others.
I really enjoyed Her Husband's Secret however I think it drug on a little too long. The twists and turns were great and what a wild ride. I will definitely recommend to fellow readers!
I've read a few books by Emily Shiner now so when I see this book available on netgalley I jumped at the chance for it. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy this as much as I hoped I would. I felt that it was slow to build. I loved the premise of it, it has alot of potential but unfortunately it felt a bit flat for me. The one thing I did enjoy is Ricky, he gave the physiological thriller a bit of suspense and was creepy towards Tina.
I was super disappointed with this book. I am a huge fan of Emily, and was excited to see that she had another book out. However, I am not entirely sure what it is but something big is missing from this book that is in her other books. It felt like a chore reading this, and I wasn't excited to actually read it. I finished it because I wanted to see if it would get better, but unfortunately it didn't. This book was just not as gripping as her other books. This is the first time I have given Emily's book such a negative review.
Her Husband's Secret by Emily Shiner is a fast-paced, propulsive read that had me flying through the pages.
Tina is a struggling single mother of a three year old son, Luke. Given her circumstances, finding a roommate has proven difficult, but when creepster Ricky moves in, Tina knows that she must draw the line and keep herself and her son safe. Realtor Eloise seems to provide the answer to her prayers when she offers to help Tina and Luke get into a home of their own. But she has sinister motivations, and Ricky has developed a fixation and will not let Tina out of his sight.
This is a compelling tale that kept me on edge throughout. Ms Shiner has become an automatic read for me, and I cannot wait for whatever comes next. 4.5 stars
Many thanks to NetGalley and Inkubator Books for an ARC.
I flew through this in one sitting and it wad quite the read. It is a quick and easy read. Told from multiple povs, you never quite know just what the end game is and I was desperate to find out.
The the characters were well written and I have to say, I've never felt so uneasy reading about a made up person as I did when it came to Ricky. My skin was almost crawling off my body from the start every time I read about him. He was so perfectly depecited and brought to life as just this incredibly eerie and unsettling person to be around d
The plot was quite straight forward and there were no real plot holes. It kept up a good pace and I was hooked from the start.
A really solid domestic thriller
Thank you NetGalley for the advance copy of this book to read.
This was a pretty solid thriller. I read it in one sitting because I was really interested in what Eloise and Ricky were planning on doing. I loved Tina’s feelings for our son to protect him as much as she can. The twist at the end I thought was pretty good!
Good book! This book had a bit of everything! It had suspense, intrigue, murder, mystery, revenge, and a few crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I definitely recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
I really wanted to love this book but the ending ruined it for me. It has the well developed characters and such promise but then the villain comes out on top.
