Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read in exchange for an honest review.
Taco is pretty good at holding it together, but sometimes Taco isn't. Sometimes Taco falls apart and spirals with negative thoughts and feelings. Its me; I'm Taco.
This is a good way to introduce kids to resiliency. I love the simple story and the illustrations are pretty expressive. I will be looking to add this to my classroom library!
Taco Falls Apart was a very cute story about a Taco dealing with big feelings and friends that help "build" them back up with positivity.
What a wonderful unique story to help kids cope with feelings! I’ve never seen it done with food before. I especially appreciated the notes at the back of the book. The illustrations were adorable and fun!
This was super cute and a lighthearted way to address big feelings with young and old alike.
The illustrations were cute and the story was engaging. I’ve felt this way countless times.
It’s nice to see that we can all overcome hard things.
Now I want tacos…
Taco Falls Apart has such a great and relatable message. Some days you have a perfect taco that stands up and holds all the ingredients, and some days they fall apart - but even when they fall apart, they are still delicious. This book has great techniques to a positive mindset. Highly recommend!
Thank you, Netgalley and American Psychological Association, for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Taco Falls Apart by Brenda S. Miles is an adorably illustrated story about a taco that gets tired of trying to meet everyone's expectations. Just when he's ready to give up, his ingredient friends offer him support and teach him to think-feel-do. There are parts that will make readers laugh out loud and the message is a valuable one for children of all ages. I can't wait to read this to my kindergarten students as part of our Social Emotional Learning initiative.
I can’t wait till this comes out in August 2023. I think this will be a great book to add into my rotation for read aloud with my students on any having a positive mindset can help. I loved the illustrations and the books message.
Thank you NetGalley for the advance copy to read.
A really cute book for kids about thinking positively! I love Taco as the main character, and this has such a good message.
