This was a fun read. It took me about a chapter or two to really get into the story but once Ethan showed up I was hooked. While I could see the twist coming from early on in the story I really didn't find that to be a negative even with the reveal coming at the very end of the book. I liked how destiny played a role in the FMC characters mind and how she made her choice on going all in on the relationship on her own without thinking of destiny or fate. Overall a fun quick book to read.

I really enjoyed this novella! When I requested it I hadn't realized it would be so short, so I was definitely bummed when I came to the end of it. I would've read another two hundred pages happily.

Thank you so much NetGalley and Dani McLean for the ARC of It Has To Be You. This is my first Dani Mclean Novella and it was so much fun to read. Indy and Ethans relationship started as a accidental incounter and turned into so much more. I love that Dani gave the reader a protaganist that belived in fate and that everything happens. I'm sure some of the readers who read this novella has had that thought that maybe things happen for a reason and some people come into our lives for a reason. I swear as i was reading this i was all for how Indy and Ethan's everyday meet ups and jumpped for joy as they both got their happy ending. Thats all i will say for this book. I really enjoyed it and I will look for more of Dani's books to read moving forward.

Cute romcom with swoony LI and engaging MC. This has a lot of great banter, romance, and depth. Stayed up all night reading!

Absolutely loved It Has To Be You. The only bad thing I can say about it, is that I would've read a 400 page chunk about these lovebirds. As seems to be my only complaint about this author!

Where to even start! Having read Dani McLean's previous novellas from this series I can confidently say I am in love with Chance and the stories she has built into the Movie Magic world. It Has To Be You is sooo funny, relatable and just too cute!

I loved Indy and Ethan since the very beginning, their playful banter and flintiness had me swooning and just smiling from ear to ear. Indy's anxiety and the way she second guesses herself is not only so real but highly relatable which I really liked. I feel like we all could use an Ethan in our lives, the way I basically fell in love. 😍 He is such a sweetheart, so incredibly caring and the way he always knows how to take care of her and be there for her. I really loved how he would always try ate calm her down so gently when she would start spiraling.

This book will have you believing in all the things, love, romance, fate and happily ever afters, it is such a beautifully written romance. The ending was sooo amazing and just pure perfection. If you want a light, feel good, cozy and easy romance read with lost of humor and a sprinkle of spice, this one is for you!

Thank you Netgalley and the author for my eARC.

This was such a feel good read and exactly what i needed to read at this very moment. How satisfying is that? We have two destined lovers in the city of Chance… who don’t realize how destined they are. Indy is chasing after the wrong guy while Ethan is falling for her, fast! These two quickly becomes friends in a matter of weeks and are learning a lot about each other and taking chances opening themselves up more and more each day. This novella is paced really nicely and the story flows very well. Indy and Ethan have such a cozy and cute love that is was 100% perfection. Both characters are genuine and felt so authentic to me and i think that played into my feelings of them literally being each others destiny.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a chance to read this early <3

Indy thought she was destined for a second chance romance, but Ethan showing up everywhere she went made her question what destiny had in store for her.

I absolutely adored this book. The friendship they developed before admitting their feelings was so special. I loved the characters so much and was so sad it was just a short novella!!

I recieved this arc in exchange for an honest review.
I loved reading this short novel. This is the first time that I have read a book by Dani but and I will definitely be picking up more by her. A cute fast paced story. Truly enjoyed the flirtatious banter between the two lead characters. There a little spice at the end but not too much.

'And honestly, what was there to live for when hash browns couldn’t cheer a person up?'

Sometimes all you want is a novella, a story to immerse yourself in, but without a longer time commitment. Dani McLean's 'It Has To Be You' hit that perfect spot for me. While it did drag a bit in the middle (there's slow burn and then there's dragged out longer than it needs to), I adored Indy and Ethan, which kept me immersed in their story. I was waiting for Indy to see that fate was giving her signs that Ethan was her 'one'. Their chemistry almost burnt my e-reader!

Thanks to Victory Editing Co-op and NetGalley for the ARC.

This was a good light read book. It gives you all the feels you’re wanting from a light hearted quick read. The book boyfriend is perfectly dreamy. I look forward to reading the other books. I don’t want to do any spoilers but happy how it turns out for Indy.

This was a really sweet novella with some STEAMYYY scenes. Destiny and Ethan's story was a whirlwind and a beautiful one at that. Ethan quickly became a new favourite book boyfriend of mine and I absolutely adored the storyline. This won't be my last read of Dani's, I can't wait to catch up on her work!

I loved this - I love all the books in the Movie Magic series. Ethan was a great love interest - he is up there with the best book boyfriends, and I love how uncomplicated he is. Indy was also so endearing, she has her issues but there is never a woe is me vibe. The whole fate theme running through this was fascinating and it made the epilogue so satisfying, especially given how important fate had been to Indy. I kind of wish these novellas were connected because I’m sad I won’t get an update on these two. It honestly amazes me every time how Dan McLean can get me so hooked with a short story.

This was a cute novella that was very quick and easy to read. It’s my first time reading anything from Dani McLean but it won’t be my last. I enjoyed her writing style and I liked the characters. Although Indy was a little annoying the way she believed so strongly in fate but ignored the bright neon signs the universe was sending her. I loved Ethan, he was the perfect love interest.

All in all a really enjoyable read with your next favourite book boyfriend 😆

3.5 stars

If you want something sweet and unproblematic, but that features more realistic characters than your usual romance book, then read this one. Indy struggles with anxiety, which, let me tell you, is super relatable. She's also heavily tattooed, like I am. She seems to think that everyone is always looking at her tattoos, though, which is something I haven't experienced or heard anyone with tattoos mentioned, and I am from a very conservative country. That bit was the only one I found unrealistic, but maybe it's because the author doesn't have tattoos herself. I don't know; it's not that deep, right?

Ethan, the love interest, is and does more than the bare minimum, which means that I think he's amazing. But honestly, out of all the romance books I've read recently, he's my favorite. Maybe it's because he's a fourth grade teacher, or because he actually understands and applies affective responsibility. Either way, I ended up liking him more than Indy, which rarely happens when I'm reading about heterosexual relationships. I just think he was extremely patient and at times Indy was plain dumb.

You need some context, right? Indy is now in her early thirties, but when she was a teenager, she was dating this guy Nick, who gave her a bracelet, and a psychic told her that the owner of the bracelet was her soulmate. Months after that, her relationship with Nick is over and she pretty much forgets about her bracelet until she finds it, fifteen or so years later, in the present. She decides that Nick is The One, as foretold by the psychic, so she goes to look for him, but instead she ends up running into Ethan, Nick's cousin.

That's about all you need to know. Oh, yes, and there's a sex scene, but it happens only in one chapter, so you can skip it and pretend it's a fade-to-black thing. Okay, now that's it.

It Has To Be You is a very sweet and fun book! It was a quick and light read and perfect for a day on the shore. I love Ethan - he is sexy, supportive and everything Indy needs. Indy is convinced Ethan's cousin Nick is her soulmate and doesn't see what is standing right in front of her. Indy teams up with Ethan to find Nick. Ethan has an issue with his cousin and Nick is avoiding him. The storyline is predictable but worth the read. A solid 3.5 stars.

I haven't read the other books in the Movie Magic Novellas series but plan to. If they are similar to It Has To Be You I know I will enjoy them.

Thanks NetGalley and Dani McLean for the ARC of It Has To Be You..
